eclipse~ I think I may owe you an apology, re: your nightmare thread that was closed, probably cuz of me 🙁 .. I had asked you your sign, & then automatically thought that you had responded, but apparently it was a male, & then someone else posted, too. I dunno why I thought it was a private conversation between us. and apparently it was considered inappropraite CR material. so.. sorry!

Health~ all just IMO; I have no experience with sinus infections, B’H. .. no medical training/ just trying to help.

my best advice: see a doctor, and my best wishes for a complete, speedy recovery!

aries~ the only connection of the pink eye to everything else that ails you, IMO, would be the germs from coughing, etc. got into your eyes 🙁

    just a guess…

but then again, that’s just the sun sign.. there are so many other influences. they say that actually your rising sign is how you come off to people..

    I’m a Cancer w/ Gemini rising.

Gemini is the sign of communications, but I just felt more emotions coming from you (which led to my guess of a water sign).

<Health~ recently my pain management dr. ordered a chest CT for something else; my PCP saw the results, listened w/ a stethoscope, & said I had mild (walking) pneumonia; I had NO symptoms (cough, etc.); he put me on a 5 dy regimen of antibiotics. THEN I developed a bad, lingering cough. a follow-up chest x-ray came out clear & fine… it’s all good, no bronchitis nor anything else, B’H>

when in doubt, check it out! 🙂

oh! this was written directly after Health’s post. refuah sheleima b’karov, aries!!

smartcookie~ I was soo interested when the ‘what do you do for a living?’ thread was up… I wanted to get a ‘feel’ for the peeps in the CR… (until the DD tangent).

now I am truly interested in the age group (i.e.- 15-17, 40-50) of the posters. I posted on another thread that I felt like I was caught in the midst of a teenage chat room :/

I stopped using NYC public transportation a good while ago…. mainly cuz the last few times I did, I had to ask a young person for their seat cuz I couldn’t stand 🙁 .. I’m not elderly, don’t look THAT old.

but more recently, when I was in Israel using public transportation, I’d definitely get up for someone older than myself who looked like they needed a seat, or even for a pregnant woman if I saw no one else was offering their seat. THEN, someone younger than me would go ahead & offer me their seat.

we used to have alot of older single men come to us, but things got reallyy crazy (even drove my husband to distraction), when they’d start giving us longg lists of what they’d eat (only turkey, only whole wheat challah, etc.) & what they didn’t (no cooking with salt, pepper, sugar, onions, beans, red meat, & the list goes on). for each guest we’d try to accommodate him for awhile (or even years), until it became EXPECTED of us to cook & supply the proper foods, &/or until the lists of do’s & don’t’s became tooo infringing. (btw– these guests never helped @ all, nor ever brought anything… I’m just sayin’)

why’d we continue to have them over for as long as we did? cuz they are/were basically nice men.

my husband & I walked 3 of our children down to the chuppah. In June our last child got married. the kallah has divorced parents & she was the first of ka’h 9 children to be married. her mother asked me would I mind if the 2 mothers walked her daughter down because she was so uncomfortable being around her ex-husband; & the 2 fathers would walk my son down. in my heart, I felt really badly about not walking my last child, my son, down to the chuppah with my husband; but the machataynesta turned out to be such a sweet lady (we met for the first time @ the wedding cuz they all flew in from Israel),< plus knowing the circumstances of the divorce>, that I cheerfully agreed … & B’H it was still great!! .. I survived, & the divorced parents were able to remain out of each other’s way.

“Enjoying your hard-earned money is not the same as throwing it in other people’s faces to get some kavod – or to prove to yourself that you “deserve the best” when you maybe feel a little doubtful about yourself.”

I had won a 5 dy/4 nite stay @ a 2 wk. kosher program @ a resort in Colorado. we had wanted to extend our stay, but found the cost too high for our wallets. the program was quite full & no one I saw there had any sort of attitude of “better than thou'”… they were all just really nice frum people, all different types of Jews. and I KNOW how costly the program was! (and please don’t say that maybe all the other guests had also won their stay.)
