and btw – shouldn’t feminists feel proud to be female? why are they always looking to be males? (they should be called “male wannabes” instead.) a women should be proud for what she is capable of. why would anyone would wanna throw it out is beyond me. a feminist gives up a secure place in society to join the rat race where she KNOWS the chances of her making it “big” are slim. especially if she wants to ever have kid.
lol i wrote a whole paper on this for my economics class and got an A. (it was about women getting paid less than men) AND the professor is not Jewish.

just a little story: a neighbor of mine (VERY modern – not even sure if they fit into the MO category) was once talking about having kids and she said that her husband was worried to have more. my mother told her this. a year later she had a boy and when she called my mom to tell her about the bris, she said “i told my husband what you said and he gave in in a second.”

dunno what your family’s financial situation is but don’t expect too much with the current economy and all. doesn’t sound like you’re really prepared to live a kollel lifestyle. most women start out working much longer hours, don’t have much cleaning help (if any) and don’t have the luxuries of going on vacations and getting manicures. some couples have it easier cuz they’re supported, but it’s kinda naive of you to expect it now. so many people just can’t keep up with it.

nah i don’t think i would give myself that label. the Torah doesn’t shun females, though. Women are supposed to be respected al pi Torah. i think i’m more for that approach than the “feminist” view.

and yeah, you’re right about the texting though. same thing.
whatever the situation. someone who is able to sit and learn – for whatever reason – be it rich parents, a wife with i great income, a lotto ticket… whatever it is it’s a zchus. i’m not saying everyone can have that zchus. some guys can’t sit all day. and some can’t afford it financially. but those who do (and many of them sacrifice a lot) are lucky.
and yes, there’s no saying who’s schar is greater. we have no idea.
