    Zach, noone is threatening the president. We just may cause him to dislike our Frum community more than is good for us.

    My main point though is the CHILLUL HASHEM involved.

    I’ve been to Eretz Yisroel a number of times. It’s a wonderful place. It’s actually much more than that.

    While it may be wrong to give tochacha (Joseph, I am not taking sides), once something is done publicly it is a Chilul Hashem and Devorah K has a right to be concerned. It isn’t 100% between them and Hashem anymore. People now look at “Jews” who don’t care about their kashrus laws.

    Does it really bother you that we’re giving people kavod, even though YOU feel they don’t deserve it. And if you’re referring to elderly Roshei HaYeshiva, then I really feel you’re hiking up a very dangerous path! If klal yisroel wants to call their role models by mechubadike titles, then you have no right to comment; especially, if you don’t feel these rabbanim have clear chisronos – I mean you wrote about “elderly Roshei HaYeshiva”! And, agav, in many Chassidishe circles, which you clearly don’t belong to, titles are only given for specific schar limud – and that’s after extensive farhers!

    Yoshi,

    I’m not talking about spying or us doing anything illegal. They want to know what the people think of them, and alot of chilul hashem has happened here.

    I think it’s in our best interest to have the President like us as much as we can have him like us.
