BaalHaboozeParticipant
So someone wanted to answer for Parshas Bo an answer that I liked.
It’s brought down b’sheim R’S.Z. Aurbach, that he asks a stirah. In the morning we say first ?? ??????? ?????….i ?????? ??????and in the evening we say ???? ?????? ?? ????? ????? ?? ??? ????? so which came first? So it’s brought down in mesechta (?) that the Mitzriyim were actually struck at midnight but they remained like a goysis (half-dead) till after the yidden left the land. So we can answer the stira, that they takeh were struck with a makka, but they didn’t die immediately, only after the yidden were redeemed and left.
This answers our original question that the bechor animals could have died anytime between chatzos and when the yidden left Mitzrayim.
Agav I was thinking maybe that could be one reason why it’s called Makkas bechoros and not necessarily Harigas Bechoros. Because for many hours the Bechorim were struck with a Makka that suspended them into this state, of hanging between life and death.
BaalHaboozeParticipantYou’re welcome, AbeF! Here’s for Beshalach:
Good Shabbos!
L’chaim yidden, l’chaim!
BaalHaboozeParticipant(Hi Goq,lol!!!!)
I actually agree with the Goq and she was totally out of line and nasty beyond nasty. However your sharp retort you threw back was (understandably) a bit too harsh, and should have just apologized politely and remained silent. Believe me, I’m sure everyone there (especially because they were mostly jews) looked at this crazy woman and realized how she was totally over-reacting to the situation.
BaalHaboozeParticipantPARSHAS BESHALACH
When the Bnei Yisroel approached the Yam Suf, the medrash tells us that the sea originally didn’t want to split, because it was created on the 3rd Day and mankind on the 6th Day of creation. It was only because of Yosef, or because of (fill in the blank), and countless other medrashim and chaza”ls, that tell us what zechus the yidden had that it actually did split.
Q. Why now of all times do we find the Sea arguing to do something shelo kederech HaTevah, something we have not heard any other segment of creation tayna (claim) until now, despite the occurance of the 10 incredible makkos in Mitzrayim (ex: We never found the Nile argue not to turn to blood, etc.)?
January 24, 2013 8:27 pm at 8:27 pm in reply to: Must a boy who is in Shidduchim always be shaven? #924191BaalHaboozeParticipantIMHO a bochur who doesn’t grow a beard should shave either every day or every 2 days (depending how fast/slow the hairs come in. No matter where you are, you must look like a mentch and not with this new mishigas ‘stubble look’ which became quite fashionable and commom today. I think it’s messy, lazy looking, and has hints of the ‘homeless-man’ look. pathetic. A girl is expected to wear makeup and dress ‘put together’, especially when in the parsha, a bochur is expected to do his hishtadlus and shave. Same goes for excercising daily, watching your weight, and getting enough sleep, to name a few.
Not shaving at that stage of life (shidduchim) shows he doesn’t care enough to make a nice impression, is lazy, and is a definite negative in my books.
BaalHaboozeParticipant???? ???? ?? ????
BaalHaboozeParticipantzahavadad – I STILL think they (paintings) are overrated! I do agree however with gefilta fish…
dotnetter – agree with the segulos!! Although few actually work (I’ve tried them myself), the amount of propaganda, and publicity is waaay over the top
BaalHaboozeParticipantMy wife sets it Thursday evening after the kids are in bed. Later that night I make the cholent. I don’t know why but i felt the need to add in that peice of info.
BaalHaboozeParticipantMy favorite part of Tu B’Shvat is that, then, it’s only one month until Purim! 😀
l’chaim yidden, l’chaim!

😉
BaalHaboozeParticipantClics, kaplas, legos, magna tiles, rummykub, bop-it, othello, iron-on beads, and lots of coloring (markers crayons, etc)
BaalHaboozeParticipant*BUMP*
Are we allowed to daven for a beautiful esrog this Tu B’Shvat, being that it falls out on Shabbos this year?
BaalHaboozeParticipantMorahRach – i know what you mean! You and hubby should take turns napping on shabbos afternoon (that’s what I do, this way my wife and I benefit somewhat, even if it’s a short afternoon)
BaalHaboozeParticipantEnjoy your time-out (I give u 2-3 days max, lol!!)
In any case, we await your posts in the near future,
L’chaim Goq, l’chaim

BTW love your subtitle!!! LOL
L’chaim fitt, L’chaim!
BaalHaboozeParticipantMorahRach- A shabbos nap.
?
i beg to differ
that is definitely NOT underrated! Name me THREE people you know (over 15yrs old) that regards this oineg shabbos lightly….
BaalHaboozeParticipant?????? ???? ??? ??? ?????? ????? ????
BaalHaboozeParticipantMidrashim bring down a pshat that the Arbeh would blind the Mitzriyim by shooting off stingers into their eyes. Others say that they literally ate and fed off the faces of the Mitzriyim (cooooooool!!!!). This shtims well with the Yalkut Reuveini who says the Arbeh had teeth that were an amoh and a half long!
BaalHaboozeParticipantthat’s where you, the Mods, come in. It’s your job to seperate the genders and assure this place to be one of tznius. (And of course to make sure the coffee is kosher.)
BaalHaboozeParticipantfitt – LOL! It took me a couple seconds, I admit, but I finally got it.
BaalHaboozeParticipantPARSHAS BO
It says by Makkas Bechoros, that Hashem killed all the bechorim “from Man to Animal” (???? ?? ????) and Rash”i explains that Man (the Mitzri) is first (to die) since he initiates sin, (and then the animals died).
The question is, how is it shayich to say first the people died then the animals died, if we know that makkas bechoros occured in one, exact, split milli-second of midnight (Kachatzos Halayla)?

How about to steal things from him that he shouldn’t possess (as we see Rochel stealing the trophim from Lavan)?
BaalHaboozeParticipantthat and shmaltz herring, eh?
..ow…this rubber is hurting my neck! I knew I should have grown my own beard instead of opting for this fake one!!
BaalHaboozeParticipantI’m an ITJ. I can’t figure out if I’m S or N though.

BaalHaboozeParticipanta mamin – you’re very welcome!!
BetShemeshInExile- yeah, I guess. The alternative is quite morbid.
whatshaichis – absolutely!
btw my list obviously has no official end, and would love to read of many more underrated things
January 17, 2013 6:04 pm at 6:04 pm in reply to: CR Discussions: Halachic or Non-Halachic Discussions? #922021BaalHaboozeParticipantQuestion: is there a reason people don’t eat the ends of a challa a halachic issue, a minhag or a mishigass?? I have had been a guest at peoples’ shabbos tables and they would cut the challa, and then take the very end piece and take it off the table. Anyone heard of such a thing? I have seen it many times.
BaalHaboozeParticipantThank you WIY for this great thread!!
here’s another bit of Fascinating Torah Trivia:
How was Moshe and Basya related?
According to the Medrash Talpiyos, Basya and Tzippora (Moshe’s wife) were twin sisters! Pharoah adopted Basya, while Yisro adopted Tzippora.
This means Basya was Moshe’s sister-in-law!
BaalHaboozeParticipant“You get all worked up for yetzias mitzraim, and then it’s like still months before pesach.”
All the better! Start collecting your divrei torah for your Pesach Seder.
🙂
BaalHaboozeParticipant“Pakod Yifkod”
that’s a new app for Redemption.
BaalHaboozeParticipantWhen I was a teenager I would always ALWAYS peek behind the shower curtain to make sure nobody was there, before I used the bathroom.
BaalHaboozeParticipantI’d gladly be a customer at your restaurant, as I find too many restaurants have the same old same old, not.
Until then, maybe start a thread and share with us some exotic recipes and of course where to buy the ingredients. I’d LOVE to try some new kosher dish, as I am not afraid to sample any food out of my regular Hungarian-Heimisheh cuisine.
BaalHaboozeParticipantEarliest Shabbos today, shortest days of the year now…..u know what that means? It’s all downhill from here, boys! Summer is coming!!!
Good shabbos yidden, good shabbos! l’chaim!
BaalHaboozeParticipantrebdoniel – are you a chef? Your culinary expertise and wide-range knowlege of all ethnic dishes worldwide is apparent in the many threads you post, and has me flabbergasted. Wow. How do you know all that?
BaalHaboozeParticipantMy previous post was “a silly post”, and I had no intention to flatter! aHeiligeYid, you are a perfect bonafide troll and nothing close to that (fake) name you claim to be. Please leave!
(note: this is NOT a silly post)
BaalHaboozeParticipantI’m staying far and clear from any colorwar that has this clown (i.e. Mr. J. Troll) as a judge.
BaalHaboozeParticipantI am not surprised by all this, but at the same time I’m appalled. It’s reaaly REALLY terrible, and that is why there should be an adult (teacher or Rebbi) on the school buses. How do you THINK kids will act, when they can freely release that build up of tension after a day of school, with no authority to stop them? And the poor bus drivers bear the brunt of their pranks insults and misbehavior.
BaalHaboozeParticipantWherever he ends up, he will be respected.
*Tebow prayer pose*
BaalHaboozeParticipantHow could any heilige frum yid eat ?????? ???? after Chanukah is beyond me
😉
BaalHaboozeParticipantThe fact that he is still around unblocked, the Mods must have looked into this poster “aHeiligeYid”, and ruled he takeh must be a heilige yid.

BaalHaboozeParticipantIt’s time I stop putting off procastination, and get nothing done once and for all!
December 20, 2012 2:47 pm at 2:47 pm in reply to: A bit bothered by some advertisements in frum publications #1009208BaalHaboozeParticipantphdmom:
“@ BaalHabooze, really?? first of all, i wouldnt even recognize a fancy watch if i saw one, and dont have a concept of how much they could cost.
EVERYONE has their tayvos, no one is exempt. and when each of us look at our laundry list of things that we need to fix, why do you feel the need to look at your neighbor and worry about the simple tayva of a wealthy person. maybe that is his test, and i’m not even convinced that he failed if he chooses to buy it. seriously, why do we have to point fingers at other people?”
I, in no way take these ads, nor any $40,000 watches on frum people, negatively on a PERSONAL level. And I don’t intend to fix anyone’s tayvos/chisronos, but myself. I DO take issue of others flaunting & showing off insanely expensive gashmiyus accessories/vacations in frum people’s faces, or even advertising them in our magazines. Ask any Rav, talmud chocham, tzaddik, Rebbe, and Chacham. I reinstate, I don’t know if it is an issur per se, but it certainly does not fit in within the hashkofik realm of a Torah Jew.
BaalHaboozeParticipantjmh – Don’t mess with the Ministry of Genies and its Laws. You will be banned from wishing anything for the next 435 years, pending a hearing from the Upper Authorities, in violation of Code Bill #108 of Genilaws XZ34.
In addition, by requesting those prohibited wishes, you also inadvertently fried the Genie’s B.R.A.I.N., corrupting and destroying his core S.O.U.L. and he is now permanantly damaged. He will have to be disposed of and replaced.
(hey, I should write my own version of Harry Potter!)
BaalHaboozeParticipanttzaddiq: ROFL!!
