1) I know a guy called yosef who learnt in Brisk – by haGaon R’ Dovid Soloveitchik, and every time he said his name was yosef r’ Dovid said voss? YAYsaf.
2) They say that R’ Ovadia Yosef once met r’ dovid, and asked him if he says “yismach yisroel be’aisov!!!” (chOlam or chOYlam)
wot the smurf is wrong with these 2 posts
1) calls reb dovid HAGAON (a title with which few refer to him)
2) it’s typical of gedolim to say such things to one another like the rogerchover and the ohr someach or the kotzker

Owch that was the most coooorny line ive ever heard
It still hurts
blueprintsParticipantFirstly no u don’t need either 7 times or 2 hand (just lechatchila 2 hands 4 halel and ikur naanuim)
And secondly no one cares if u cut the line but the people who do normally push past and bump into everyone else in their ‘zerizus’ for the hakafos
A mentsch would stay where he is
I doubt any rov would cut the line if the kehilla was moving slowly
blueprintsParticipantI read them alright
But they didn’t say it like it should b sed
It is immature to spend hours a day in front of a screen accomplishing nothing
Unless ur a child who is just using up time

superlamdon-
Does anyone doubt that the percenteges of being married to the next big baal gaava are greatly increased if the boy learned in Brisk. In fact I would say that more ballei gaava are from brisk then all the other yeshivos combined.
So it Depends what your priorities are and which comes first.

blueprintsParticipant“SOMEONE WHO WAS SO SCARED OF AIR TRAVEL THEY NEVER WENT ON A PLANE”
There’s a story about an old lady who was very scared to fly for fear of terrorist bombs
One day she had to fly to get somewhere quick so she phoned the travel agents and asked them what the chances are of there being a bomb on a plane
They replied 1 in 75000
So she asked what are the chances of 2 bombs and they sed 1 in 99999999999
From that day on her fear of flying was cured
Whenever she flew she always brought a bomb on with her
blueprintsParticipantWe don’t have time for nothing
There’s a shidduch crisis a whole bunch of otd kids and a recession that we should be making hundreds upon hundreds of threads about discussing the topic and writing advice that everyone knows already repeated in different words by every different user until someone (joseph) says something very controversial or critical which leads to a big fight someone getting blocked and the thread being closed (deep breath in)
Take it from an old pro

Everyone is waiting for the first ever CR Vort. Get a big place because we are all coming. Because I am Conservative, I have been to many, many engagement parties, but I have never been to a vort – and I really would love to. (I also give nice gifts)

conservative and you daven in a minyan (quorum of 10 men – orthodox requirement I’m not sure if you can have women and children in conservative)
Is there a mechitza (partition) in your shul (temple)?
Have you ever been asked to be shatz (lead the prayers) or ever received an aliya latorah (

I am not telling you halacha l’maisah I’m just telling you what I think. I assume that the mitzvah of tzitzis is the same as the mitzvah of tefilin. Were it not for that Rov who went around we might only be putting on tzitzis once a day by Shachris like we do with tefillin today.
Me’ikar hadin we are supposed to wear tefillin all day, but we don’t because of guf naki. But tzitzis doesn’t need guf naki.
That’s all I know.

Theres only gonna be a bittul assay if you don’t wear tzitzis on a 4cornered garment

I would think repeating words is not proper. Also, I hate singing during davening.

I happen to love tunes in davening. Rav Moshe has a teshuva on this in which he says it isn’t proper to repeat words in davening, but that “Chazzanim will be chazzanim,” i.e. that if a chazzan repeats words, it’s not the end of the world. Incidentally, there is one instance in which you are supposed to remove the chazzan if he repeats a word, and that is if he repeats the word “Modim” in “Modim Anachnu Lach,” because to say “Modim Modim” would be to imply that we were agknowledging multiple gods chas veshalom.

blueprintsParticipantOkay, but even if he doesn’t marry her, that is the only punishment provided for what he did.
And why would she (or her father) want such a marriage, that that forced penalty is made available to her (or her father)?

doesn’t the Torah give a chiyuv momonus as well (like a motza shame ra)

Whos to say you haven’t paid for it whilst in the queue
And collected it afterwards
blueprintsParticipantDefinitely tell him
no question

I[ once lost my kuppel at the beginning of shacharis luckily it was only on the floor but still nerve-wracking]
blueprintsParticipantI’ve also heard something about it being assur to build muscles on Shabbos since it’s boneh. Not sure how reliable that is and I can’t remember the source.
Except it’s probably soser cos exercising destroys muscles which are rebuilt at rest

I, for one, think that anything that advocates breaking halacha, should be taken down and/or blocked. Anything that conforms to halacha, whether it’s “the law of the land” or not, should be allowed.

I mean imagine bein hazemanim and shul is packed with brochurim and you won’t find a seat within several rows from where you daven
Should you find a seat or make him ?
But a shul should have some benches or other where anyone can sit
That being sed don’t yell at him like the antagonist in the OP
