I admit my bowling form is far perfect, but in simulating MY bowling form I’m coming up with very little bending, except at the elbow. Could it be thats why I hardly ever break 75? 🙂

I’m not an avid bowler, but from what I remember, it is quite difficult to bowl bent over at the waist.

Apushatayid: How about volunteering to help a neighbor, say, with twins? Or baking or making something cool to put a smile on an elderly neighbors face?

That’s a nice idea. Put yourself in the shoes of a 7th grade girl. Is that how you want to spend ALL your free time? Get real.

I did not read all the responses, although the OP touched on a number of potential answers. I’m sure the usual suspect answers were already given and if not, will surely be debated to death over the next few days or until someone crosses a line and the moderators are forced to shut the thread.

To answer the OP. I personally daven in a shul that does not make a mi shebeirach for the Tzahal, this does not make me, or those who daven in the shul anti the medina, or kofui tov to the Tzahal. I can not speak for anyone but myself here. when I daven for the well being of klal yisroel in galus, in the bracha of goel yisroel or when we say sim shalom…”val kal yisroel” it includes all members of klal yisroel, not specific members.

You say a special teffila for the Tzahal, thats your perogative. Do you say a special tefillah for the cholim in your local hospital? If not, does that mean you could care less if they just drop dead?

Put yourself in the shoes of a 7th grade BY of BP girl. What should she do in her free time?

Ride a bike? (see the CR thread about that).

Walk the ave with her friends? Suddenly she’s hanging out in the street with her friends (see recent CR thread).

Go to the mall? Same problem.

Roller blading in the park? (see bike riding thread)

Just about anything she might do outside the house, someone is ready to scream its not tznius.

So, we’ve limited the girls to indoor activities. How much homework can girls do? How many books can they be expected to read? How many get togethers with her friends can she have (without someone screaming that its not tznius with her brothers around the house).

So, now we’ve limited the girls to the house, alone. She is tired of reading, sick of her homework, she isnt ready to spend her days baking cookies, challah or knitting a tallis bag for her future chassan. Her mother doesnt need her help to prepare for/from supper right now. What should she do? It is more depressing trying to picture myself into the shoes of a 7th grade BYoBP girl than reading about the conversation you had with her.

The mesivta and yeshiva ketana my boys attend and the girls school my daughter attends do not make anyone sign anything.

the schools send home a letter stating the school policy and the possible reprecussions if owning a tv or watching videos becomes detrimental to the chinuch of any child.

the key is not to slap someone around and make sure they get back in line (which heaven help the teenager who asks the wrong question of a rebbe or morah in a yeshiva today – which only exacerbates the problem) but to make sure the path we want them to follow is one that is enjoyable and fulfilling. “ol mitzvos” and “satisfying and fulfilling” are not mutually exclusive. in fact the opposite is true. Pikudei hashem yesharim, mesamchei lev. If they are not mesamchei lev, perhaps it because we are not properly giving over pikudei hashem or not giving over pikudei hashem altogether.

We don’t get invited out much, so when we do, we make sure the entire host family is taken care of (so that the next time they are thinking of having guests, they think of us!).

I take care of a nice bottle of wine for the husband. My wife usually gets a gift certificate for a manicure for the balabusta and we usually bring some sort of candy platter for the kids.

Everyone wants and needs something enjoyable. If we can’t explain or show how torah and yiddishkeit can fill these wants and needs, the outside world is ready to jump in and do just that. They are often way better prepared to make their case.

The question is “is onlinegelt.com a scam or is it legit”?

The business called onlinegelt is unquestionably in my opinion a legitimate business. Its owner is offering you some basic information about how she believes you can be successful in the world of “affiliate marketing”, once your appetite is whetted, it is offering you a product (information in this case) how to go about setting yourself up to take advantage of this (estimates are) almost 6.5 billion dollar a year business.

To answer my own previous question about data available in the library. If you would pay for a sefer that is a likut on say hilchos shabbos then I don’t see why lihavdil you wouldn’t pay for this. You can just as “easily” learn through hilchos shabbos yourself and don’t need the likkut sefer and you can just as “easily” (in quotations because I have not tried and don’t know how easy, or not, it is to gather this data yourself) do the research research on affiliate marketing. Like every product you consider buying, is the time saved worth the purchase price? The actual content? That is up to you to decide once you buy it. The seller claims it is valuable information that has worked well for her.

What affiliate marketing program(s) you join is more important than is Mrs. Braun legitimate (as with all yidden, she has a chezkas kashrus with me – she has done nothing to destroy that chazaka as far as I am concerned).

If you already have an online business, you’ve probably heard of affiliate marketing. If you don’t, you will need one.

As an aside, those who make a living in the anti spyware/adware space, are thankful for affiliate marketing and the business it drives their way. As with all businesses, there are plenty of shady charachters and adware/spyware is a legitimate concern, to shoppers (I’m sure gelt 201 comes with enough reminders that if your website damages peoples computers, they are not coming back to your site).

Personally, I am a bit weary of a business model popularized and revolutionized by the adult entertainment industry when the web was still in its infancy (its one of the reasons most spyware lands you on a porno site).

Why pay for a course how to bring eyeballs to your website when the library is filled with such information, free.

As in al MLMs, those at the top of the pyramid will make money, no arguments there. How close to the top do you get in determines how much money you make.

People need a reason to hit your website. If lots of eyeballs are on your site, you can sell advertising space. Promise people money, they will look, and amazon will pay to be on your site. Problem is, you need a draw to your site. Eventually everyone will be promising this business and the eyeballs will be sprea5 too thin. Then, the trick is to come up with the next idea to pull those eyeballs.

He. his mind is only on the highest levels of kavana during tefilla, it goes without saying that he doesnt talk within 40 yards of the shul. Seder? not a single wasted moment. learns all day, and then some, eats just enough to have strength to go back to the beis medrash for night seder. Never speaks lashon hara. Middos are sterling, in fact, he interacts with nobody except his chavrusah, maggid shiur, shoel umashiv and rosh yeshiva.

She. davens 3 times a day. speaks no lashon hara. is found at the nursing home during mealtime helping the residents and when not delivering tomche shabbos packages is sitting home dutifully sewing a tallis bag for her bashert.
