You do need to know the material for the PCAT exam. Even if you earned a low grade in class your best option is to study And do well on the PCAT.

Meno, even if you transfer colleges and your old grades are only listed as transfer credits I am pretty sure you will need to submit transcripts from all colleges attended when you apply to pharmacy school so they will see your old grades.

As with all Touro graduate programs the only Jewish part is that it’s closed on Yom Tov/shabbos (not even sure about chol hamoed) and they give you the option not to do rotation on shabbos. Most of the class isn’t frum.

“just its mostly for jews which is probably why its fully accrediated.”

    What does that mean.

Lander college for women is considered to be “better” and more academic than the Flatbush division.

Health, not sure where you are getting your information from. The notion that “it’s Touro it must be bad” is false, many Touro students, including pre med ones, do very well and go to prestigious graduate programs.

Huju, law schools don’t have pre med programs.

Epithelium lines body cavities and are selectively permeable.

Connective does exactly what it sounds like,it connects organs and other tissue.

Muscle allows for movement by a series of contractions.

Nervous makes up the nervous system and allows the body send and receive electrical and chemical signals to and from the brain.

    Question for you Sparkly,

Do you know the different sub categories of these tissues, and how to identify them?

“pharmacists fill up pill bottles and talk about medicine all day long and get paid lots of money.”

This maybe more true in a retail pharmacy. However, in a hospital, pharmacists are much more involved in the medical process and deciding which medications should be prescribed (although the DR. gets the final say.)

I’d also like to point out that some people enjoy being active and can’t sit behind a desk, it doesn’t reflect on your intelligence in any way.

Sparkly Your statement that everyone needs college is false. A UPS driver is the perfect example. There are plenty of people who won’t be successful in college, for a variety of reasons, therefore, going to college would be a waste of time and money.

Sparkly, you know not everyone is cut out for college, and anyways $29 an hour is pretty good money.

MsPrincess- Touro has many divisions, only the ave j night program and LCM/LCW are separate for Men and women. All the rest, including all the graduate schools are coed. The environment is like any other college.

Im not sure how to measure the difficulty of a profession, but there is a reason why a doctoral program is 5-7 years.

Just because you are better at math than psychology doesn’t make mean that everyone finds its easier too.

MsPrincess, I’m surprised you don’t know the answer to ur own question seeing that your an expert in psychology. The human mind associates red with znus/inappropriate behavior, something chazal has known for many years.

While I’m not questioning ur intelligence (something you hav been very into letting everyone here know) im guessing u took an intro to pysch course and u think u can open your own private practice?

Many people major in psychology in undergrad simply b/c it tends to be shorter and easier than other majors. However, Psychology on a professional level is extremely technical, and is a real art.

    DY,

My guesstimate would be around 7-8k per student. Although I admit that I have no clue how much utilities/maintenance/insurance cost for a school building.

    CTLawyer,

Out of town yeshivas have significantly fewer students compared their in town counterparts, so things like the Rebbe’s salary is split among 10 kids as apposed to 23+.

Also find me a NYC yeshiva which has grass, so they save some $ here too 🙂

Back to the original topic, assuming that w/o special ed the cost per kid is slightly above the national average. A yeshiva would still cost less, fewer subjects= fewer salaries, and yeshiva secular studies teacher doesnt get health insurance and earn less b/c they usually don’t have the same (or any) education where as a PS teacher usually has a masters degree.

OP said his kids yeshiva wants $1000 a month per kid (10 month school yr so $10000) I can’t see how it costs the school 10k per kid.

Thus my conclusion that charging 10k a yr is an attempt to cover for those who can’t pay full.

NYC spent $1.2 billion, yes billion, on special needs kids to go to private schools when the public school system couldn’t provide for their needs (thank you Google) this doesn’t include services that they do provide in house. And there are 1.1 million kids in the PS system so the private tuition alone costs $1090 per kid.

According to the Washington Post in 2014, NYC spent $20000 per student in public school. The national average was $10600, many school districts spent less than $7k. In public schools there are teachers for subjects like art, music, and gym. Many also have sports teams. Yeshivas have none of these subjects, and they pay their teachers lessthan the pu lic schools.

So yes, I believe it costs the yeshivas less to educate one student, and anyone paying full tuition is covering for those who can’t.

Start taking classes @ Lander College for Men (day or evening program.) By going to Touro you receive preferential treatment when it comes to getting into their grad programs. Touro’s PT program (as well as all of their health science grad programs) doesn’t require uto complete your bachelors degree b4 applying you only need 90 credits. U only need to take 2 semesters of bio, chemistry, physics, and anatomy and physiology. You also need several other specific courses English/math… You can use yeshiva credits to get u up to 90 credits total. You can get the exact information on their website

“If this is a trend, I’m in favor. It is definitely not a step backward for anyone. It is not a step at all, and it’s perfectly reasonable.”

    1) How is going out of your way to put on a hat and jacket in honor of davening not a step up from not doing anything special in honor of davening.

    2) Why are you in favor of people not wearing hats and jackets, why do you care how they choose to present themselves? Can it be that they make you feel uncomfortable with your own level of appreciation towards davening.

    3) Also you never finish you last sentence- what is perfectly reasonable.

Syag, please explain how you have no problem with a game that the objective is to tackle someone who is running at you as fast as he can.

“because that is not the objective of the game.”

Please explain the objective of TACKLE football, if its not trying to stop your opponent from scoring by throwing him down to the ground. Have you ever watched a game of teenagers tackle football!?! Clearly not!!

The point of a scooter/skateboard isn’t to knock down it’s user, yes scrapes and bruises happen from time to time, but the more you ride it the better you become. As opposed to tackle football the more you play the better/harder the hits become.

i am all for guys having fun playing sports but tackle football is asking for trouble.

And just for the record i agree with you about young inexperienced drivers in the Catskills

Syag, please explain how you have no problem with a game that the objective is to tackle someone who is running at you as fast as he can. You would be surprised how rough “the game the boys play in their suit pants in the field” can become, no matter what you’re wearing the objective is still the same, bring your opponent down to the floor as quickly as you can. i used to play with my friends (up until 2 years ago) and i have seen friends get tackled by their necks, and others bang their heads on the ground. furthermore i hate to do this to a thread, but several rebbeim in my yeshiva (as well as some local rabbanim) who we asked said it is most likely ossur to play because of the likelihood that you will cause a chaburah to your opponent (something which your opponent cant be mochel on)

    AZOI.IS,

“Im neutral on this election at this point”

Do you expect anyone to believe that. And even if the new houses was a good idea do have any idea how long it will take for the city to get the space from the MTA,find a union contractor, and change all the necessary zoning laws. We wont be seeing a new houses for 10 years. Whats caller’s response to that???
