“dubious honor” refers to watching one’s own video. It would be embarrassing and unsettling. Not in regards to Hashem. After reading the original comment again, I still don’t see your point. Sorry.
I remember learning the sources that you quote, but I do not recall them saying that our video is presented to our friends and family here. Having the video known up there is surely embarrassing enough.

What you are describing is a very common dilemma.
You are already halfway there by being able to itemize your goals.
Some suggestions:
-write your goal in the positive form (e.g., I am on time rather than I won’t be late)
-read your goals right before going to sleep & when you get up
-set a time frame (e.g., I will finish my book report by such and such date)
-keep your list & time frames realistic
-reward yourself as you achieve your goals & pat yourself on the back!
-divide a larger goal into smaller ones
-have an accountability partner
-expect ups and downs, but keep on going!
-keep your list handy

I’ve heard that one can have several zivugim, don’t know for sure.
I do not accept that this behavior stems from the kipa sruga.
Proof is that many black yarmulkes complain about the same treatment.
