I am not one who has the time and looks frequently at the coffee room of YW and I noticed that this topic has been going on for 3 month so I browsed through the 17 pages of bloggers and I have decided to write back to “write or wrong”. Firstly, you may never blame yourself or your spouse that your son is and wants to be the way he is. IYH he will come around and you will see and have much nachas from him, eventhough right now you think that is impossible. My son was able to be the poster child for any kids at risk organization and at age 15 he was hanging out with kids all hours of the night. My wife cried many days & nights and I do think that if a child sees a mother in the corner davening fervently and saying Tehilllim with tremendous kavanah the child will get somewhat bothered by it and may help the situation. You should have hatzlocha and see sooner than later the nachas you deserve

The Sanitation workers of NYC did an ecellent job and they were out all night and at times I saw 5 plows working together and making sure that the snow was pushed to the side and the streets were cleaned. Keep in mind that the last snow storm was on a day when it was not important enough to clean streets that had a school on it, since it was a Holiday week and no Public schools were open. I do believe that is a tremendous factor in the equation. Again we must say THANK YOU to the NYC SANITATION for doing such a great job this time around.

I believe that if you went out twice and you have no reason to dislike the fellow then tell the shadchan to set up the next date and there is no reason to procrastinate unless the fellow possibly has a busy schedule . Also should go for the boy….If there is no real reason to say no to the shadchan then keep going out (Of course you are both entitled to say no for just about any reason as it is your future we are talking about..)But just to say NO for absolutely no pin pointed reason should not be happening. However after 6 dates.. some thought process should be made by both and there is no reason to just sporadically say lets go out for the fun of it.. as that is not the reason for Dating

I can’t believe it that there was no outrage of the Press Secretary or the President himself and make a general rule that at a Press Meeting all phones must be turned off or at least on vibrate.

Rabbonim & gabbaim fo years have been begging people to shut off their phones before walking into a Shul or Bais Hamedrash

Rabbi Eliezer Ginsburg does not own a phone and will not have one purchased for him and he has said on many ocassions that the Bluetooth is an Eved Nirtzah and recently he proclaimed that if someone is at a funeral and a cell phone goes off during the Hesdpedim, one should go to the Aron of the Mais and give it a clop, which will of course make a tumult and who knows what , but when the tumult starts , you should scream out and say ” And what , the cell phone that is ringing is not just like a clop on the Aron “.

I think the message hear is that it is very sad that were are writing about the insensitivity of cell phones going off at the wrong time, but the real people getting hurt is the one who’s phone is ringing and all others are in the middle of Shemonai Esrei trying to daven with a little bit of Kavona.

Let us see the light and begin to better ourselves and shut off those phones at shul and levaya’s and during the chupa’s, etc etc

ALL YOU NEED TO DO TO PUT A STOP TO SMOKING FROM THE BOCHRIM IS THAT ” A NOTICE GOES OUT TO ALL THE GIRLS LOOKING FOR SHIDUCHIM ” AND THEY SAY THAT THEY WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO OUT WITH A BOY THAT SMOKES. IF HE SMOKED A CIGARETTE IN THE LAST 6 MONTHES IT IS USSER FOR A GIRL TO GO OUT WITH HIM AND THEN THE BOYS WILL KNOW THAT IT IS A RISK TO SMOKE SINCE THE GIRLS WILL NOT GO OUT WITH THEM IF THEY ARE KNOWN SMOKERS..

THE SICKNESS OF SMOKING IS TERRIBLE AND A STOP HAS TO COME TO IT.
