2 people IN REAL LIFE, meaning a particular rav, politician, etc., and why.
I was actually thinking I’d like to meet Moshiach (just hoping I’ll be all ready by then)because then I’d know that kibutz galuyos is just around the corner… By no means a popularity contest.
I’d also like to meet Dovid Hamelech. He’s had such an incredibly difficult upbringing & background, yet had such hakoras hatov & was able to write such amazing words in Tehillim. He was also able to admit wrongdoing w/o blaming his past.

am yisrael chaiParticipant“The milk that Rav Moshe was matir, according to his shitta, has the same status (in a sense) as CY.”
You make a very good point.
(There are some who refer to the milk that Rav Moshe was matir as chalav akum, & that is very wrong.)
am yisrael chaiParticipant“The entire “lady’s first” idea is anathema to Yiddishkeit”
So is onaas devorim.
Since the likelihood of any of us being challenged with “who goes first” while we are busy typing on our electronic devices is almost nil, perhaps we as a group should be as concerned to be meticulous in our observing this halacha as well.

am yisrael chaiParticipant“If the girls learn the same halacha, they won’t consider it rude.”
If the gentleman acts in a consistent manner, they won’t consider it rude.
Many “girls” learn the same halacha & stand behind to let the men on the bus first before going down the bus aisle to the back. However, there are men who will not grant her enough space to pass through the aisle despite “excuse me”s, making it seemingly ok for a brief contact with her.
You men here in the CR sound like the consistent ones, but there are those who are not doing it for the proper reasons.

Having a whole weekend off is very important to some of us 🙂
am yisrael chaiParticipant“President’s Day” is actually the official celebration of George Washington’s birthday.”
There used to be 2 days off in Feb: Lincoln’s b’day (Feb. 12) & GW’s b’day (Feb. 22). (Remember those days?!)
I’d thought they combined it to 1 day (Presidents’ Day) commemorating both of them to offset the additional national holidays added to the calendar.
