First of all, do you actually know of a Shadchan that won’t redt a shidduch before receiving 10k?!? I highly doubt that! I’m in this field and I’ve yet to hear of such a price!

Second of all and this is my main point if what you say is true.

Question: Ever thought about why they might be doing such a thing?

The answer is pretty obvious and is also the real thing that you should be calling ‘Chutzpah’ and ‘Mind Boggling’! How many times does a shadchan work on a shidduch for hours and days and barely gets a thank you, forget about any compensation at all?!? How much does a Shadchan get when he/she actually is successful?!? Yes sometimes nicely, but at least 50% of the time, one gets very little compared to how much work and effort went into it. The shadchunas people give these days on a whole is TOTALLY unacceptable!

Can that maybe be a reason why a shadchan would take money like this before redting a shidduch? Of course!

Pretty dumb question in my opinion! Women look very pretty and super attractive in stunnning Sheitlech!!! Whether it’s tzniusidig is a different conversation, but that’s not what you asked.

Care to explain why a lady should be allowed to do that? Unless you feel that a man is also allowed! For the actual issue of listening to a lady singing I can hear a difference but for the rest of it I can’t hear a difference.

INTERESTING!!! You write “We’re definitely looking for a Litvish singer, not Chassidish” , yet the two singers you reffer to as a good choice besides for the their price which is out of your range (Shloime Daskal and Yisroel Werdyger), ARE TOTALLY CHASSIDISH!!!

apushatayid: “we have often invited couples where my wife is friendly with the mrs. and me with the mr. she shmoozes with her friend about lady things, i shmooze with my friend about men stuff and talk divrei torah and we all enjoy a nice shabbos seuda.”

The truth is that was really my original intention. It’s much easier and more fun when both the Mr’s and the Mrs’s know one another and it’s not just one of the spouses. So if one of her friends who is married comes over, it gives me a chance to get to know the husband and become friends and the same the other way.

On the other hand what “flatbusher” said about jealousy is a concern which you haven’t discussed. As well as what others said about tznius etc

aquestioningjew: Care to elaborate on what you mean by “an intimate meal”?!? What do you consider a regular meal on shabbos?

This idea about not inviting because of loshon hora is nuts! For that price never invite anyone!!!

Is it so terrible if there is another lady sitting at the table?!? Why? We’re not talking about becoming friends with each other. The men can talk with themselves and the ladies for themselves. Even if they end up schmoozing a bit, overall it’ll be each to themselves.

WOW. Ted Cruz pulled it off and won the Iowa cacus!!! Will it effect Trump in the long run? Will Trump’s bubble pop and his support fall away? Will Cruz be able to build up support on a serious level based on his win? In my personal opinion MNarco Rubio was the biggest winner of all buiding himself up tremendously in the last few days.

The biggest question of all is “will there be a brokered convention” where no candidate gets most of the delegates? Because if there is, then it becomes really unpredictable.

NevilleChaimBerlin: One would have to pretty stupid not to take into conderation who can beat the other side. What would you have out of a candidate, even if he’s the greatest candidate on this planet, if he can’t beat the other side?!?! A decision on a candidate has to include values, policy and ability of winning the election. If you don’t take winning into consideration then you basically wasted your vote!

Another important thing that’s extremely important i think, and this is mainly for the parents, is to make sure to know your child which unfortunately nowadays many don’t. Don’t fool yourself, if your child is not a frummy, then don’t send him to that kind of rebbe/teacher, even if that’s what you want your child to be. Such a thing doesn’t help the chosson/kallah at all. First of all they are not on the same page as the person teaching them, so they don’t get good clear hadracha according to their level and even worse it leaves them with no person to turn to after the wedding if there’s something to discuss, since their rebbe/teacher is from ‘a different world’ and they don’t feel comfortable with him. If a chosson/kallah feel that their teacher is not good/not on the same page etc, do yourself and your future spouse a favor and go tell your parents that t you want/have to change (you can ask some married friends who they went to). If you’re too uncomfortable to do that, then find a sibling/family friend you can speak to and let them speak to the parents. DON’T IGNORE IT!!!

“If the choson and kallah teacher would be a married couple. she teaches the girls and he teaches the boys, so first of all the choson and kallah would be on same page, and should any issues come up in the future it would be much more simple to solve cause the choson teacher will be able to discuss it with at the kallah teacher face to face in a timely manor and much more openly.

Im thinking of doing this myself and my wife for a while. She is perfect for this, a great teacher and communicator, I believe that any choson and kallah that will be coached by me and my wife will a great and long lasting loving relationship ,and avoid many issues that come up down the road”

I think this idea is really good!!! It would solve so much simply because husband and wife can talk and through each other, know both, the chosson and the kallah. Besides for the other point you mentiones that it would also help a lot if they have to go back after marriage simply becuase both would be comfortable

benignuman “All chosson and kallah teachers (especially kallah teachers) should tell their students that there are many different shittos and approaches in these matters and that they should not get upset because of they are hearing something from their spouse that sounds different than what they were taught”

    I COULDN’T AGREE MORE!!!

But another thing that would work amazingly well is if they are both taught the SAME thing based on their frumkeit and hashkafah. Not him one thing and her something else.

Since I know who you are my answer to you is to GO NOWHERE! FINAL! you are a yeshiva bochur and a yeshiva bochur should be in beth medresh learning since that is simchos yom tov and nothing else compares to the simcha of learning even a bit so why are you looking for places to go.

The only reason people go places on chol hamoad is because they have little children which going place makes them happy and gives them a simchas yom tov but a bochur who does understand what learning is HAS NO BUSINESS GOING ANYWHERE BUT TO BETH MEDRESH!
