chocolate mint chip. yummy! i have a neighbor that prepares homemade parve ice cream. the favorite in the neighborhood is peanut butter and jelly. not joking!
amichaiParticipantchess wins all. kids love rummy and uno.
amichaiParticipantpour a cup of vinegar down. start with one a day and then weekly.
amichaiParticipantwe live in eretz yisroel. usually people will stay for family simchas. if you recieve an invite in the mail telling you when the wedding is, you are invited to sit and eat. as of late, people have written in the card ,the times of the chuppa, and simchas, chosson and kalla. that means you go to either or. you don’t need to go to both. if you can’t make it because of the travelling, don’t go. people are trying to cut down on expenses. you don’t need the chicken. it’s not an insult. some people from certain communities are invited to two simchos a nite. we aren’t speaking about pple. that only go to weddings once in a while. we cannot possibly go and sit each day. these pple go to say mazel tov and leave and it’s hard enough with that. if you are an out of town friend, more than an hr. drive away, usually pple will invite you for the meal. b’smachot.

February 24, 2010 7:44 pm at 7:44 pm in reply to: Who are the Quiet Girls Supposed To Marry? #897307amichaiParticipantwhat is the meaning of quiet? are the girls so quiet they do not speak on the date? does it mean slightly shy? or just not as loud and giggly as some young ladies on the busses? quietness is not a defect. if it scares off the guys, do not use the word quiet.
February 24, 2010 4:52 am at 4:52 am in reply to: How to Block the Internet from My Children? #1216699amichaiParticipantas someone mentioned earlier, keep the computer in a public room, where the parents are able to monitor what the child is watching. keep communication lines open. warn your children about chat rooms, and never to meet with these people privately.
amichaiParticipantwe really have to hear from the daughter in jerusalem if she is burnt out or not. maybe she is totally happy in her situation and to be leading such a life. a mother always feels for her children and that they work too hard. the ideas to send cleaning help and or meals was excellent . may the bubby have much nachas from her children.
February 21, 2010 4:11 am at 4:11 am in reply to: Destroying Homes in E''Y, the "Israeli" Government… Holy or not? #675007amichaiParticipantisn’t this the story that just happened in this past war with ro’i klein?
amichaiParticipantthe ani ma’amin from jep, but that was before alot of peoples time. i find that slow nigunim really help you to feel what is inside of you.
amichaiParticipantdidn’t mean to imply he is a natural. we all have to put in hishtadlus, and only hashem will decide the outcome of our learnings.
amichaiParticipantit runs in his family. his mothers brothers were also in the contest many years ago, and his grandfather studies tanach, whom avner is very close to. its in the genes.
amichaiParticipanthatzlocha smileyface!
amichaiParticipantjoseph, you know we are all going to tell you now, that’s not the same thing. truth is i really never heard of that rule not to use first names but i’m curious to ask the younger generation in our family what they did.
amichaiParticipantthe garden of emuna is a great sefer to start with.
amichaiParticipantyou can put on the traps, bamba or peanut butter. they like both.

amichaiParticipantwishing you all in the cr. a good yomtov and good shabbos!
amichaiParticipantchulent is not really chulent during the week. it’s called stew. and the taste is not the same taste because of shabbos. but go ahead and enjoy it anyway.
amichaiParticipantwell if you guys really eat kugel all the time, how many do you prepare altogether for shabbos? just curious.
amichaiParticipantthank you for the correction, mods.
amichaiParticipantbeliever – just by the way, teach your son now, what no means!!! you are the boss! not the 7 yr. old.
amichaiParticipantmake things very clear. first thing is a long nap in the afternoon b4 yomtov. if he doesn’t 4 any reason there is nothing to speak about. tell him you will go by – hour by hour. most young children do go to shul at 11.00 pm. tell him each hour his abba will see how he – the boy is doing. sometimes a young group of children will recite tehillim also. that’s fine. as soon as the abba notices that his son cannot sit any longer- it’s time to go home. let him know beforehand it’s not a punishment to go home early. it could be a beautiful learning experience for both father and son. also the father should be willing to go over the boy’s parsha and yomtov sheets he brings home from school. which means he might not learn with his own chavrusa. hatzlocha.
In the future, please refrain from using such shorthand. Using 4 as a replacement for the word “for” (and other such maneuvers) often leads to posts getting deleted on the spot
amichaiParticipantwe are in golus. the whole world acts backwards.
amichaiParticipanthappy birthday jr. 72! you should have a year of good health and lots of fun! and bring much nachas to your parents, the mods.72.
amichaiParticipantwishing you all a good shabbos from eretz yisroel! kol tuv.
amichaiParticipantbabies should not be in a house of shiva. you are coming for the person or people in the house. even though we all love babies, it’s not the place. about the rabbi with the baby, could be he really doesn’t know it disturbs the kahal. maybe you can get the head of the kehilla to speak to both husband and wife.
amichaiParticipantwelcome back jaymatt. good vort. also thanx to goldieloxx.

amichaiParticipanthatzolah in israel has come out with posters on the dangers of firecrackers and prizes for children that do not use them for the month of adar. the ad must be signed by the parents. if i’m not mistaken these posters were printed in the religous papers so people all over will see them.it was presented in a very beautiful but serious manner. we heard on the israeli news last night a boy had his fingers burned badly from the use of firecrackers. we should all have a happy and safe purim.
