You’re a credit (!) to the rest of us….!
am yisrael chaiParticipantWolf,
May we support you in a bid to keep quasi-silent for laining just on Shabbos Shuva?
It would be our zchus and pleasure.
am yisrael chaiParticipantYou are not incorrect, happiest.
I’ve even heard this said in front of their poor kids. Which kid wants to hear they are so unwanted that they hear their parent count down the hours till they’re gone?
Oy.
However, I see this as VASTLY different from mothers who may wish to be in the correct mold and feel all fulfilled while at home with young kids, yet they cannot.
In days of yore when there was extended family around, the young mom had support, adult conversation, and physical help.
Loneliness and isolation can be precursors to worse things ahead. Professionals have studied depression among young moms, a condition which hinders the bonding process.
If you fit this scenario, forget the mold and do what’s best for you and your baby without any guilt of not having “true Torah values” or a victim of “brainwashing.”
If this is not you, then perhaps get together with your friends who are raising young kids themselves for adult stimulation and support.

May this be the most difficult decision you’ll ever have to make.

am yisrael chaiParticipantJust heard 2 shiurim last night before selichos by R Shafier (TorahAnytime) that deals with this question.
The world could have been created with maamad Har Sinai with all of us there.
Yet the Torah shows how Hashem prepared the ENTIRE world for just ONE person, Adam.
This teaches us the principle of that the world was created for ME.
He then continued that in the Next World, we remain the same character that we’ve become in THIS world.
So that using TIME, a most precious commodity, we must have goals and accomplishments and become the person we wish to be…

am yisrael chaiParticipantThanks for your responses.
I want to email it overseas, so the old fashioned way won’t cut it (no pun intended…). I’ve already tried that ad, but no one ever got back to me. And I’m not keen on typing it out myself….there’s gotta be an easier way.

am yisrael chaiParticipantam yisrael chaiParticipantI CHOOSE to look at her positives:
-tremendous charity work, especially in dangerous areas (mine fields, etc.) and very sick kids
-raised kids without bending to outside pressure (birth and schooling locations, etc.)
-tried to be the best mother she could despite coming from a broken home with some poor parenting
-helped teach the importance of wearing seatbelts
It’s just so easy to criticize others.
Whatever happened to ??? ???? ?? ????…
Sure, she wasn’t perfect, perhaps not close, but neither are we…
September 25, 2011 6:26 am at 6:26 am in reply to: What is the kindest thing you've ever done? #812411am yisrael chaiParticipantIt’s amazing how quickly we can recount our negatives yet flounder with our positives!
We must exercise our positive muscles, or else we’re more likely to see the negatives in others as well.
am yisrael chaiParticipantblabla
You write that you have no dignity,
You claim not to have much ability
No strength nor opinion of your own
But that’s not what your words have shown!
Your gratitude shows tremendous class
Of an extremely appreciative gentle lass
You say you’re on the incline headed to the top
Keep fighting, keep going, don’t ever stop!
am yisrael chaiParticipantIt’s a clever joke that belongs on the joke thread

am yisrael chaiParticipantDepression is a dark place
Let it do an about face!
It’s a place of gloom and doom
Where happiness has no room
Try to build your emunah
It’s a great way to build simcha
Knowing Hashem’s on your side
And hurts when you’ve cried
Read The Garden of Emunah
Do it now or even soona’!
It’s the gift that keeps on giving
And you’ll feel the joy in living!
am yisrael chaiParticipantWith deep gratitude to m72, here is a Tehillim list that we posters can complete in the zechus for a refua shlaima for Yehudah Tzvi ben Eliheva:

While being zoche today to say Tehillim at one time once again b’chasdei Hashem, you kept popping up in my mind how you are managing in your quest to not fight with your sister.

SO sorry for your loss. And for the subsequent media hounding. It’s difficult when people do not connect to your pain or to you as a person, rather see you as just a conduit to information for curiosity’s sake.
am yisrael chaiParticipant????? is the buffer between ?? ???? (the ?????) and Rosh Hashana.
We need to hear the words of tochacha before Rosh Hashana, but Hashem doesn’t want us to be in unhealthy fear where we cannot function properly or be overwhelmed with despair, so Nitzavim is the buffer between the two.
am yisrael chaiParticipantPardon moi, but rabbonim should not be referred to as nutcases even in jest.
am yisrael chaiParticipantThanks, Sam, once again… and again 🙂

Thinking of you once again today.
Wondering how are your spirits and if you’ve had company as yet.
Refua shlaima
Have a wonderful Shabbos.
am yisrael chaiParticipantI can till remember a substitute teacher I had in grade school who actually tackled this topic with a mashal, which he proceeded to demonstrate:
Imagine there’s a counterfeit $20 bill standing alone.
Now imagine there’s a counterfeit $20 bill among many real bills.
Which one will be spotted quicker and rejected?

1. My mother is a typical Jewish mother. Once she was on jury duty. They sent her home. She insisted SHE was guilty.
2. A waiter comes over to a table full of Jewish women and asks, “Is anything okay?!”

1. Under same management for over 5763 years.
2. Don’t give up. Moses was once a basket case.
3. What part of “Thou shalt not” don’t you understand?

When you feel despondent in the wee hour of the night
And you keep thinking of your very sad plight
Could you try to read the poems on this very thread
And try to replace the negative thoughts dancing in your head
You’ll see that your sadness come during the darkness
It would help if you have this awareness
Reread those poems which give you support
You are not alone as much as you purport
You are such an important part of our nation
Whose going through a tough time in the duration
The light at the end of the tunnel surely will come
Then you’ll be singing all day and at night you will hum
You just plug forward till that day will arrive
Your personality and soul will just start to thrive
Let’s be patient till that day will unfold
And then you’ll see you’ve got a heart of pure gold
Use this opportune time to beg for a great New Year
That your only concern should be about what to wear!
Cry to Hashem for the help that you need
May you be fortunate to have a wonderful year decreed!

Hello there, yoseyg!

Whoa!!!
How did you do that????
Oh, you used ? as the base and then played around with the remaining 150- very clever!
am yisrael chaiParticipantaries
Partially hydrogenated oils are VERY unhealthy.
There are natural pb’s such as Skippy, which uses sugar but no hydrogenated oils, and would be a healthier option and has no separation.
Btw, if you ever decide to go with the truly natural variety, you can use the peanut oil on top in a cookie batter (yum) and keep the rest for your spread, if that makes you more comfy.
