blueberrymuffinParticipantIf it’s gum – then I LOVE IT! I practically live on gum! Gum is to me what water is to most living creatures – I can’t survive without it!
blueberrymuffinParticipantCharlie – aw shuks! I think I missed the party! But did you at least discover any more long-lost Brown relatives?
blueberrymuffinParticipant“holy” cheese (I was gonna write “holed up” but then I decided that ppl might think I’m misspelling “hold up”!…)

blueberrymuffinParticipantThen the problem is in the parents being picky, not in the girl being smart.
Does that make them un single?!
You claim that most singles are dull/unintelligent. What I’m trying to show you is that there are many intelligent singles, regardless whether it’s because of their parents or not!
What does this have to do with their parents being picky?! Point is – saying that the reason girls are still single is because they’re not smart, is simply not true! As I pointed out before there are many reasons why a person would still be single at 25…

blueberrymuffinParticipantcharlie – Mr.Brown was hiding in the bushes as the story unfolded and recounted the tale to his children. He called it “The Mystery Story” and always ended with, “How does anyone know the story if both were killed…?”
His children passed it on to their children, their children to their children…..until grandchild Charlie Brown posted the story on YW and Blueberrymuffin solved the mystery!
THE END
How does blueberrymuffin know this?
Now, that’s the mystery!
blueberrymuffinParticipantThey each realized what the other had been doing and they attacked and killed each other.
Now, how did they manage to do that?!
blueberrymuffinParticipantI’d rather they post moderators’ hours but as I’ve gleaned from the “Moderators’ Hours” thread, it’s classified info!
blueberrymuffinParticipantI’d have a lot of fun reading everyone’s posts!
blueberrymuffinParticipantBut in general, the smartest girls will get married off faster than their less intellectually gifted peers.
That can’t be further from the truth! Very often the reason a girl will have a hard time finding her zivug is because her parents want a boy who will be perfect enough for their perfect daughter. That means that the girl is smart, outgoing , pretty etc… I personally know many such girls and they are all smarter/sharper than a lot of their married classmates.

blueberrymuffinParticipantIt’s true that as of yet there are no well-known single speakers. But if you feel you have what to give (or know other singles who do) why don’t you offer your services? You might be surprised to find out that people do value what you have to say…
BTW- a couple of years ago, in camp, we had an amazing inspirational single speaker

blueberrymuffinParticipantI do try to remember to compliment as often as I can. A word of caution though: Don’t compliment too much- it may make people feel stupid…This is the case with one of my friends. She compliments me on everything I say- I’ll want to tell her something that happened to me when I was volunteering for a local organization and she’ll say something like “you’re so nice for doing that etc.”- ok fine. But then she’ll want to know why I’m so busy so I’ll tell her that I started tutoring…and of course she says ” wow, you’re amazing blah blah”. This is how the conversation goes…and all I could think of is, “Can I tell you about my life WITHOUT feeling like you think I’m fishing for compliments?”…
I probably don’t sound so clear here – it’s hard to explain the feeling, though…

That’s funny cuz I thought a Harry is someone who is very typical, very standard (as in “a regular Harry”)!
