yoish – I assume you are speaking about a shabbos meal that is longer than an hr. just put yourself in his place. the boy goes to school 6 days a week, might not come home till 10.30 at night. these boys have full days. its understandable if he cant sit so long. home should be different than school.

definitely depends on the family situation, kids, parents, how long the seuda and singing have been going on. there are some kids that CANNOT sit so long anywhere for a long spam of time, so why should they at the table. each family has to know their children and not look what other pple are doing.

i agree with the above advice. it’s really the parents’ problem, unless they approached you for help.
symptoms vary of course. big lack of social skills. again, all certain tact how close to stand next to one another, loudness of voice. most people pick up these cues automaticlly. an aspies child needs to be taught these cues. they are, extremely, extremely intelligent. as are most autistic children that you read about. my son draws amazing. loves science. has come up with some really brilliant ideas. yes, it’s a very big challenge. there is very good literature that has come out on aspergers. I do not hide the fact from family and friends and neighbors that our son has aspergers. there is much more awareness now on the subject also.
my son was diagnosed with aspergers. he’s very high functioning. he’s also much more spiritual than most children his age. he looks just like everyone else. but things that regular children are born with, (certain tacts) aspies kids need to learn the rules. we are very thankful for our special son.
really don’t know if the story is true or not, but why are we always so surprised? when all the latest gadgets, ipods, phones, etc. are at our fingertips and you can hook onto all the junk out there. why are we so surprised?
