thanx feivel, ma rabu ma’asecha hashem. i hope the thread continues.
amichaiParticipantmaybe it’s my age, probably is but why would someone be soooooo curious as to who is writting. i guess it’s the way of the world.
amichaiParticipantwelcome back charlie brown, lucy and linus missed you. definitely need some clear rules in the cr.
amichaiParticipantjust curious- will there be a sports thread or not. how long does it take the decision commitee to decide? not critisizing, just asking.

amichaiParticipantthanx phyllis. but i just wonder if there are more bloggers that want it the other way.
amichaiParticipantwell written – nobody.
January 14, 2009 9:15 am at 9:15 am in reply to: How Many Hours A Day Do You Spend In The YWN CR? #636454amichaiParticipantdecaff, splenda, and a sweetroll.
amichaiParticipantleave it to joseph, he’ll find out exactly.
amichaiParticipantareivimzehlazeh-don’t get off the subject. answer yisroel805.i find in most posts people totally get off the main subject. it just seems silly to me that on most posts, a person coming from the outside , like myself who does not write in alot, will look up a topic and not know what is flying because you all chat with each other. yes, this is totally off the subject at hand but i am quite frustrated with the way people write in. am i the only one that feels that way? good luck yisroel805 on your move to flatbush.
amichaiParticipantno such definition of yeshivishe anymore. if the father is a rosh yeshiva- his kids will be called yesivishe even if they dress different by other standards. if the parents are frum balei batim and simple, oiy vey if the kids dress the same way as the rosh yeshivas kids. they will be called at risk.

amichaiParticipantyou don’t have to be young in age to enjoy comics. only young in spirit! i love reading the peanuts comics, and dennis the mennice. charlie brown and linus and lucy never age! lets stay young at heart. our grandchildren will thank us!
amichaiParticipantcongrats! any cake left?
amichaiParticipantyour city first.
amichaiParticipantshavua tov! could be a hoax, but the police should definitely be told.
amichaiParticipantwhere in the world do you people come up with such thoughts, addiction?? and if you spend your morning on the phone with your friends, are you addicted? if you love speaking about the latest styles, are you addicted? do you really think anyone will find out information from ywn. that they don’t know already. you don’t read papers or hear the news? don’t turn this into a monster. if you don’t want it, don’t read it. we are not children. if you don’t trust ywn. to watch what is being said about any topic, find another hobby. anyone that has an addiction problem will have it even without the sports thread.
amichaiParticipantdid you ever hear of the kosher phone? can’t abuse it too much cause there isn’t too much to do with it. just calls. no texts, sms, tv or internet. only calls. if a girl doesn’t want her mom to know where she is, she won’t answer.
amichaiParticipantok, there you have your answer. its up to the moderators (who else)to decide how far in we can go with the sports. do we discuss names and sports players or just scores and home runs. shouldn’t be so hard deciding over some yummy hot cocoa and cake.
amichaiParticipantfor where i come from, i’d say we’ve got quite a few of those yiddishe kop’s.
amichaiParticipanti’ll take some also, thanx.
amichaiParticipantbuy them . unless you are a terrific baker. i really don’t mean to insult anyone of their baking skills.
amichaiParticipanthappy chanukah and bsuros tovos.
amichaiParticipanti really think its impossible not to see any lights from the goyishe holiday. it’s all over. but we know we are different and we grew up not having enjoyment from those lights. if you go into aish.com, into lori platnick’s blog, she speaks beautifully on this topic.
amichaiParticipantyou guys really blasted zalmy. for a recently new member like myself,i have no idea what went on. maybe we should not point fingers at people but just say what we need to improve here.
amichaiParticipantthe three tenors, shcarf, shwebel, and levine.
amichaiParticipanta big thank you to the ywn staff! i’m sure it’s very not easy!
amichaiParticipanti really don’t understand, noitallmr. no to sports but yes about latkes and hamentashen and screen names.?? really, am i missing something here?
amichaiParticipanteverything in moderation. nobody is idolizing the shkotzim. you don’t enjoy going to a baseball game??
amichaiParticipanti think it’s fine. even the biggest talmidim enjoy speaking sports once in a while.
amichaiParticipantsounds pretty horrifying!
December 18, 2008 3:01 pm at 3:01 pm in reply to: Danger of Talking on Cellphone When Driving!! #642445amichaiParticipantwhy doesn’t hatzolah in ny. come out and speak to families about the danger of driving and speaking. along with fastening seat belts!
December 18, 2008 12:25 pm at 12:25 pm in reply to: Neis in Jerusalem: Tefillin, Rocks, and an Arab I was Really Happy to See #628055amichaiParticipantthank g-d you came out ok. but you know you should not drive in those areas without the heavy bulletproof windows.
amichaiParticipantWhat do you want to know.
amichaiParticipantPlease can you write what RCCS stands for. we should hear bsuros tovos.
amichaiParticipantWhat is wrong with boys staying home with their families on purim? Maybe this is where we have to come out strongly to the oilam. Let them go to their Rabbeim a little bit,but they should really be around us for the yomtov. Everyone will say I’m not being realistic, but we have to change our way of thinking. Purim with the family is beautiful! You don’t have to look outside for fun. And it’s definitely safer!
amichaiParticipantmy two sons ages 18 and 16, do not have cellphones and I can still speak to them daily. They are really proud they don’t have. My sons principal said the boys who walk around with phones all day look like little buisnesmen. So sad. For the older ones, let there be really specific times during the day it’s not allowed. Don’t leave the Beis Medrash to speak on the phone. If they need to air out, take a 5 minute walk around the block. Phones can and should be left in the dorms.
December 4, 2008 8:26 pm at 8:26 pm in reply to: The Yetzer Hara of Bitul Zman – Online – Internet Addiction? #1076943amichaiParticipantA person needs structure upto a certain point. I’m not speaking of mother’s with young children, where things can just pop up without warning. If a person knows he davens in the morning, and says his tehillim for the day, or learns 2 halochos shmiras haloshon, he can allow himself a bit of time at the computer. All bad habits need to be curbed, even excercise and chessed can keep a woman away from her family when they really need her. I’m of course talking about Very extreme cases. the name of the game is everything in moderation. Give yourself a time limit and try to stick to it. hatzlocha rabba!
amichaiParticipantaish.com had great articles on thanksgiving, weather you celebrate it or not.
amichaiParticipantYiddish is not a first language in Israel. It will work in meah shearim if you want to buy an apt. there.Beautiful yes, but only useful in certain areas.
amichaiParticipantIt would be great if we could arrange, 6 wks. before purim for a lung specialist to come into the schools and show the older kids x/rays of the lungs before you start smoking and after. It might have an effect.
amichaiParticipantIt’s really a lesson for all us parents. To try not to leave small objects in the reach of children, and tefilla, because we really can’t watch our kids 24/7. we can only try our best.
amichaiParticipantramat beit shemesh has chareidi anglos, beit shemesh proper is more dati leumi. modiin is quite large. you really have to check out each place and speak to people that live in those areas. hatzlocha with your decision.
amichaiParticipantI think my name says it all, ami-chai. just joined a few days ago.
