So basically, its half and half. Some don’t have cleaning help and some do. So my advice- either way is fine but I wouldn’t advise you to think less of the ppl who do have cleaning help and are struggling, because some of them really want to support the yeshivohs and they do give up a lot to do so. So in response to your question- would you tell such a family to only eat bread and water even though they will save a lot of $ by doing so? Of course not. They might buy cheaper foods and shop in cheaper stores. So the same is here, ppl give up certain things and if giving up their cleaning lady once a week is not one of it- thats fine too.

What can I say? I”H when you will have a large family, maybe you will understand.

SJS- You mentioned you have 2 kids- so of course i can understand why for you cleaning help is a luxury. However, I don’t think you can say a struggling family of 8 or whatever should give up their cleaning help for tuition. No matter how much e/o pitches in to help, it makes life a lot easier to have the extra help.

I don’t have it on me now, but bli neder I will check it out at home.

SJS- I don’t see why maintaining a healthy household has to be the deciding factor between paying your tuition or not. I guess we will just have to disagree on this one 🙂

SJS- Just because you are managing its not a set rule for e/o. I know large families where money is a bit tight, and there is cleaning help once a week, and yes, everyone pitches in to help clean too- its just not enough. They dont go on major vacations, and certainly don’t have fancy homes, cars….

SJS- so is it better that kids come home to a messy home, a frustrated tired mother who is trying to keep a clean home? I do agree that when money is owed to schools, you have to let go on some luxuries- but cleaning help is not one of them.

When you say cleaning help are you also reffering to ones that come once/twice a week?

How would your grandparents feel if the Germans would build a nice religious builing right next to Auschwitz… There has to be a line whats considered freedom of religion.

What I find scary about this whole thing is they’ll build one mosque, than another and another….and than they will literally just take over!

I actually know some schools in Brooklyn that are opening much later then other schools due to lack of funds.

Would you consider schools in Brooklyn, I know some ppl who did it and they had carpool. Either way Hatzlacha Rabbah- and continue davening!

I Can Only Try- thanks for bringing this idea up. Lets all do our part to bring more zechusim for klal Yisroel. Who knows? Maybe its our achdus that needs to be strengthened.

AZ- I mentioned a solution earlier in the thread ill repost it here.- The chairs are there in the other room just not e/o sees it/wants to see it. These chairs are the chipped and shabby chairs but are still strong and standing straight. (meaning ppl think they are “damaged goods” and don’t want to consider them, but in reality they are very good chairs)

That could be a contributing factor. I personally know s/o who went out with s/o and said no for a stupid reason, and a few years later went out again and are married now. SOmetimes you have to overlook certain things. The theory with the age gap may be another factor- but i don’t think its a strong reason whats causing the problem.
