BEST IMAParticipant
BP Totty great advice!!!
smartcookie: The most important thing about buying a custom to me is to buy it from someone that stands behind their products. Unfortunately there arent very many places like that nowadays. If youre spending a mini fortune on something you want to be happy with it. I finally purchased one from Fortune Wigs on Coney and i am so happy. She wants you to walk out of there and be happy with what you buy. She was also such a mentch to deal with. Hatzlocha whatever you end up with!

BEST IMAParticipantI dont know prices on that size fridge but i did buy from town appliance and was very happy with them. They would be able to tell you which brands are ok and which are a problem for shabbos like QUEEN mentioned. Your not looking for a very large fridge so kitchenaid might be within your budget. Whatever you do buy its definately worthwhile to purchase a service contract with it if you can. Hatzlocha
November 11, 2010 5:50 am at 5:50 am in reply to: Fathers and brothers dancing with the Kallah #709153BEST IMAParticipantWIV its not only MO or BT weddings at all. I was a very yeshivish wedding and the father came to dance with his daughter for a few minutes. I thought it was beautiful but my husband was totally against the whole idea. It did get very out of control when the mother joined in and then someone went to call the sisters too. It became a real mess.
November 11, 2010 5:41 am at 5:41 am in reply to: VOTE HERE if guys in BMG should wear name tags #729114BEST IMAParticipantIm not a guy so i dont get a vote and even though i cant see anyone actually walking around with name tags i think its a great idea! I have brothers and cousins etc.. there nobody knows who anybody is! And it would be a great help to put a letter next to the name on the tag: F for freezer D for defrosted M for married. It would definately simplify things when it comes to shidduchim!
BEST IMAParticipantChad Pami that is so sad. We really do have to be careful before forwarding thoses messages. How CAN we verify these texes/emails? So many Tehillim texes that I received werent even the correct name.
BEST IMAParticipantI have a Kitchen Aid for years and I love it. GE is suppossed to be very good also.
BEST IMAParticipantDefinately Australian!

Parents should not let minors go to Mikveh by themselves thats would be a start
BEST IMAParticipantWellInformedYid your friends wife has great taste! Burgers Bar definately wins with me with a Shnitzi sandwich as runner up!
BEST IMAParticipantVnishmartem this is getting better by the minute!!! BY Totty is going to flip out when he reads that! He was hoping you werent in the CR reading what he wrote!
BEST IMAParticipantWe try our best to be makpid on it
BEST IMAParticipantoomis i cant stop laughing from that one!! All these stories are bringing back memories! An older uncle of mine couldnt drive anymore so he told my husband to come take his car. He couldnt get out of bed so he gave my hub the key. The car wouldnt start so my hub and daughter got out cables and tried jumping it. All of a sudden a guy comes running up to them waving a broom yelling that theyre stealing his car! It was a neighbor with the identical car they tried to take the wrong one! My kids got a good laugh out of that one my husband is a rav and to get caught trying to steal someones car well, we teased him alot about that one!
BEST IMAParticipantda
That poor secretary! I wouldve quit my job and never come back to that building again!
BEST IMAParticipantd a
I have a similiar one! We were at the zoo with the family one chol hamoed and my mother was standing a bit too close to the monkey cage. One of the monkeys grabbed her wig and ran to the back of the cage with it!!! We had to get one of the workers to go inside and get it for her while she stood with her hands on top of her head screaming (which made things worse the screaming just attracted more attention!)
BEST IMAParticipantBY Totty to me that was the most embarrasing story i ever heard i cant believe it happened twice! I felt so bad for my friend I never even thought of it from the mans point of view! I hope you didnt know her!
November 4, 2010 5:10 pm at 5:10 pm in reply to: Molesters: Why Do Some In Our Community Cover For Them? #711829BEST IMAParticipantSyag unfortunately you are so right
BEST IMAParticipantIm not brave enough to write my own embarressing moment yet (maybe after i keep reading yours ill get there!) but this happened to a friend of mine all u ladies out there will feel for her! Where we lived at the time the mik was located in a terrible neighborhood. You didnt look around as you left. This friend who was a big rebbetzin came outside ran to her husbands car got in and locked the door. She turned to her husband but it wasnt her husband. It was a friend of his who was a big Rav in the community!!! Definately the most embarressing moment of her life!
BEST IMAParticipantMy husband has sprint I have verizon. For local in town use sprint isnt bad but when he comes upstate he never has service he always has to use the verizon phone. Verion has service almost everywhere we go
November 2, 2010 8:26 pm at 8:26 pm in reply to: Molesters: Why Do Some In Our Community Cover For Them? #711806BEST IMAParticipantThey dont want to know that there is help because going for help means that you are admitting that you were a victim. But Boruch Hashem there is help. It takes years to get over something like this but with the right support it can be done. B”H 3 of those boys on the bus did go for therapy but it was years before they were able to get over what they went through.
November 2, 2010 7:57 pm at 7:57 pm in reply to: Molesters: Why Do Some In Our Community Cover For Them? #711803BEST IMAParticipantWow Syag thank you for sharing that. Im sorry that you had to go thru all of that. Unfortunately years ago that was the reaction. Dont beleive the child dont talk about it it didnt happen it couldnt be. There was a boy that was molesting children on a school bus on a 1 1/2 hour ride. We went to the rabbanim of the community and begged them to do something get this boy help. THEY DID NOTHING!!! They said dont say anything its going to ruin his familys’ name bla bla bla. They dont realize what a cycle it is. You dont get help he molests a child the child molests someone else it doesnt end without help!
November 2, 2010 7:49 pm at 7:49 pm in reply to: How To Talk To Children About Personal Safety #705991BEST IMAParticipantBP Totty I totally agree with you. My kids camp sends home a paper every year before the summer that we read to the kids. It basicly tells them the same thing that you tell the kids. Unfortunately it is a big issue that the kids are afraid to tell someone when it happens to them we havto keep telling them that they arent doing anything wrong and they shouldnt be afraid to tell a counsler or parent.
November 2, 2010 4:29 pm at 4:29 pm in reply to: Molesters: Why Do Some In Our Community Cover For Them? #711789BEST IMAParticipantMoq molesters are usually married but they dont wake up one morning and decide to molest a child. Most molesters were molested themselves when they were younger but unfortunately years ago the frum reaction to that was shhhh! dont talk about it. Nowadays the schools and camps are being much more open about the topic and while that wont change an adult molester hopefully it will make everyone more aware. I dont know if locking up a molester is the answer but he should never ever be allowed to work anywhere near children
November 2, 2010 12:54 pm at 12:54 pm in reply to: Molesters: Why Do Some In Our Community Cover For Them? #711774BEST IMAParticipantThese people need help locking them up in jail is not a soulution. Why cant there be a rehab center where they can get help? Lock them up but as long as they dont get help they are not going to stop doing what they are doing.
BEST IMAParticipantIt went for $150 Grand in a shul in brooklyn last year dont how much it went for this year though
BEST IMAParticipantWow that is beautiful. We should all learn from you.
BEST IMAParticipant$10,000 by us
BEST IMAParticipantIn most cases its not a good idea and i know many people that used a blech on glass and it did crack. I have a glass top but the grates on it are very high so i can use a blech on it.
BEST IMAParticipantDefinately we cant forget the mods! Thank you for putting up with us all year and listening to our kvetches and complaints all the time! Ketiva V’Chatimah Tova to all the Mods and to the whole CR Family and to all Klal Yisroel!
BEST IMAParticipantRefuah Shelaima Tova B”H the surgery should go good and you should have an easy and quick recovery. Well be davening.
August 31, 2010 2:49 pm at 2:49 pm in reply to: Custom or very good sheitles for under $1000 #739969BEST IMAParticipantBH Wigs has amazing prices and the wigs are beautiful. Everyone that i know that bought from her was so happy. Shes very sweet to work with and stands behind her wigs which i cant say for many other wig stores. Theres one in flatbush on Coney between J and K and one in Boro Park on 13th Avenue between 50th and 51st.
BEST IMAParticipantModernGuy i second your ban. Sunday was so crazy you couldnt even get a double parked spot. The entire block of Coney bet J and K on both sides of the street was double parked and someone trying to go around the double parked cars lost control and hit two of them. Between the cars and all the people crossing in between them it was a miracle noone was hurt. Besides being such a danger it is a major Chillul Hashem. Yes were busy and rushed for yom tov but be considerate of everyone else you share the street with.
BEST IMAParticipantThankx for all the tips. Everyone be careful DO NOT DOUBLE PARK even for a minute. Especially on Coney Between J and K. If you stop for a second they scan your registration before you even see they’re there. And DONT stop by a bus stop no matter how desperate you are.
BEST IMAParticipantlkwdboy99 do what?? Its not in our hands to do anything about it!! The mods have to change the system and nobody seems to know where the mods went
BEST IMAParticipant12
BEST IMAParticipantYes what? Yes to the new system or yes to the old system?
BEST IMAParticipantAnybody want to run this by the mods? We can vote as much as we want if theyre not with us voting isnt going to do a thing.
BEST IMAParticipantUmm “nasty poster” is probably getting a real kick at the way everyones going back and forth at each other about what went on between Friday and Motzei Shabbat. Yes his posts should have been deleted much sooner than they were and he should have been blocked from posting again but at least its all been taken off now. Dont give him the satisfaction of seeing us go at each other like this. Yes it was nivul peh and nivul ideas it was horrible. Now its up to the mods to decide how to handle these kind of problems in the future. Just dont let him be the cause of everyone going at each other. Hes not worth it.
BEST IMAParticipantWhile i agree with you ommis i hear what hodulashem is saying too. It is more convenient to carry on a conversation with the new system but think of how it looked to outsiders last night. Those kind of texes on a frum site?? It was so embarrassing! I didnt see the texes from friday but if there were those kind of texes on friday why wasnt he blocked from posting again last night? Something has to be changed a bit with the new system.
BEST IMAParticipantHes been posting for hours someone had to see it by now
BEST IMAParticipantMods how in the world did that post go through??
BEST IMAParticipantMods where are you?
BEST IMAParticipantword of the wise i would definately go with the year old. But everyones situation is different. We drive alot have alot of drivers in the family. We leased a car once it was a hugh mistake. We could never take that car anywhere cause it never had miles. They do have programs where you can turn a lease in early if the miles get too high. You have to see whats best for you. I did buy year old a few times and did great with that. If it doesnt have too much milage and you have a good manufacturers warranty you should be ok.
BEST IMAParticipantfeivel thats a beautiful piece of chizuk
BEST IMAParticipantBlei Ayin Hara were a big family and when everyone comes in the door from school with tons to say it gets a bit hectic. So we’re always telling the kids we want to hear everyones stories but one at a time cause we cant all talk at the same time. When my daughter was leaving to seminary overseas we all went to the airport with her. My 4 year old daughter was crying and of course i was crying and my 4 year old said to me very seriously Ima you cant cry now because i was crying first and we all cant cry at the same time!!
BEST IMAParticipantOomis im so sorry you had someone make a comment like that to you!!! and at a time like that??? What is wrong with people? When i hear a comment like that i try so hard to be dan l’kaf zecut but for a comment like that i cant come up with any rational reason for a person to talk like that. And estherh even if we can work on ourselves and overcome it it hurts to read these kind of comments about others. A boy was nifter over the summer upstate and the way people were talking was unbelievable!! I just kept saying i hope the parents dont hear that.
BEST IMAParticipantMazal77 the Deal Delights cookbook I and II was reprinted recently. Its the best SY cookbook that ive come across and i waited all these years for them to reprint it. The number to order it from if anybody wants it is 732-493-9300 ext. 201. Your bazargan recipe was amazing by the way. Keep the recipes coming!
BEST IMAParticipantestherh im so sorry you went through something like that amd im so sorry you had to hear a comment like that. Oomis i cant for the life of me understand what people are thinking when they make a comment like that. I lost a baby too. People who didnt think would say oh its such a zechut to have a child pass away with such a pure neshama my husband and I must be such special people if that happened to us. And people who had their head on straight would just tell us what they took apon themselves to do in her memory. Unfortunately not everyone thinks before they talk and give out advice but it really hurts when you read such a tragedy on a frum news site and see frum people writing such hurtful comments. Even if there is something constructive that you want to say think of how you would feel reading something like that if you were in their place G d forbid.
BEST IMAParticipantIm so glad that somebody brought up this subject. Sometimes I read the comments and I cant beleive that people can be so insensitive!!! If someone just looses a child how in the world can someone post comments on how they feel the parent did wrong?? If the parent was wrong they will live with that feeling for the rest of their lives. They dont need anyone telling them that they were wrong. And half of you that post comments dont even read the whole story before you start bashing everyone you think was wrong. And so what if one person doesnt spell as good as you do?? Not everyone posting here is american. Fellow Jews going through tradgedies need our sympathy. You have things you want to vent about do it somewhere else.
BEST IMAParticipantRocking Horse Ranch has Yeshiva Week with miyanim and kosher food. Theres skiing, snow tubing, horseback riding, a new water park with seperate swimming, etc… If your kids are major skiers its not really for them its just a small ski hill. But we go every year and even my teenage kids love it!
