Wolf, the answer you get may not be so straight…the ToS were changed recently, i’m not sure when, but it was definitely after my request.

Mod 80, i was never given a specific reason other than editorial decision. My problem was with the reasons for the decision. (which are still unclear to me)As Adorable said, YW stands only to lose by keeping this up. As i said in a message to the editor, i write what i write l’toeles harabim, and i think that print publications can reach a wider audience. I wrote what i wrote to help people, and i want maximum exposure. If YW cares at all about the rabim then they should take it down.

Readers here like what i write. The articles and short stories I post here usually get tremendous response and much praise. I’m not bragging, I’m just saying that it is in YW’s best interests to keep me around and posting content. As i said above, I am withholding all future content until this thread is either removed, or until I approve it’s existence. Until then I will withhold any and all content that I may have posted here. I do in fact have stuff to share with the oilem here, but no one is going to see it until I get what I want.

That may sound petulant, and you can judge me if you want, but those are my terms. So now the question remains: Your pride, or your readers’ desires. I think your readers have spoken in this thread. Listen to them.

Why is it wrong of them? I gave them my content and asked them to publish. i was willing to relinquish rights to Mishpacha but not to Yeshiva World. The reason i posted it on YW was to get a feel of the response to the subject. Now, whether or not I’m right under the ToS of YW (before or after they were edited) is not relevant because I don’t want this to be a legal issue. I asked, as a favour, for the article to be removed. I didn’t think it was such an unreasonable request.

As for not giving YW any future content, he can do what he wants and not delete this, and I can do what I want and never post any more articles here. That’s just the way it is.

i submitted it to them. they said that they would have used it but at the same time i submitted it to them, they had teh same bright idea i had 😛 they started interviewing kids who had been raised under bipolar parents…so they didnt need teh article. so im submitting it to other magazines.

tahts not what happened…mishpacha basically told me that if its published anywhere else they may not be able to publish it. i wasnt sure if they meant online as well…so as a precaution i asked teh editor to remove it. this was all as a precaution…mishpacha never knew about it

The ToS were changed after i sent my request so im not sure whats true and whats nor and what i may or may not have agreed to. the point is not whether i have a lawsuit or not. its simple mentchlechkeit. he gains nothing by keeping it and everything by deleting it. i have a lot more content t5aht i could post here…similar to the above article. i will no longer be posting such material on this site anymore unless this thread is removed. i dont mind it being brought back when appropriate…i just want it down for a few weeks.

are you on the level of emuna and bitachon to truly believe and understand that hashem is teh source of all parnassah and that whether you work or not its up to him and no one else? if yes then i commend you and i wish you hatzlacha in kolel, if not…get a job and learn when you can.

shabbos is about menucha…rest…all that lovely jazz…lifting weights is not. now you may be right that technically its not assur, but then again neither is leaving your TV on for shabbos. so if you really want to lift weights youre gonna do it anyway so stop wasting time asking people on teh CR for justification.

the only possible reason i can think of is if you require some kind of physical therapy which includes a daily regiment of weight lifting. besides, why the heck can you not just wait until motzaei shabbos?

lik ei said, people dont like discussing the subject, but im sick and tired of people whispering about it as though it was cancer and they were refusing to mention “yenah machlah” IT EXISTS. DEAL WITH IT. i mean seriously…

nah…trust me its not worth teh agmas nefesh on my part to be on speaking terms with her. sometimes you just have to sever ties. im sick of teh roller coaster ride, id rather be a casual onlooker.

i can tell myself that its the “shaid” and move on…but it doesnt quite work like that. there are things that should never be said and never be done. basic things that should be hard wired into the consciousness of every human being regardless of teh state of that human being’s mind. i refuse to believe that what she said was involuntary, and if there was even a shred of coherence behind those statements and actions then i feel justified in writing her off permanently.

alzheimers is a different story because that is put off as the decline of old age. its never been stigmatized. up until teh 1970’s mental patients and those with downs syndrome were STILL being locked up in attics and institutions. some people still do that. i forget which magazine recently had a feature on teh Willowbrook State School, bu tthe conditions described there were common practice for such institutions. once willowbrook was exposed, peopel were shamed into taking charge, but the attitude has changed little.

i have so much more to write about the subject…about my experiences with teh mental health system in general…about the process involved in dealing with a patient…how to cope…i could write a book on teh subject. ideally i would write a series in one of teh prominent jewish magazines like Mishpacha, Ami, or Zman. in fact, i submitted this article to Mishpacha yesterday. i really hope they accept it. there is so much wrong with the entire system it boggles the mind.

that is why i am running for president of the united states. i promise you! that if you make me your next president i will pass legislation requiring posters to make you feel appreciated and loved! lol thanks for the compliment 😀 i cant believe someone actually read this after like a month…

you misunderstood my post though…it wasnt supposed to be the ramblings of a disturbed mind…or maybe it was and i just didnt realize it 😀

it was actually supposed to be a dramatization of a…for lack of a better term…”spontaneous cheshbon hanefesh” which can be scary. I mean think about it, reviewing your life, every action, everything you have ever done…who is perfect? and we’ve all had those moments we would give our right arms to take back. you know…that time you accidentally said something wildly insensitive…the time you did something stupid that hadterrible repercussions…it can be scary. especially when you consider how little we actually think about what we do.

pay attention at some point in your day…maybe when you have a conversation with someone at work…pa attention to what youre saying. pay attention to your responses. you respond quickly, but how well thought out are your answers? do they roll off your tongue like a predetermined response that you have become accustomed to from years of conversation? or do you actually consider it.

most people go through their day without paying any real attention to what they do. not that most people are mindless animatrons, rather that true thought isnt required. in other words you dont need your neshama (hear me out here before flipping out) to go through our day. your guf, on its own, is quite capable of taking care of that. but compare it to when youre getting very into a sugya…and the meforshim are piling up on your shtender…and youre getting close to a teretz…pay attention to how youre thinking and feeling. you WILL feel a difference. thats basically what im addressing. `

in my experience, student drivers are not required to change lanes in SI2 or havemeyer.

laurelton is so so, and long island is not easier, but the instructors may not be as mean…the sites are not as crowded as the ones in the 5 boroughs.

I work at a driving school…and io can tell you that going with an instructor means nothing. you passed and they failed because they couldnt drive and you can.

staten island, particularly mariners harbour “SI2” on the locations list, is the easiest place if you want local. dont take road tests in brookly, they are retarded. starett city has a lane change and a bunch of traffic.

havemeyer avenue in the bronx is probably the easiest place to go, but its an hour and a half drive so most driving schools dont go there.

your opinion on your driving skill is irrelevant, make sure to check with your instructor before scheduling a road test. it pays to wait a few weeks to make sure youre ready.

knowing how to drive in boro park will not help you on the road test, you have to know how to drive for a road test. be very careful with your checking before turns, parks, and K turns. the examiner has to KNOW you looked. saying you looked isnt enough…even if you DID look. you have to be obvious about it.

make sure your seatbelt is buckled before turning on teh engine. seatbelt, seat, and mirrors before turning the key. on the turns make sure you arent too wide, and dont hit the yellow line, that alone can take off 10 points.

if you botch the park, start again. that will probably cost you anywhere from 5-10 points but its worth it. feel free to correct your park as much as you want, becauyse once you shift into park youre stuck, and if youre too far, or touching the curb you can fail.

be careful with buses. if theres a bus coming at you make sure to give it enough space, i know people who failed because of that. dont drive too slow. dont be OVERLY cautious when doing turns especially left turns from a 2 way street (if thats nogea)

    and yeah…after 7 minutes its all over…hatzlacha 😀

it really IS shtick. i mean, is it really fair to judge people based on teh chitzoniyus? as long as they are dressed reasonably (befitting a tzelem elokim, in accordance with gadlus ha’adam and situation. IE jeans at work, or nice conservative shirt and non jeans teh rest of teh time) then i see no problem.

proof that its all shtick…ask yourself this question.

if you walked onto a bus and saw two groups of bochurim, one with white shirts, black hats, and jackets, and another with coloured shirts, and the guys over teh course of the trip you heard nivul peh from both groups. which would shock you more? now not all of you will give teh answer i expect, and to those people i say “shkoyach.” to teh rest of you, i hope you get the point.
