there are plenty of hotels there are minyanim and kosher food at the park.

they have a website for the lancaster jewish community with more info.

the park is kid friendly but yours are really young theyre still at the age where you can do things you will enjoy and so will they.

    Hello,

:incredulous: you dont force your way on everyone else! You think it’s proper to have a beard, but there’s still a heter to shave.

    How could it be?!?

SJS firstly I didnt say I feel its neccesitated I blamed the “system”.

Heyois many in the yeshivish velt feel its a knock on a girl vis a vis shidduchim not to go to Israel it is somewhat.

Personally I dont feel every girl should go but I also feel the way the system is set and the fact that in most schools it’s a given, it is often unfair not to allow your daughter to go.

Lastly the connotation of “galavanting” as if they do and gain nothing in Israel is flat out inaccurate and disgusting.

There are many things that people do -with mesora and blessings from their Rabbonim/poskim- that other poskim dont agree with.

I’m sure you dont lead your lives exactly according to everything all the current poskim pasken therefore dont expect everyone else to take on your chumros.

answer #3 is very valid. take out the exteremes like LA and it’s half price for schools here as opposed to israel where it’s cheaper to live and salaries are less.

Again R’ Kanievski I’m not questioning him, I’m just saying I have a minhag and mesorah that it isn’t assur to shave. I also have no connection to him that implores me to follow everything he paskens.

I know some of R’ Yackovs grandchildren and some of R’ Moshe’s grandchildren shaved. My father, grandfather and other choshuv members of my family, that live their lives c’halacha, shave(d) as well.

max how we translate and apply the torah especially in this case IS minhag.

Many people don’t hold like the mishna brura on many things and I’m not only talking about sfardim. i am going to go out on a limb (based on the way you type “minhug” not ‘minhag”) and say you yourself have minhaggim different then M”B.

Missme if your minhag is not to shave then dont. Others that dont have the same minhag will and we are both right.

At the risk of sounding like a heretic, there are many gedolim that have various shittas that not everyone holds like. If you have no connection to a gadol, you dont have to follow his shitaah IF you have a minhag otherwise.

For example the chazon ish and shaving or the right shiur for kiddush.

A yekishe bochur was told by R’ Breur (sic?), to tell his R”Y that the yekki minhagim predate the mishna brura by a few hundred years. therefore, even though the mishna brura says otherwise, the YB should do his minhag. (story was in the yated recently in the chinuch roundtable)

chaimmmm and others. Most Therapists work for agencies and (obviously) dont make the full amount the state pays. As such especially if you’re flexable with the times you can get it fairly reasonable.

Reasonable is relative but if you look at it as a whole instead of $X per hour (say $500) to help my child.

    why would you ignore stuttering?

get your child evaluated for speech therapy. If you can help them earlier it will prevent it becoming a bigger issue.

    An ounce of prevention…

Most secular teachers get less thann rebeim.

squeak most classes arent 30 kids and most kids have siblings in the school. Even using your numbers and Sjs’ 4 kids that’s $6800 in tuition money without taking into account any other expenses.

Ishman- I explained what I meant in the next few words.

I’m not comfortable giving the parameters for your decision -not because I’m not confident in my opinion- because its based on my experience and there are so many factors that come into play.

I’m going to assume he isnt in one of the real “yeshivish yeshivas” because then it wouldnt be a question. So if he is in a yeshiva where it can go either way -DONT look at the COUNTRY look for the RIGHT YESHIVA and send him to whichever country it is in.
