October 5, 2010 4:57 pm at 4:57 pm in reply to: Shidduchim, What do girls look for in a boy? #700811blinkyParticipantmidwest-yidd- Welcome to the “club”
blinkyParticipant“I know this is a random question but what does Cold-Eeze taste like?”
its hard to describe its sweet tasting that makes your mouth feel dryish. I found that it got rid of the cold but it sort of pushed it off for another time, but its worth it. Just be careful to get the ones with the hechshher as not all of them have it. Refuah Shelaima!
October 5, 2010 4:29 pm at 4:29 pm in reply to: How to keep kids out of the way before yom tov #698727blinkyParticipantHey mod 80 why didn’t you change your name yet?
(p.s. you can change mine too, its getting kind of boring)
October 5, 2010 4:02 pm at 4:02 pm in reply to: Shidduchim, What do girls look for in a boy? #700806blinkyParticipantMiddos is first on my list.
having a good rav that he follows, and respect for jewish values, and flexibility are among others….
blinkyParticipantSorry i meant kuf lamed ches (not tes) till kuf nun
blinkyParticipantreminds me of a joke i heard.
The president wanted to know how jews know everything so fast. His advisor says- its because they go around and say “vus titsach” (“vusineiyez” works too) to everyone and thats how news travels around. So the prez decides secretly to dress like a Jew and go to brooklyn (sorry out of towners but thats how the joke went) and go around saying it to Jewish ppl so he can find out news. Sure enough he gets off the plane and asks the first jewish guy he sees “nu vus titsach”. The guy whispers back “THE PRESIDENT IS IN BROOKLYN!!!”
blinkyParticipantSqueak- thanx! The person who gave me this riddle said there are actually 2 ways how to do it, so if youd like you can figure out the 2nd way….
October 4, 2010 7:50 pm at 7:50 pm in reply to: How to keep kids out of the way before yom tov #698726blinkyParticipantMod 80- “im only 10 years old (a prodigy)
my grandfather told me all about it”
Then you gotta change your name to hayeled 80
BP Totty- thanx for the info
blinkyParticipant“What about Shabbos makeup – does anyone use that?”
I happen to use the blush from reflections, and so far no complaints. You just have to make sure your face doesn’t have any residue from any other makeup as well as the brush that you use to apply it.
blinkyParticipantIll add on from best bubby- kuf lamed tes till kuf nun bli neder.
blinkyParticipantHey ICOT you are right (i guess mod 80 had a point when he said u are never wrong)
ill have to figure it out again unless s/o can do it for me here…
blinkyParticipantWhen buying flowers for Shabbos, I try to go to the stands that are owned by Jewish ppl, even if in other places its nicer.
blinkyParticipantICOT- the answer to the riddle (in plain english)is:
key- C= Cannibal
W= Whiteman
1C and 1W cross and 1C comes back
2C crosses and 1W comes back
2W crosses and 1C and 1W comes back
2W crosses and 1C comes back
2C crosses and 1C comes back
2C crosses
(the riddle was from before yom tov so here it is again, You have 3 canniballs and 3 whitemen that have to cross a river. They have one boat that can hold 2 ppl.
How is it that they can all get across (don’t forget that s/o has to bring the boat back) but at any time on either side there can’t be more cannibals than whitemen?)
blinkyParticipantI won’t have internet access till after sukkos, so wishing everyone a beautiful, and healthy Yom Tov!!!
blinkyParticipantDoc, are you talking to me?
blinkyParticipantThank you Minyan, you too!
blinkyParticipantI had gone to the doctor around sukkos time, and the doctor (who was not Jewish) said, “It must be so much fun your religion, you get to eat in a hut for a week!”
blinkyParticipantICOT- did you get an updated answer yet?
blinkyParticipantWe took 7 little jars and filled it with all the shivas haminim and hang it on the ceiling- its also nice and creative
blinkyParticipantOh right! How kind of you:)
blinkyParticipantmr. 80 why don’t you try to figure it out so you can prove ICOT wrong?
blinkyParticipantThere is a first time for e/t
blinkyParticipantStars- our sukkah is full of them!!!
blinkyParticipantICOT- Sorry wrong answer- 3) 1 C and 1 Marauding Imperialist (MI) take the boat across the river.
That means that there are 2C’s and one MI are on that side- no good
September 21, 2010 5:15 pm at 5:15 pm in reply to: Respect: Why many dont have any and how to change? #697703blinkyParticipantI was just commenting in general on an observation that i noticed.
Some of the parents who were respectful of the yeshiva and spoke respectfully, their kids were the same way. I had a parent come in ranting and raving about the yeshiva, and spoke disrespectfully to the principal….well you can guess how their kids were….. Its not a general rule but i do find it sometimes.
September 21, 2010 5:08 pm at 5:08 pm in reply to: Respect: Why many dont have any and how to change? #697701blinkyParticipantA lot has to do with the parents. If the parents are respectfully than usually it filters down to the children. When I was working in a yeshiva, and I met some parents I was able to tell right away where their kids got their attitudes from- positive or negative.
blinkyParticipantWIY- I am impressed! Did you kow it beforehand or u really figured it out:)
Here is another one (not sure if it was posted alrady)
You have 3 canniballs and 3 whitemen that have to cross a river. They have one boat that can hold 2 ppl.
How is it that they can all get across (don’t forget that s/o has to bring the boat back) but at any time on either side there can’t be more cannibals than whitemen?
September 21, 2010 3:12 pm at 3:12 pm in reply to: How to keep kids out of the way before yom tov #698715blinkyParticipantoh and by the way, if you really want to know who I am…. ask Lois Lane!
BP Totty- don’t know who that is, I guess you are lucky!
blinkyParticipantI tried this by Rosh Hashana and it really worked- after each seuda i took a walk around the block, as it gave a chance for the food to digest before i went to sleep. I felt lighter the whole Yom Tov, not that nauseas and heavy feeling i had s/t had.
blinkyParticipantOk dr. pepper, i went home and got a more sophisticated riddle for you (or a/o else)
A boss pays his worker one pound of gold each day. However he only has 7 pounds of gold that are attached. The boss can only make 2 cuts in the bar. Where should he make the cut so that his worker gets exactly whats owed to him per day???
September 20, 2010 9:47 pm at 9:47 pm in reply to: How to keep kids out of the way before yom tov #698710blinkyParticipantBP Totty- you said it so often, i might call the child abuse ppl after you!!!! ( I even have contact information- you are from BP, you are a totty, and you are from 11219!)
blinkyParticipantNice! when i got it i was like trying to figure out a whole calculation that would have made my math teacher proud and in the whole time it was pretty easy. Ok ill have to find a more sophisticated one.
blinkyParticipantDoc heres one for you (its not as sophisticated as the other ones but it kept me going for awhile…)
What comes next?
st nd rd ?
September 20, 2010 9:08 pm at 9:08 pm in reply to: What we are truly missing in this generation #697634blinkyParticipantWIY- you are on a roll today….how many threads did you start???
blinkyParticipantDr Pepper- yup I also noticed that you don’t post in posts that are controversial (very commendable)
However, your “high school” riddle can cause controversy, as i don’t think its on high school level:)
blinkyParticipantDr. Pepper- do you like love riddles???? When its already off the rcent post list, I can always count on you to bring it up again….( just my observation)
blinkyParticipantICOT- thank you, its really s/t to think about.
blinkyParticipantOr did you finish picking out pictures for your wedding album??
blinkyParticipantShindy- thats in the menu already! ( I also have a great cucumber salad recipe, but you can post yours anyway for the other CR readers!)
Also a fruit salad at the start of a meal is also very good!
September 20, 2010 7:44 pm at 7:44 pm in reply to: How to keep kids out of the way before yom tov #698701blinkyParticipantPerhaps the older kids can take the younger ones to the park or something…B’hatzlacha!
blinkyParticipantC’mon does anyone have any good ideas?? I’m desperate!
September 20, 2010 3:29 pm at 3:29 pm in reply to: What is the purpose of girls going to Seminary? #697509blinkyParticipantWIY- are you reffering to seminary in Israel or just sem in general?
