WIY- thanks for the advice! I actually have been exercising for a number of years, and haven’t had any problems. I am careful to warnm up, and cool down, as well as doing pretty safe exercises. But it definitely is important to make sure it won’t be harmful.

If s/t sounds unkosher say nicely that you are trying to be careful with what you hear and this sounds like s/t that might lead to lashon hara so lets talk about something else…( thats what I do and many times the person stops)

I suppose women can do push ups. Its just they tend not to reside in 11219!

    BP- thats right I don’t:)

Though I have a confession- i do them from my knees but slowly im graduating to my toes, but boy it still works!!

pasta, rice…( I feel like I just wrote this for the tisha bav thread) A good tip- don’t overstuff yourself by the seudas hamafsekes. I found that when i went into the fast overstuffed i had a harder fast the next day.

SJS- if your rav permits you to not wear stockings then for you its fine. I think though that Mr. 80 was commenting on tzniyus in general, which I think portrays tzniyus beautifully.

Also I think in scenario 1 the man definitely was a contributing factor in being robbed.

Not all judging is negative, there is also the concept of judging favorably.

Also, judging can bring about positive change. For example if you judge s/o who is not acting appropriately and you think to yourself that you don’t want to be like that and you change- thats good.

A doctor told my sibling to stand against a wall and slowly crouch down keeping their back touching the wall, and then slowly stand up also still touching the wall. Do it like 5 times, twice a day (if I remember correctly) He said its great for improving posture and it did! Good Luck!

I was at a shabbos teshuva drasha this past shabbos from Rabbi Fischel Schacter, and just one of the points that were mentioned that I thought is really applicable- Any tough situation someone is in- they have two choices- they can either be all mad about it and cause a whole ruckus, or they can smile and make the best of it. And he summarized with an amazing story- How this girl was in a fire and her face was heavily scarred. And in school, a girl made fun of her, and she came home crying and really feeling low. Her grandmother told her to take the pain that shes feeling and use it to daven for a shidduch being that it is going to be harder for her. Anyway she did and she got married to an amazing boy who did not have any defects and even ppl were anazed how she managed to get such a gem. The point was so beatuiful that i thoght its s/t nice i would share.

Its really crazy about the holocaust because as the generations go on, its so easy for the world to manipulate what really happened.

P.s. Hey Mr. 80- did you remove a ? from emoticons post? Isn’t that overeacting? Or is it just me you do it by 🙂

so right- A) its a straight skirt so its not like i can forget about it because its not so flairy so i feel it everytime i would get in. b) its a new skirt- i was only in a car once since i got it so i can’t say how hard it is to fix it.

Its so hard because e/t i buy i try it on standing and sitting to make sure its tzniyus, but there are no cars in a dressing room! I can’t return it but im thinking of maybe wearing it just for shabbos (its that kind of skirt that can be worn for weekday and shabbos) so i won’t have to worry about cars.

“The honest answer (which you may not want to hear) is that the skirt is too short for you.”

so right- i appreciate your response, but im just wondering if there is any leniences here being that it covers all the time except getting into a car- like if i would be conscious to lets say hold it down so it won’t uncover my knees?

Im in a dillemma. Im very concious to make sure my skirts cover my knee at all times. I just bought a very nice straight skirt- when im standing it covers way below my knee (at least 4 inches) And when im sitting it also covers. But when i got into a car my skirt rode up a little to make me feel uncomfortable. I really like the skirt and it covers all the time its just cars thats the problem. I don’t know what to do. I don’t think lengthening it will help. Is it wrong to wear it and just be extra careful while getting in a car?

    Hasof sof haschalas sh’mi

    Haschalas sof sof sh’mi

    Sim Noach bateiva vezeh sh’mi

    What is the name?

who says reshaim don’t have a bad life? Rasha v’tov lo- again, reshaim CAN have it bad- its not a general rule that all reshaim have it good.

Im not sure im understanding- Tzadik vrah lo does not mean that only tzaddikim can have it bad, it means that they can have bad- not all tzaddikim have bad, and ppl that are not tzaddikim can have it bad tto.
