BostonerParticipant
Sadly, there was a case of a Jewish baby in the Bronx in the early 1900s who was accidentally switched with an Irish baby at the hospital and raised as a catholic. The family only found out recently due to the genetic testing of a grandchild.
BostonerParticipantFirst of all, I am sorry for your pain. This must be a very difficult time for you.
This does happen, more often than you know. It hurts a lot, but it is often a hidden pain because so few people are aware of the situation. I hope there is someone (a former sem teacher; a kind aunt) you can pour out your heart to.
BostonerParticipantMazal tov!!! So happy for you and your chosson!

BostonerParticipantPlease keep davening for Calev Avraham ben Elisheva Rus.
There was a report that he had been seen in Providence RI, but after reviewing video the police concluded that it was not Calev.
The Boston community has been working so hard to find him – search parties, flyers, tehillim groups and more. Please add more tehillim to bring him safely home!
BostonerParticipantThis was the best vacuum I ever bought:
Hoover Platinum Lightweight Upright Vacuum with Canister, Bagged, UH30010COM
I got it before Pesach and it has been wonderful. It was $246 from Amazon.com. It is an upright, but also comes with a shoulder-held mini-vacuum which is perfect for stairs & cars. Both the upright and the mini-vac have long cords, so you don’t have to unplug going from room to room.
This was my 4th vacuum after 25+ years of marriage. The first was a Kenmore canister – worked great for 15 years, so when it died I got a new Kenmore canister for $350. It broke twice in three years, costing $75 to fix it each time. Then I got a cheap one at Target. It lasted 2 yers but wasn;t the best.
I hope this is helpful!
BostonerParticipantFor more info on Passaic/Clifton, there was a nice article in Hamodia’s magazine section about 4 months ago. From what I hear, it is a warm and vibrant community.
BostonerParticipantHocker101:
That posuk you cited is from Maftir of Yom Kippur, not mussaf.
It’s in yeshaya, Perek ?’?. Close though – nice try!
BostonerParticipantMazal Tov on your success!!! All the best in your new career.
BostonerParticipantI agree with Tomim tihye – it all depends on what you are seeking. Our family’s solution has been to live in a smaller community, where costs are lower. It has the added benefit of teaching our children (and ourselves) to value every member of Klal Yisroel, as there are fewer of us here to join in strengthening our shuls, schools, etc.
