I’ll try to adopt your positive attitude…I’m usually so serious on YO”K.
Thanks!

It is just quite intellectual
Just go to some lengths
To focus on your strengths
Pray your weakness be less detectable

“Wow, weird that I randomly was looking…”
It’s great when you’re able to see when Hashem orchestrates events that seem “coincidental”
“she really brings out the worst in me.”
Could you use this as an opportunity to work on your midos?
Perhaps figure out what triggers you, and devise a game plan when confronted with a similar scenario.
I’m sure everyone here in the CR is giving you chizuk and wishing you much hatzlacha!

It’s HASHEM who gave us the gift of bechira, how we choose to live our lives, so that we can earn our schar.
There are plenty of people who have increased their Yiddishkeit due to this technology and others who were in fact INTRODUCED to Yiddishkeit because of it.
I can understand if someone chooses not to own it (pun intended), but to blame someone else for one’s misbehavior??
am yisrael chaiParticipantWhoa! My last post went through? Impressive!

Perhaps we need checks and balances…
am yisrael chaiParticipantI looked up 411 and Debbie is a guy’s last name.
Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a guy’s first name as well somewhere, either.
When I was a kid, I remember being surprised when taking a state test that after completing one’s name, one had to check off the box for gender.
Couldn’t they tell from the name, I’d thought.
A nechitge tug.

Achdus is NEVER empty, no matter how large or small of a scale it may be.
One’s goal should be to start small and then branch out to include others.
Very exemplary.
May ALL live in achdus despite hashkafic differences. AKY”R.
am yisrael chaiParticipantWhat a great lesson that he used his time on this planet despite the illness, only resigning 6 weeks ago, and not indulging in self-pity or a pity party.
In addition, he did not choose to use his unfortunate circumstance of being relinquished by his natural parents to be given away almost immediately to strangers.
He also did not give up when he was down and out, forgave and came back to help his company which kicked him to the curb.
Nobody’s perfect.
It’s our choice how we’d like to see things.

Perhaps you can continue looking ahead without turning away.
Turning your back on someone or looking away may be offensive to many.

This is how they create revenue in a depressed economy.
And technically it is a private lot.
am yisrael chaiParticipantWondering…
“I wish I could feel more regret…”
You seem to be judging yourself, which may not be a healthy thing!
Can you just accept yourself where you ARE, that you do indeed feel regret (even if it’s not to the extent that you wish) and just work from there without judgment?
am yisrael chaiParticipantm22
Firstly, let me reiterate that I think you did a great thing how you handled your situation. You definitely gave your child a great chinuch by discussing what you’d like to do differently.
Secondly, I think it’s a good chinuch to let your child learn a behavior’s consequences. Give him calmly the broom and dustpan to clean up the mess.
-Everyone has midos which need improvement. This is a major goal to accomplish in this world. Never accept the level where you are, always aim higher.
-You may find it helpful to read R Zelig Pliskin’s book Anger, the Inner Teacher.
-Know what your triggers are that make you more angry (lack of sleep, poor nutrition, a challenge to your ego, lack of support, unresolved issues, not enough alone time, etc.)
-Have a plan in place for when you begin to feel angry (deep breathing, time out, exercise, sense of humor, get support, put on music, etc.)
-See your relationships as opportunities to improve this middah
===============================================================
“I feel like we were created a certain way, and then given the mitzvah not to be that way (not to sound apikorsodik).”
You were given this middah to work on, not to keep as is!
-Both Esav and David Hamelech were given the same characteristics: red, murderous, etc. Yet look how with identical angry characters, they each CHOSE their own path in life.
-Both Bilaam and Moshe Rabbenu were given similar characteristics, but they channeled their characteristics differently.
You are on your way to change your spiritual and physical health!
Hatzlacha raba!

You did great IMHO.
In addition, you may also want to consider calmly passing your child the broom and dustpan to collect all those spit-out popcorn kernels.
am yisrael chaiParticipantI’ve **consistently** replied not to send me anything unless it has passed the Snopes test.
I was tired of receiving all these “alarming” emails that were totally or mostly false, and I would respond with the corresponding Snopes link proving the fallacy.
Problem solved (at least, till now…)
