always hereParticipant
I’d suggest a shpritz bottle of tepid water…. gentler.
always hereParticipantI also think something for the upcoming Yontif- a unique honey dish or a pretty hand-painted plate to serve apples, or a nice fish platter (pewter?)… if not, then a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
always hereParticipantI remember 32 yrs ago, @ the levaya of the Satmar Rebba ZT’L, being stared @ by the children so much so that I felt like they thought I was a shiksa. I had my 6 mo. old son in a stroller. my DH was by the men, of course; he’s Chassidish, so no problems for him. :/
(The Satmar Rebba,ZT’L, put my husband’s tefillin on him for the first time.)
always hereParticipantwe have a Mima (Aunt) Yenta. in recently years she calls herself ‘Yehudit”.
always hereParticipantam yisrael chai~ I believe they’re from the Chicago area . (I remember blizzard posts). ….& yes, I know Chi-town’s not a state 😉
always hereParticipantRefua sheleima b’karov to both!
always hereParticipantif he’s from the UK, then we should be saying ‘braces’ instead of ‘suspenders’!
in the UK: ‘suspenders are what ladies’ use to hold up stockings, although this term was also used for the contraptions men used to use to hold up their socks’.
🙂
always hereParticipantI prefer a light coffee & always drink Elite, plain &/or vanilla.
my DH prefers the strong(er) gourmet roast Taster’s Choice Nescafe, brown label.
always hereParticipantmy daughter said the Taster’s Choice hazelnut & vanilla only come in the small packets now (boxes of individual servings). they’re available @ Shoprite & I’m sure elsewhere.
always hereParticipantElite also makes vanilla coffee. I get it @ Mt. Fruit, but I’m sure it’s sold elsewhere.

Woodbourne!! “Approximately forty people were evacuated from a Private bungalow colony, located just below the former location of the Aladdin in Woodbourne at Hasbrouck Drive as runoff from the Neversink River flooded the area. All eight bungalows on the property are partially submerged with approximately one to two feet of water entering the units” ! :-O
always hereParticipantso busy taking photos of our bungalow colony owner chainsawing the tree that cracked & fell near a bungalow about an hr. or so ago, that I was walking backwards, one foot went into a water-filled pothole, my Croc fell off & I started to lose my balance; twisted my leg around a bit trying to keep my balance, as I can’t fall!!, per dr.’s orders, cuz of my degenerating ribs 🙁 .. took a codeine & resting now. what a dodo!!

What's the hurricane situation? #804758always hereParticipantI finally fell asleep a little after 5am. woke up around 8am to no power– which @ this bungalow colony means no running water, no toilet flushing(selicha). power went back up about 2 hrs. ago. lost power for 3-4 hrs. total. it’s drizzling & breezy now. B’H!
always hereParticipantyes, thank you!

B’H I parted extremely amicably with my first husband.
my DH wasn’t as lucky with his 1st wife at the time of their parting, but then they were able to smooth things out.
thankfully, we brought no baggage into our marriage.
always hereParticipantsounds like something I’d do, Goq :-O
always hereParticipantre: the Brown’s Hotel~ when Reuben & Cecile Margolis took over as owners [about 22 yrs. ago] it was glatt kosher. (before that, it was just ‘kosher’). the hashgacha was from the Chof-K @ first, then Rabbi Reiss from the O-U. my husband was a mashgiach there that year. it was great– we’d pack up from nearby Ganz & go there every Fri.-Sun. .. then we went back up for Succos that year. 🙂
always hereParticipantIzzy & Anita (‘Mom’s Knishes’ for the last several years) used to go to Ganz.. they were my neighbors there 🙂
always hereParticipantsweet as sugar post, always runs…. 😀
always hereParticipantthanks, Goq! I had the bestest, funnest time! 😉

always hereParticipantaries~ IMO good rock ‘n roll is music from the ’60’s & ’70’s.
OTOH– hip-hop, & “Gangsta rap.. a subgenre of hip hop.. reflects the violent lifestyles of inner-city American black youths.” with “lyrics [that are] more violent, openly confrontational, and shocking… featuring incessant profanity.”
