aries i agree a thousand percent!
Also just to add on to my previous post im not saying that there is no credibility to what they are saying- if you trust your sibling and sometimes they “know” its not going to work thats fine but if its a constant thing everytime a shidduch is redt and its nixed by this same sibling maybe there is something wrong, and its time not to listen and do your own checking.
mayan- i hear you but there are some ppl who get together at one location to make the calls you know less boring or whatever. But there can be thousands of reasons why the CID doesn’t match up. In any case, if you don’t feel comfy you can just mail in a small donation to that org.
Someone lent them to me and i was very impressed by it! They are intelectual and extremely interesting articles and are geared more for adult reading.
Sometimes you can never tell, i thought shimmel was a male you know just the type and i was wrong! Also Hello Kitty i was positive was a female and he wasn’t! You’ll just have to wonder till they slip up and drop a hint.

the problem is that many of the siblings mean well and want the best for their brother/sister but sometimes it can be detrimental. I’ve read a shidduch once and a sibling knew the person i was redding and the answer i was told – i can see the personalities match but nah i dont think so… And that was that the mother didn’t pursue it at all! i am still wondering what she meant. And i know a few more who really mean well but they just want the BEST for their sibling and they want a perfect person.

I once was making “tzedaka calls” to, and i tried to be careful not to be too pushy. A much as the organization needs money its not mantschlich to be pushy. Its hard for people to admit that they dont have the money especially if they were previous donors.
Just a little off topic, but the ppl that answer the phone have to be mentschlich too. I’ve got some nasty ones even though only called them once, or they would refer me to their husband phone who would then tell me to call at a specific time, then no answer… It was just not worth it to pursue!

don’t know if its a pet peeve per se, but if i make avocado and there is a little brown on it, i can’t eat it (unless i take out a huge chunk that was near it even if that is not brown!)

aries- i know i know, i was just joking! Anyway a good tip- set yourself some small rules that you can stick to. Lets say for example dont eat after 8, or drink 8-10 cups of water daily. so if you went off on your diet but kept to this its still a score for you and then you wont feel so guilty. Good luck!!
