“So instead of going from secular rock n roll music to Jewish hartzik music right away, you might find some hip-hop music that you like…”

going from good rock ‘n roll to hip-hop?! not a good plan IMO… it’s much trashier.

am yisrael chai~ in hindsight, I shouldn’t have butted in.. I thought I was being protective of the poster who was being called a name. :/

coffee addict~ are you referencing ‘What Exactly Do The Mods Know?’, about IP addresses?

as far as I was concerned, that matter- which took over this entire thread- was irrelevant to the OP; in this case, it doesn’t matter to me who wrote from which IP address, under which SN…

Peacemaker~ unwarranted name-calling was & is inappropriate. JMHO.

I believe that if it had been said in normal everyday speech usage terms, i.e. edited it would’ve been edited.

    Just kidding

I’m pretty sure at least one of the poster’s name calling posts (see OP, duh) still remains. :/

I just asked my DH.. he said they happened to have discussed this in his shiur last week. he said al pi Kabbalah they should be worn behind the ears. he said one Chossid [in his shiur] said he does take his peyos out before S’E (my husband said he’s “seen this for years already”); my DH doesn’t know the reason why– minhag.

    sorry, that’s all I could get 😉

    B’H & Mazel Tov!!

8 yrs. ago, when my older daughter was in shidduchim, I started learning “Chofetz Chaim: A Lesson A Day” & before/within/around the 40 days she had met & became engaged to her now husband of 8 yrs. & B’H they have 3 children, k’a’h. 🙂

I *think* that my DH wears his behind his ears because his father did.

but daily, after the mikvah, he wears his foot-longs out so that they can dry (?)

insofar as your question, OP– I’m not in the men’s section during davening, so I don’t know what’s going on.. nor why.

Busy As A Bee~ I’ve been reading the CR forum for about 2 yrs. or so. I registered to participate in Dec.’10. I’ve very much enjoyed the convos & discussions that go on here. I agree that peeps have gotten very passionate in their responses & yes, it is sad, sometimes unforgivable, when personal attacks are made; there should always be mutual respect for fellow Yidden & the ability to ‘agree to disagree’.

I’m 60 yrs. old., B’H, k’a’h, & have made mention several times that there should be a ‘Cocoa Room’ subdivision for the youngins. JMHO.

me to the Mods: “…please delete the poster’s comments wherein he has called the CR posters ‘dolts’ in at least 2 threads that I saw?!

I posted my comments on said threads in caps, which were posted, but the name-calling poster’s comments remain in at least one thread.

as I said above^, “I’m sorry to say that I felt just as disrespected & abused by the complacency & non-action of the Mods..”

I don’t understand (especially in The Nine Days!):

why the Moderators were not doing their job in moderating submissions, as they clearly were not last night .. even after seeing the distress that was being caused me.

(even tho’ they did delete Bar Shattya’s comment to me: “stop crying you dolt”).

“Cyber-bullying is “the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior by an individual or group, that is intended to harm others”.”

I’m sorry to say that I felt just as disrespected & abused by the complacency & non-action of the Mods, as I felt from the rude, lacking Derech-Eretz comments of above-referenced poster to myself & others.

    I just hit the big 6-0, B’H, k’a’h.

it’s hit me pretty hard cuz it’s such a high number, but I feel wayyy younger in spirit! … it’s just that my body (health) isn’t keeping up with my youthful spirit & THAT is what scares me!

but I feel very accomplished because I’ve raised & married off my 4 children, & have grandchildren, B’H!
