Mazel Tov!!!! Such great news recently!
blinkyParticipantYes, I heard this story too. It brings out the point beautfully.
blinkyParticipantHashemLovesMe, i also like his pics. But where is Wolf- i haven’t seen him in awhile….?
blinkyParticipantYour welcome- its beautiful and unique.
August 30, 2010 6:43 pm at 6:43 pm in reply to: It's Almost September… Does every child have a school? #693845blinkyParticipantSo basically, its half and half. Some don’t have cleaning help and some do. So my advice- either way is fine but I wouldn’t advise you to think less of the ppl who do have cleaning help and are struggling, because some of them really want to support the yeshivohs and they do give up a lot to do so. So in response to your question- would you tell such a family to only eat bread and water even though they will save a lot of $ by doing so? Of course not. They might buy cheaper foods and shop in cheaper stores. So the same is here, ppl give up certain things and if giving up their cleaning lady once a week is not one of it- thats fine too.
August 30, 2010 6:18 pm at 6:18 pm in reply to: It's Almost September… Does every child have a school? #693840blinkyParticipantAre they struggling with tuition? Do they have cleaning help?
P.s. Sorry, what was the question?
August 30, 2010 6:08 pm at 6:08 pm in reply to: It's Almost September… Does every child have a school? #693838blinkyParticipantWhat can I say? I”H when you will have a large family, maybe you will understand.
blinkyParticipantAGREED!!?@?#!*!@%?*/!!!!! (well not as good as the other ones but it was all i could think of now)
August 30, 2010 3:53 pm at 3:53 pm in reply to: It's Almost September… Does every child have a school? #693836blinkyParticipantSJS- You mentioned you have 2 kids- so of course i can understand why for you cleaning help is a luxury. However, I don’t think you can say a struggling family of 8 or whatever should give up their cleaning help for tuition. No matter how much e/o pitches in to help, it makes life a lot easier to have the extra help.
blinkyParticipantnoitall- Im not into photography but i do appreciate nice photos- Where was #8 taken?
blinkyParticipantI don’t have it on me now, but bli neder I will check it out at home.
blinkyParticipantthe.nurse- i am no way saying to wear skirts, i myself exercise in shorts and a tee shirt. My point was that some ppl use exercise as an excuse to dress even more revealing than that and i don’t think that is appropriate.
blinkyParticipantMazel Tov! its so nice to hear great news.
noitallmr- in response to your question- The answer is yes!
blinkyParticipantWow! Mazel Tov!!! Lets hope its catchy….
August 27, 2010 5:01 pm at 5:01 pm in reply to: It's Almost September… Does every child have a school? #693806blinkyParticipantSJS- I don’t see why maintaining a healthy household has to be the deciding factor between paying your tuition or not. I guess we will just have to disagree on this one 🙂
blinkyParticipantSJS- we might teach that we are the chosen nation and everything, but we don’t go prancing it and terrorizing everone because we are the elite.
August 27, 2010 4:33 pm at 4:33 pm in reply to: It's Almost September… Does every child have a school? #693800blinkyParticipantSJS- Just because you are managing its not a set rule for e/o. I know large families where money is a bit tight, and there is cleaning help once a week, and yes, everyone pitches in to help clean too- its just not enough. They dont go on major vacations, and certainly don’t have fancy homes, cars….
blinkyParticipantHahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!! (Thompson and Thompson were my favorite guys)
blinkyParticipantDisagreeing 🙁 (sorry)
I don’t see that swimming and execising fall under the same category (in regards to the dress code)
blinkyParticipantI love Tintin!!! (and HP too!), but i think d a was looking for Jewish novels.
August 27, 2010 4:00 pm at 4:00 pm in reply to: It's Almost September… Does every child have a school? #693791blinkyParticipantSJS- so is it better that kids come home to a messy home, a frustrated tired mother who is trying to keep a clean home? I do agree that when money is owed to schools, you have to let go on some luxuries- but cleaning help is not one of them.
blinkyParticipant“Dont really get whats going on here- if there are only women in the gym than why should it be worse than swimming????”
Just to add my 2 cents- the accepted way of swimming is in a bathing suit. With exercise however, there is no set way. Some dress completely tzniyus while others dress in a more comfortable attire- tee shirt… (which i think is OK, as long as its really not so skimpy)
August 27, 2010 3:47 pm at 3:47 pm in reply to: It's Almost September… Does every child have a school? #693788blinkyParticipantWhen you say cleaning help are you also reffering to ones that come once/twice a week?
blinkyParticipantIm all with you- see my previous post
blinkyParticipantHow would your grandparents feel if the Germans would build a nice religious builing right next to Auschwitz… There has to be a line whats considered freedom of religion.
August 27, 2010 2:46 pm at 2:46 pm in reply to: It's Almost September… Does every child have a school? #693784blinkyParticipant“Therefore, your tuition is your investment in your child: there is absolutely nothing (short of bare necessities) that could possibly be more important than that! How can people even think of paying for vacations, massive simchos, fancy cars/house/clothes etc, before paying for their children’s chinuch?! Where are their priorities?! Where are their brains?! What on earth are they thinking?!”
mw13- I don’t think this is the underlying factor why schools don’t have money. Its true that some ppl do spend money that they don’t have on other things, but its not a general rule. Some ppl just dont have the money. And they are not the ppl who have the fancy homes…
blinkyParticipantWhat I find scary about this whole thing is they’ll build one mosque, than another and another….and than they will literally just take over!
blinkyParticipant“Be warned that you’ll be seeing double from now on!”
All he has to do is look at your screen name….
blinkyParticipantapushatayid- Ok so I agree with you that you can wear shorts and a tee shirt to exercise, but what about something thats more revealing than that? Meaning, do you think that s/o can wear whatever they want, or does some tzniyus still apply?
blinkyParticipantThanks for the update!
blinkyParticipantI actually know some schools in Brooklyn that are opening much later then other schools due to lack of funds.
blinkyParticipantSJS- its not just Lkwd that has problems
blinkyParticipantapushatayid- there is no set “derech” of how to dress while exercising. Some ppl are more tzniyus then others.
By the way the reason I mentioned Zumba was bec. of the type of exercise it is- not the dress code.
blinkyParticipantMod. What does a shower/bathtub have to do with a/t?
blinkyParticipantWould you consider schools in Brooklyn, I know some ppl who did it and they had carpool. Either way Hatzlacha Rabbah- and continue davening!
blinkyParticipantI wasn’t commenting on the gym at all- bec. i was commenting on your post which you mentioned the home. But I would definitly say the same is for the gym too- Some tzniyus still applies.
blinkyParticipantI think what Chosson is saying is true that in your own home there still is an issue of tzniyus- but i think that for exercising you can dress more comfortably- but to an extent. Meaning a tee shirt and pants, as long as ervah does not show.
blinkyParticipantNew York Yid- You mentioned Zumba classes. For those of you who don’t know what Zumba is- its a certain excersize that has horrible music, along with horrible, provocative moves. Actually in certain places i know it was assured. There is nothing wrong with exercise but you can acheive the same results by choosing one that doe not sound as if your coming straight from a real goyish place.
blinkyParticipantI agree with your post- except for the music part. I don’t see anything wrong with using non jewish music- as long a it doesn’t sound like its coming from a reall pritzus place. Fast, beaty music (not rocky) can do the job too.
blinkyParticipantdunno- sorry, its just one of my words that i can never get straight…but back on topic do you think it is ok to let down all of tznius guidelines for excersize whoops I mean exercise (its a very bad habit!), or should there be a certain awareness of how much to let go- obviously i don’t expect ppl to exercise in their everyday clothing.
blinkyParticipantnoitallmr- LOL
You never know why she signs it off like that- maybe you should double check and ask her…maybe not:)
blinkyParticipantIt just fits everywhere.
p.s. Someone i know thought it stood for lots of love. lol:)
blinkyParticipantspooky, no? When I was doing it- i knew there was a catch so I did it really carefully…but I got 5.
Its bec. for some reason your brain doesn’t process the word “of”-
blinkyParticipantAnyone?
blinkyParticipantLook at this paragraph and on your first try, count every ” F ” in the following text:
FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS…
How many did you get? (on your first try)
blinkyParticipantbein hasdorim-hahahahahaha. Btw, in general, not just for dating, girls should not wear too much makeup regardless.
August 23, 2010 7:23 pm at 7:23 pm in reply to: Mochel Loch… time to forgive and be forgiven! #1184873blinkyParticipantI Can Only Try- thanks for bringing this idea up. Lets all do our part to bring more zechusim for klal Yisroel. Who knows? Maybe its our achdus that needs to be strengthened.
I am mochel and hope e/o will be mochel me in case I, as BP Totty wrote, “ruffled a few feathers” (sorry i couldn’t thimk of how else to put it:)

blinkyParticipantAZ- I mentioned a solution earlier in the thread ill repost it here.- The chairs are there in the other room just not e/o sees it/wants to see it. These chairs are the chipped and shabby chairs but are still strong and standing straight. (meaning ppl think they are “damaged goods” and don’t want to consider them, but in reality they are very good chairs)
That could be a contributing factor. I personally know s/o who went out with s/o and said no for a stupid reason, and a few years later went out again and are married now. SOmetimes you have to overlook certain things. The theory with the age gap may be another factor- but i don’t think its a strong reason whats causing the problem.
blinkyParticipantGood Shabbos everybody!!!! Enjoy the last/ second to last Shabbos of the summer- as many ppl are already coming home next week! Wow time flew!
