Yes, moish, definitely better put them on at 4:00 than not put them on at all. (and btw, I once asked a rav this question)

anonymisssParticipantmoish, I’m really not sure. Doing those things don’t necessarily make one frum, although they may appear to be frum.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantames, I’m sorry that your feelings are hurt. I am authorized to approve new board members only with the consent of all board members which will require a board meeting. You will be notified of membership status within 3-5 business days after the board meeting takes place.
Thank you for understanding,
~a~
anonymisssParticipantSpeaking of being not frum, just wondering who it is here that’s not frum.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantOooooo, that’s tough!!! You mean those kind of people. Yeah, they were one of my biggest challenges and “turn off”. People don’t appreciate what you do, it’s only what you don’t do that gets noticed. Like please tell me that my skirt’s too tight, why can’t you just be happy that my knees are covered?????????? I know that and it doesn’t make you want to continue doing whatever good thing you were doing. The only way I was able to deal with it was to ignore and tell myself that I’m right and they’re wrong!!!
~a~
anonymisssParticipantadsf, cuz you’re the same person lol!!!!!!!!!!!
~a~
anonymisssParticipantSeven. Not a minute later. Please send an email around to all board members notifying them of the schedule change.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantgood to hear that you’re not that kind of guy. And don’t know about people who can’t relate to that.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantames, it was dr. pepper
~a~
anonymisssParticipantqwerty and asdf, why don’t you just look in the mirror?
~a~
anonymisssParticipantames, don’t give any good ideas, please!
~a~
anonymisssParticipantmoish, I sure hope they’re not disposable!!! All I meant to say was – been there done that. Got it?
shkoyach: Agree, 100%
~a~
anonymisssParticipantBoard members know who they are.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantShkoyach-that song, my favorite! I think about it sometimes when I’m down and say to myself, ok, it will be over soon. But I find that it’s hard for me to remember to think that way when I’m in a difficult situation, like this shabbos, omg, was too much for me and the only thing I could think of was that I’m not managing and can’t deal with it. What should I do then?
~a~
anonymisssParticipantCurious, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
~a~
anonymisssParticipantOh, and moish, btw, that wasn’t directed at you. I’m just not sure where exactly she’s coming from, so, out of exasperation, I may have come across a bit more harshly than I intended. I’m really sorry about that.
With sincere contriteness (if that’s a word),
~a~
anonymisssParticipantasdf: The meeting shall be held Sunday at 6:00 in the evening. Board members only may attend.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantno fair, ICOT, four of my five guesses were correct.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantSorry, moish, but none of that defines you, as a person. I know for a fact, (especially from the davening thread,) that you are a good person. Yes, we all struggle with things. Believe me, if you would’ve known me five years ago, that all applied to me, (and more.) Now, it doesn’t. Fast forward five years for you, and I hope we will say the same. None of that defines who you are, it’s only a current description. (I probably could’ve been your girlfriend.)
~a~
anonymisssParticipantWell, ames, if you’re going to use that arguement, then I’ll follow you on those lines. You post under the screen name ames, and I call you ames. I use the screen name anonymisss, and you call me anonymisss. Moish posts under the screen name moish, so can we please call him moish?
The truth is, though, that if he identifies himself with a jewish name, why ever would you want to deprive him of that? I really can’t understand it.
A related thought from the parsha-
Three things saved bnei yisroel in mitzrayim:
- they didn’t change their language
they didn’t change their dress
they didn’t change their names
- language-Well, yes, we all speak English, but seems from the moderators that the language is not always up to YWN standards.
dress-From the way moish describes himself, I guess he doesn’t dress like he just stepped out of yeshiva.
names-Won’t you have the heart to please let him keep at least that?

anonymisssParticipantf, s, h, r, l.
How many are right?
~a~
anonymisssParticipanthey, moish, cool!! I like.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantone minute here, as chairperson of the CR board, I say we need to have a board meeting about who will be taking brook’s seat. All current board members are required to attend.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantmoish, lol, that was funny.

~a~
anonymisssParticipantsqueak, you know what you remind me of? A little girl started calling her grandmother every Friday to wish her good shabbos. Well, after a while she stopped doing it and her grandmother asked her why she stopped calling. She very innocently answered, “Bubby, the contest in school is over.”

January 23, 2009 6:42 pm at 6:42 pm in reply to: Daven With A Hat BeYichidus or Without it with a Minyan #1081865anonymisssParticipantSJS, I agree with you. I think (and I may be wrong) that the main idea of tefilla is to develop a relationship with God. So, if that would mean telling Him how you feel; angry, happy, hurt, confused, etc., then I believe that you are fulfilling the purpose of tefilla. Yes, one still must daven with a minyan, 3 times a day, at a certain time (with a hat?) and all that.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantcharlie, don’t you know anything about addictions? By definition, an addiction interferes with one’s life. Does that answer your question to ames?
~a~
anonymisssParticipantRY: [email protected] (in place of xx put number) btw, what’s the trouble?
~a~
January 23, 2009 6:35 pm at 6:35 pm in reply to: Daven With A Hat BeYichidus or Without it with a Minyan #1081863anonymisssParticipantmoish, you play football, right?
~a~
anonymisssParticipantames, you’ve shown that you do sincerely care about him. Does it not bother you to disregard his jewish name? I’m really having trouble understanding why you would want to call him MO.
~a~
anonymisssParticipanthere mod72, your coffee, no milk and 2% sugar. or is it no sugar and 2% milk? whichever.
btw, mod72, about the you know what, he did it so I guess it was ok. Thanks.
~a~
anonymisssParticipanthey, curious, please don’t start the art lessons without me. THanks!
~a~
anonymisssParticipantasdf, what’s a party without you?
moish, hope you feel better asap!
~a~
anonymisssParticipantCharlie Brown? Your age???? In the cr????? Mods, you let that through?????
~a~
January 23, 2009 5:11 pm at 5:11 pm in reply to: Daven With A Hat BeYichidus or Without it with a Minyan #1081855anonymisssParticipantmoish, you said, “areivim, isn’t that how all you frummies look at guys like me? wimps? so i said it for you. “
And the answer is no, not at all. I’m really not sure where you get that from. Yes, perhaps there are some unfortunate people who might feel uncomfortable around you because they just are unsure how to relate to you. But look at you like a wimp? NO!!!!!!!!!!!! (that was for asdf)
~a~
anonymisssParticipantThe party’s officially on!!!!!!!!!!!
~a~
anonymisssParticipantames, could you please please call him by his name, moish? It’s really bothering me, this MO business. Let him at least keep his Jewish name.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantI wasn’t the one who said but ya…

January 23, 2009 6:30 am at 6:30 am in reply to: Daven With A Hat BeYichidus or Without it with a Minyan #1081847anonymisssParticipantWow! I was absent today and I just read through this thread. My brain’s a little overloaded, there’s so much to learn here.
Ames-Thank you, I really appreciated what you wrote here.
Moish- (yes, we’re keeping it moish, don’t know why anyone would choose to change that, and definitely A+ for trying lol, and I didn’t say I was proud of you this time.)
About doing things that you do/don’t want to do- doing something bec a gun is being held to your head means you have no choice. Hashem wants us to choose to do what’s right, without force. Yes, we have free will to do what we please and Hashem protects the free will by not holding a gun to our heads, aka the “lightning strikes” school of thought. And then, because it was our choice to do the right thing, He can reward us for it.

anonymisssParticipantHey, moish, I think I remember that when you first joined here, someone mentioned something to you about using the time to discover a new talent or something along those lines. Well, looks like you found it!
~a~
anonymisssParticipantCurious, so are you impressed with his dvar torah? I sure was. Now about the cool website….it’s my turn to be curious.
~a~
anonymisssParticipantNice job, moish! I knew you could do it:} Something we, in the cr, can all learn. Go easy on others. Thanks!
~a~
anonymisssParticipantnice soccer ball
~a~
anonymisssParticipantdon’t bother, it won’t get approved.
~a~
anonymisssParticipant🙁 Oh, I’m so sorry for touching on a sore topic. I’m so sad to hear that it didn’t turn out well.
~a~
January 22, 2009 5:58 am at 5:58 am in reply to: Daven With A Hat BeYichidus or Without it with a Minyan #1081774anonymisssParticipantWell, I’m not God, so I can’t swear on this one, but, I’m fairly certain that He’d be more than happy to hear from you with/without the hat/jacket, or in jeans/tshirt.
Moish, good for you that you’re trying, (yes, you definitely still get A+ for effort.) You are, I’m sure, aware that I don’t need you to pray, God doesn’t need you to pray, only you need you to pray. I’m happy to hear that you’re trying. Keep it up!
~a~
anonymisssParticipantHey, moish, how was it to get out tonight?
