Yehudah Tzvi ben Elisheva, you are going through a tough time. No doubt about it. May you have a complete recovery soon.

“Now my Elul is being wasted.”

Is it possible that your current ?????? are helping cleanse the slates of many among us? That would certainly not be a waste.

“I feel as if the Sitra Achra has placed this mechitza between me and Hashem.”

The successful modus operandi of the sa is Depression. It is important to be aware of this and guard against it as much as possible.

You write that you are isolated and not experiencing friends’ support. These conditions can be precursors to depression. Can someone make a visiting schedule so that your friends can come on board and remove 1/60th?

Hashem only expects you to do what you can do under these difficult circumstances and nothing more. The hardest might probably be accepting the situation with a modicum of acceptance and blessing. Tough stuff.

You have a tremendous amount of support here from the CR.

    May you have a complete ????? ????? ?? ????? soon.

I haven’t followed threads where this has happened, so I’m just going by your words here.

In general, it’s really not healthy to hold back from saying or discussing something while keeping it in. Depending on the situation, this may be a passive approach (although sometimes it may be better to just ignore certain comments).

There is a skill to learn assertiveness without either aggression or passivity, and when to ignore in a healthy manner, and you may want to learn and practice it here instead of withdrawing.

I know that your presence here has contributed a lot till now, and I’m saying this after reading another refreshing comment you made on the men doing laundry thread.

Sometimes a person can learn better through osmosis by observing actions rather than by being given mussar.

The R”Y saw that the talmid felt so adamantly that it was beneath his kavod to do “menial” tasks. But the R”Y felt differently.

Imagine the talmid’s dismay to see his beloved R”Y taking out his banana peels.

I imagine the talmid absorbed the lesson well.

(A ??? should not walk around with stains on his clothing, but that’s a different principle than helping one’s wife.)

    ========================

Interesting to note, that the home is a “mikdash miat ???? ???.”

The ?????? saw it as a supreme privilege to do any work related to the ??? ?????, even the “menial.” Non-kohanim were not allowed to do this “menial” work.

    FOOD FOR THOUGHT!

In addition, helping usually increases ???? ??? and is great ????? for the kids if there are any there.

This reminds me of the story of a yingerman telling his rosh yeshiva that his wife wanted him to take out the garbage, but he felt this role is beneath a Torah scholar.

The R”Y agreed with his talmid.

That evening, the R”Y came to the talmid’s house to take out the garbage…

xenogamy is a form of cross-pollination (transferring pollen from one plant to a different type of plant).

I cannot think of a single other word that fits the pattern above. Since supergirl is a student, there’s a good chance that she’s studying botany & is familiar with the term.

Shlomo HaMelech wrote “Sheva Yipol Tzaddik Vekam” – “A tzaddik falls seven times, and rises” (Mishlei 24:16).

Poshut pshat is a tzaddik moves on even with his many falls.

Rav Yitzchak Hutner ZT”L explained it that a tzaddik IS a tzaddik BECAUSE he fell 7 times, and then he got up.

In a letter to a student experiencing hard times, Rav Hutner expressed the idea that achieving gadlus is a process of overcoming and moving on. He explained that while we imagine tzaddikim being born righteous, it is more likely that they STRUGGLED to become great!

Rav Yitzchak Hutner (as told by BaalHabooze)

    The Frumguy

Can anyone can help me be “dan l’kaf zechus?”

    Can try, FG, no guarantees.

I can almost guarantee, though, that these same individuals are generally not punctual in other area of their lives.

We know that they can actually do it, as we see when they need to daven before the amud and it is necessary for them to be on time.

There is help for these people if they WANT to change, from learning about the psychology behind chronic tardiness (interesting stuff!) as well as practical behavioral changes.

Oh, yes, at least they are makpid on davening with a minyan.

It exists, but it wouldn’t be a hamotzi.

Gluten-free oats is the only grain that would be gluten-free and hamotzi (barley, rye, wheat, and spelt all have gluten). (There is a more rare sheeta which holds that even oats are not hamotzi.)

There are other flours you could use that tastes great, which would be either mezonos, haadama or shehakol, depending on the flour used (rice flour, potato flour, corn flour, quinoa flour, tapioca flour, almond flour, etc.).

-Is it possible to go to a neighborhood that has an eruv?

-Can you listen online to shiurim on tshuva?

-Can you share “babysitting duty” with another mom in a similar situation so that both moms can take turns going to shul?

Btw, I’ve NEVER heard of the variation stated above..

The kehila waited for the rav to come, but the rav was delayed when hearing a baby cry. The rav tended to the baby’s needs. When finished, the rav continued to shul which is when Kol Nidre began.

There are unfortunately many women over 50 not married.
