blackhatwannabeParticipant
We are looking for something kosher and fun where we can find minyan and food, without having to look at pritzus. Also my wife is pregnant so we cannot do as many fun things. We are looking for something that is close to New York or up to travelling five hr. car ride.
blackhatwannabeParticipantIm looking for yeshivish.
blackhatwannabeParticipantBut isnt it just a minhag
blackhatwannabeParticipantBut lets say it will be a tircha for the tzibur to do pictures after plus there will be extra tension for the parents to do photoshopping, is it worth it to break minha yisrael? additionally, there will be less pictures then if not before the chuppah
blackhatwannabeParticipantIts crazy how we need to fit everything in one bag-what are essentials that must be brought with us?
blackhatwannabeParticipantBut what is the reason why the chassan and kallah only take pictures after the chuppah and not before? It can become a tircha for the guests and there would be less pictures being taken
blackhatwannabeParticipantI am looking for songs for my wedding iyH. I heard using “V’Hi She’amdah” for Mi Von Siach is beautiful. What do you think?
blackhatwannabeParticipantIs there a halachik signficance to doing pictures after the chuppah? Why dont people do pictures beforehand? What is minhag ha’olam?
blackhatwannabeParticipantAgreed but I just wanted to know the basis behind your opinion.
blackhatwannabeParticipantWIY-I hear your point and that is why I questioned ObstacleIllusion. ObstacleIllusion-I am still waiting to hear your Halachik basis.
blackhatwannabeParticipantObstacleIllusion-what Halachik basis is there for that? What is your source?
blackhatwannabeParticipantWhat is the minimum amount of tznius one must have in the pool and walking outside the pool? What type of swimsuit is allowed within the boundaries of Halacha (For example, lets say one wants to swim laps and a shorter tighter swimsuit is preferred)?
blackhatwannabeParticipantObstacleIllusion-Good point Should one have tznius in a mikvah or lockeroom? Should he try to be covered up at all time? If not, then what is the minimum level of tznius, whether it is a mikvah or lockeroom or pool?
blackhatwannabeParticipantSam2-I was referring to wedding gifts
blackhatwannabeParticipantSupposedly I heard this tune can be used for Menucha V’Simcha. So this tune can be used for both sad and happy times.
blackhatwannabeParticipantI have heard people use simcha leiner’s Kol Berama to walk down to and thats a sad song.
blackhatwannabeParticipantBut even the tune is beautiful-changes a sad song into a beautiful joyous song.
blackhatwannabeParticipantI didnt think the Chevra was so good-weird dance moves and a little bit off key.
blackhatwannabeParticipantDo people get short sides and longer on the top and front? Is that short enough for sefirah?
blackhatwannabeParticipantI am talking about for a guy/ yeshiva bochur
blackhatwannabeParticipantSaw a yeshiva bochur who was half yeshivish half Modern orthodox On one side, his head was shaved with peyos and was black and white with a velvet kippa. On the other side was hair grown out with a srugi and he was wearing a tshirt and jeans. It was all sewed together pefectly.
blackhatwannabeParticipantYes-four months engagement We are looking for something cheap. Janglo’s apartments were a little expensive.
blackhatwannabeParticipantThank you but not yet I am planning to be there for the summer with her and was just looking for a rental apartment there, preferably in Ramot Eshkol. Any ideas?
blackhatwannabeParticipantI think I rather a tutor
blackhatwannabeParticipantTrue…but I still dont know how and where to get an apartment
blackhatwannabeParticipantObstacleIllusion-I hear what u said-the styles have changed and that is pretty much what everyone is wearing now.
blackhatwannabeParticipantI didnt mean tight-just meant not baggy
blackhatwannabeParticipantWhat is the issue with semi-tight pants, but not super tight, if they fit well?
blackhatwannabeParticipantShpitz black pants that fit well-sometime tight but not too tight
blackhatwannabeParticipantI have seen yeshiva guys dressing fashionably before-nice shoes, nice pants, nice glasses, etc.
blackhatwannabeParticipantBrony-what is Nosson Stein’s What does it mean three and eight in front?
blackhatwannabeParticipantPlus I have seen in some yeshivas that are makpid in making sure that their talmidim are dressed appropriately, even in the newest styles.
blackhatwannabeParticipantAgree that my statement was a little ridiculous, but I am sure a ben Torah should be dressed in a kavodik manner, whatever he defines that as.
blackhatwannabeParticipantBut shouldnt someone have the look of a ben Torah? Wasn’t that the whole mahalach of Slobodka-to look in a respectable fashion.
blackhatwannabeParticipantAlso what does one say in the barber shop, especially with the peyos region?
blackhatwannabeParticipantWhat is the most litvish style?
blackhatwannabeParticipantWhy are the strands of hair behind the ear meaningless? It seems like a chumra to avoid the barber mistakenly cutting the portion behind the ear and the sideburns too short
blackhatwannabeParticipantHow can barbers trim around the ear with a clipper less than a 2? I see barbers trim and fix that region with no clip on it.
blackhatwannabeParticipantWhat makes a person keep peyos behind the ear? Does he keep from the temple of the head or just close to the ear?
blackhatwannabeParticipantHow many white shirts and black pants would I need?
blackhatwannabeParticipantThanks WIY! Great description. Isn’t a 2 on the sides too short for the peyos region especially on the sideburns and behind the ear lobe?
blackhatwannabeParticipantBasically you suggest a buzzcut with peyos behind the ear. What size buzz? Why do I see a lot of guys with chup?
blackhatwannabeParticipantI want to just start thinking about what to bring, especially in the summer when its very hot.
blackhatwannabeParticipantWhy no chup?
blackhatwannabeParticipantHow do u keep a chup and make it stand up with straightish hair?
blackhatwannabeParticipantBehind the ear or out in front? I see a lot of people with a spiked up chup in front and their hat on the back of their forehead-is that the normal look nowadays?
blackhatwannabeParticipantWhat is “chup”? Isnt size 2 short for peyos reasons?
blackhatwannabeParticipantWhat is a classic Yeshivishe haircut?
blackhatwannabeParticipantHow do you move your feet smoothly on the dance floor without hitting the feet in front of you?
blackhatwannabeParticipantWhat about bathing suits? How do you go about walking in a manner of dignity and a degree of self-effacement?
