brotherofursParticipant
for sure necessary, i just don’t like it when there is a man photographer and he’s trying to get a good pic while there are tons of ladies squishing him all around! 🙁
brotherofursParticipant*actually, at the right times
brotherofursParticipantYESSSSSSS 😀 B”H ALWAYS WILL BE
brotherofursParticipanti will b”H try to be mekabel on some things… to tell u the truth though, i don’t think many people in my community are even aware any of this happened , even the three gedole hador :'( i happen to hear from a teacher recently and i think it’s horrible that i didnt know!!
they may not know and that’s why they may not be rushing to do teshuvah even if we should anyway regularly.
brotherofursParticipanti’ll do 55- 60 He should get sent home b”H!!
brotherofursParticipantaww ohev yisroe-l :).. but yeah i’m your brother and i post on here secretly when your not around ..
brotherofursParticipanttracht gut- i have work on july 4th 🙁
what do u think my sn has to do woth me?????/ 🙂
brotherofursParticipantlol write a birthday card for someone-that’s what i just did 😉
brotherofursParticipantno others post {that i know of} … but they have seen me on it a few times and make a little fun of me 🙂 even though they don’t really know what it is.
brotherofursParticipantlol but we need advice from the older people ;)!
I think there should be a “tzeniut” category, i think it has a lot of threads and would be useful
brotherofursParticipantwe eat out for birthdays (like one a month) and on like every other sunday night sometimes we get pizza
brotherofursParticipantwow this is helpful!! thanks
brotherofursParticipantmy parents went and my father organized a group of other parents from the community to go with them, i’m not sure exactly which places they went (i know for sure Aushwitz and stuff..)but they said it was an unforgettable trip.
My sister also went with the same group she went to Israel with for the Summer, she said it was also worth it and very emotional.
brotherofursParticipanti;m sorry that u have to take the time to edit that post (if ur gonna change it to an exclamation point) .. Thanks for making this a “safe” site :)!
brotherofursParticipantoops i made a mistake!!!!!!!! and put a question mark instead of exclamation point!!! i’m sorry mods!! 🙁 u guys are the best!
brotherofursParticipantyeah they really work so hard?
brotherofursParticipanti just got sugar daddy, but my friend got luscious lips and it looked pretty, i also like iced roses (all like light pinks)
brotherofursParticipant20-25 inclusive
brotherofursParticipantnot exactly a story, just something that got the kids inspiired:
i heard about a teacher that came in a told her 3rd grade class that she was going to call obama, she dialed the white house and asked for obama, she got connected to person after person after person ect. and after about 15 min of waiting (tha class could not believe the teacher was wasting so much time!) they finally got connected to Obama’s vie president’s secretary’s assistant (or sm like that-i forgot)who said, “You can leave a message with me, but i can’t guarantee that anyone will hear it or respond back….
anyway the teacher was trying to point out that “right this second we have the opportunity to talk to the KING OF ALL KINGS!! ,look how hard it is to reach a human being- we are so lucky we get to talk to Hashem, the ruler of the world EVERY DAY!!..then they started praying 🙂
brotherofursParticipantstill looking- the shamayim is open when it’s raining , great time to pray, Hashem heard you right away when it was raining 🙂 (Hashem always does everyday, but especially when it’s raining)
brotherofursParticipantoregon
brotherofursParticipantmy teacher said that one of her old students came up to her and said that the teacher really helped her with kavana. The teacher told her (back when she was her teacher) that to have one beracha that she’s going to have total concentration EVERY time, once she did that she went to another beracha and it took a long time but she finally finished the whole amidah and she’s soo proud of her accomplishments-maybe this will help for u 🙂
me- i like praying alone, i feel like if people are watching me, i’m not doing it truly for Hashem but so that people will think better of me -which is just fake so i’d MUCHHH rather pray alone with no one there except me and Hashem.
brotherofursParticipantwhat do you think about me??! 🙂
June 24, 2011 3:24 pm at 3:24 pm in reply to: Flatbush- why are the streets so empty after dark? #780439brotherofursParticipanti think it’s because it’s dangerous, my parents wouldn’t let me walk down the block while it’s dark. As for cars- i always see tons, every hour of the night so i’m not sure when you’re referring to 🙂
brotherofursParticipanti think you should just pray everything at home,
*that’s what i’m going to do since, in camp, there is only a certain amount of time we can spend praying and i take longer than that.
brotherofursParticipantthank you! and abcd2 that’s a good idea!! and i’m not sure if it’s a requirement yet..
basket of radishes- ur right i can just say, i was involved in something else thanks! and i hope i’m doing the right thing..
brotherofursParticipantwhat if your screename is not a type of person or an adjective?
brotherofursParticipantamichai- i really would want to and wish i live near a hospital, i don’t drive 🙁 when i get a ride i’ll go b”H
that night i ended up up doing sm that i never got around doing- taking some of the lessons from my navi notes in school and writing them down in a separate notebook that i can easily open up to when i’m married b”H 🙂 i thought that was okay to do in my spare time.. but i also recently heard of girls doing food packaging every friday so i’m glad i have sm to do now:D
brotherofursParticipantsomeone told me that you have to be honest with yourself, if it really is maris ayin, or is it for your own kavod,
is the thing that your doing (chesed) more important than your kavod? if it is then you don’t say anything.
What qualifies for maris ayin? and are you allowed to depend on ppl to be dan l’kaf zechut in this case?
brotherofursParticipantthanks stickynote those were good ideas!!:D
zeeskite i’ve been doing that, and sadly do not feel accomplished at all 🙁 ..i’ll join cr later i”yH, i’m going to do something more productive to me 😉
brotherofursParticipantwhat about Mods?
Mod80 is Always so sensitive towards people’s feelings, always knows how to rebuke someone on a post in a nice and caring way, and adds a lot to each convo! 🙂
brotherofursParticipanti was saying that i wouldn’t want women to think badly of me since i went to shul much earlier all the other weeks….
but even if it was a different example:
let’s say i wanted to pray at home with more kavana instead of praying at camp while my campers are praying and be more distracted. i wouldn’t want to tell everyone this, but if i come to camp and i don’t pray there, they would think i didn’t pray at all 🙁
June 23, 2011 12:37 am at 12:37 am in reply to: what's better: to be humble, OR mar'eet ayin? #780312brotherofursParticipantbut i feel so much better when i don’t tell anyone about the chesed. 🙁
brotherofursParticipantit’s called the brooklyn museum, it’s on eastern parkway
brotherofursParticipantmy parents went to a wedding recently that was in a museum.
everyone came back from it and said the room they danced in looked gorgeous-i heard they didn’t need so much flowers because there were waterfalls
don’t know which museum but i can find out if u want
brotherofursParticipanti like baal boose’s idea the best
brotherofursParticipantarizona
brotherofursParticipanti don’t really make money, this is my first year working in a camp! i’m scared.
brotherofursParticipantcool thanks!!
brotherofursParticipantand also i remember MANY values from preschool ex “tov li Torat picha mealfe zahav vakesef”-sang this at my chumash play…there are tons like that..
we learn how important a child’s upbringing is, like i learned the difference between when you tell a child, “don’t steal, how would you feel if someone stole from you?” and
“Hashem, the same G-d who created us and gives us life every second , says that we cannot steal.”…i would not trust non-Jews with these types of lessons.
brotherofursParticipantcleverJewish- it’s like what golden mom was saying and more
brotherofursParticipant“what did 0 tell 8? i like your belt”
cute never heard that one b4 🙂
brotherofursParticipantcould be i think my sister sang it in one of her plays though
brotherofursParticipantif i need to get a lot of things done i’ll try to do all as fast as i can and at the same time if i can. i try not get people annoyed though 🙁 i hope i don’t get them annoyed. 🙁
brotherofursParticipantKenya
brotherofursParticipant“Do u call him daddy, or maybe u say abba, perhaps to u he’s tatty, or do u call him papa…”-Marvelous Middos machine!! [came into my head when i saw this thread]
brotherofursParticipanti feel bad for the kids. 🙁 they will miss out on so much if theyre not in a Jewish preschool.. Morahs have a such a big responsibility i wouldn’t trust the public schools to give over the right values to my child, and isn’t that the most imp thing to be careful of when they’re young?
brotherofursParticipanttallahasee
brotherofursParticipantLOL!
June 21, 2011 3:17 am at 3:17 am in reply to: what was your first memory and how old were you? #778637brotherofursParticipant6HZ-i have a similar memory when i thought that whatever noises i made inside my mouth no one can hear them but me. Then i figured out the truth when i tested it out-must have been young about 3-5 maybe?
I also remember when i used to wake my mother up in the middle of the night because my blankey (that i was attached to and always slept with) fell in the crack between the bed and the wall and my arm was not long enough to reach it lol. -probably about when i first started sleeping in a big bed. 🙂
I also remember sitting on my aunt’s lap and her feeding me rice and chicken on my grandmother’s porch-probably about 2-3 yrs old
