in my house we give the kids rice dream together with meat. my siblings all try to hold off their kids for at least an hour before giving them milk, but my brother asked and was told that if he really must, he doesn’t have to wait. we never give milk together with meat, though. don’t know the halachos.

jphone – perfect example. a little hard to use, though. there’s no psychology involved – it’s people following the divine word.

joseph – we were actually discussing narcissism in college and it’s linked to aggressive, controlling behavior as well as a lack in self confidence. so i decided that i’m not really a narcissist – i’m just a special person who knows it :}

i’d have to translate a lesson into english. my mind works in hebrew cuz i teach ivrit be’ivrit. besides, i hope you’re all passed elementary-school level.
well i learned my manners in seventh grade. except if you read the other posts you’ll see which grades a didn’t really attend much. :} that’s why my manners are so great. whatever i know in that department i learned from Joseph…

i don’t learn gemara! but it feels good to at least review the parsha with rashi. and i don’t mean hashkafa classes (which are great) but i go to a class once a week (on thursday nights!) that really makes you use your head. i wouldn’t give it up for anything.
craziness. i was reading the home page and i perked up when i saw “Brooklyn.” lol it was talking about parking tickets. i think i identify with this brooklyn19 character way too much…

and joseph – just for the record: i didn’t even want to go out with him – he was dying to date me forever and i finally gave in. and i stopped it cuz i knew he wouldn’t and i was so not marrying him and i didn’t wanna drag it out… now that i just revealed my entire life-story… happy?
takes too much effort to purposely get 35% wrong :} i wouldn’t work myself that hard to make it by the skin of my teeth. i’d rather just show up, do my thing and walk away :}
well i don’t “make sure” anything. but i’ll be honest, i always ask my brothers what the guy looks like. (of course they always lie – but what can you do if your brothers are half blind when they look at men?) it’s when i’m already out and i can’t take the way the guy looks that drives me nuts. it’s such a stupid reason to say no, but at the same time – i can’t marry the guy!
anon – i think it depends on which calendar you’re following. there have been many over the course of history and they’re all slightly different. (i mean the solar ones. the lunar calendar is very different)
i used to think i would mind hotel lobbies cuz my dad always made my brothers take girls out to restaurants on their first dates. but i honestly don’t mind them (IF the guy has personality)

joseph – it was only a second date. nothing serious at all, but i think he was trying to impress me. didn’t work :} anyway, he didn’t know but money makes me extra skeptical. people who flash money have to work extra hard to prove themselves to me. i dunno – that’s just how i am.

hey but i really didn’t. i mean if i got a hundred on a test that’s just as good as anyone who sat in class and got a hundred. lol ok maybe i didn’t always get 100. but a 90 is good enough if i get to cut a month’s worth of classes.

KIE – look it up. i saw the movie, but it’s based on a real experiment and it was slightly different. one of the kids actually committed suicide after the whole thing fell through.
lol jphone – don’t think – that same thought has occurred to me quite a few times in the CR. there are for sure a few of those floating around.
beacon – that’s my point. (sorta like the guy in a black hat/white shirt yeshiva who wears a blue shirt. there’s nothing wrong with a blue shirt but in that setting it says something about the guy.)

you kidding??? i graduated with honors! i cut school but i took midterms, finals and regents so i actually did pretty well.

tzippi – of course. that was totally not the issue. her house is relatively small so maybe she would have to have her son share a room with the new baby? not such a huge deal. but yes, there are plenty of valid reasons to stop having children.
LOL bym – i can’t control my laughter. yeah, there were fireworks. they stopped by now.
well Mango didn’t say anything about fitting a chavrusa into his/her busy schedule. i could be wrong, but that’s really what made me vote “girl”
