If you had US citizenship, and lived in Israel for 55 years, you would still need a US passport that was valid to come back here, and if you registered with the consulate or embassy when you got to Israel, they would very likely remind you of the same sort of thing. If you are a citizen, and you are out of the country, you are supposed to have a valid passport, because that is essentially the only thing you can use to go back. (For people who are only legally citizens of one country, it’s also the only thing they can use to get a visa to stay wherever they are). Frankly, If I were not tin the US, and my passport was going to expire, I would be thankful for the reminder, and move on.

This looks like it could get more interesting over time. I am an avid fan of music, but much of the 80’s and 90’s “Jewish” music I listened to in the past sounded way too overproduced for my ear. I have not listened to the mainstream of Jewish music since that time, but may give it a shot when I am in a part of the world where it exists (the local music here is a bit more… Arabian/Euro…). I hope that it has changed.

I remember reading somewhere that in the Yeshiva world, Webcams were considered very much a bad thing. Seeing as it’s the only way I can see most of my family (I live and work on several continents right now, and my family is not on any of them), I was going to use one anyway, but I am glad to see that someone else out there is of the frum world, and knows there are great reasons to have one.. Oh, and I have used Macs off and on since 1987 (with some PCs in there when I was broke and a glutten for punishment), and currently 3/5 of my computers are Macs. Most of the “I can build a better box for less” arguments are useless where the Mac is having it’s biggest impact, laptops..
