wellmeaning~ “R Yonah Landau specializes in locating Kivrei Tzadikim in the USA. any has contact info?” … I was only trying to be helpful with the (only) info I had seen recently. the ad says: “an opportunity to daven for health, parnassa, shidduchim.”

In this wk’s ‘Flatbush Jewish Journal’ there’s a full pg ad: ‘Visit Kivrei Tzadikim, a half-day of inspiration in the local NY area’. it lists which kevarim are being visited, etc.

with Harav Moshe Y. Scheinerman, shlita

I don’t buy albums, or cds (or ‘rent’, as per the CR controversy).

whenever I win a Jewish music cd at a Chinese auction, I hand it right over to my daughter; she only listens to Jewish music with her family.

those were happy days, good times…. for us.

my husband appreciates the same music, too .. and we’re not bothering anyone, nor undergoing bad changes to ourselves, by enjoying our music.

I also enjoy watching & listening online to Rebbishe mitzvah tantzes, so go figure.

my problem with Jewish music, is that I don’t understand the lyrics, but enjoy many of the tunes… just not my preference.

and we don’t eat pork :/

smart cookie~ “Someone please explain HOW you can live in one house with a cat or dog? I can’t even walk past them outdoors!”

just because you have an aversion to pets, doesn’t mean that others can’t form attachments. I had cats & subsequently 3 litters of kittens (that were given away at various times). my husband made me get rid of the remaining cats I had (he caught some kittens on the dining room table on seforim). I miss having a cat terribly & would love to get a kitten again!! especially since we have an empty nest now.

Mexican family theme is very easy to do… colorful ponchos & oversized colorful sombreros .. not too hard to do shalach manos with that theme either. 🙂

wow! that’s incredible .. a few yrs back, when I used to shop there, you could barely move cuz it was so crowded. (that was before they opened up across the street, too). I think I got confused cuz it was Rosenberg’s/Penina’s/Family Fare that had the fire.

ha ha ha ha~ I just don’t understand why the Mods didn’t correct it.(selicha, Mods). when I’m in doubt about a spelling, I google it. on my computer that died, I had Firefox w/ a spell checker; I’m now using my son’s, & it doesn’t seem to have a spell checking option. but it’s no big deal to look it up.

“Thats why most psychologists specialize in a specific mental health issue for this reason. (Such as if they had addiction issues they would specialize in that etc”

I don’t agree with your comment. I don’t think that, for the most part, therapists specialize in areas that they themselves needed help in. JMO

“I know of a great therapist who helps out a lot of ppl. But she seems to be a real difficult person. Her husband looks weary and wrung out as if he’s going through hell. Who knows?”

we know a great therapist who’s husband my husband has noticed a change in, at shul. we think it could be possibly an illness, cv’s. might the same be true in your case, as opposed to blaming the therapist? one would hope if she’s a ‘great’ therapist, she would be just as great with her own loved ones. not sayin’ that’s necessarily true, but it seems likely.

my son wrote on the florist’s little card “To: ___, I’m so happy you’re going to be my wife! From: Your Chossen”.

OTOH, at my daughter’s vort there was this HUGE, shmancy floral arrangement (the biggest waste of alot of money IMO) with a long, printed poem that we all “awww”ed over, that my daughter’s future shvigger had ordered (for the Chossen) along with the flowers. BTW- a few days later Hostess International called us that they were coming to pick up the vase that the arrangement had been made in. …no comment.

“Digging to a depth of 1,000 meters in rural France last year, archeologists found traces of copper wire dating back 1,000 years. The French came to the conclusion that their ancestors had a telephone network centuries ago.

Not to be outdone by the French, English scientists dug to a depth of 2,000 meters. Shortly thereafter headlines in the U.K. newspapers read: “English archeologists have found traces of 2,000-year-old fiber- optic cable and have concluded that ancestors had an advanced high-tech digital communications network a thousand years earlier than the French.”

One week later, Israeli newspapers reported the following: “After digging as deep as 5,000 meters in a Jerusalem marketplace, scientists found absolutely nothing. They thus concluded that 5,000 years ago Jews were using wireless technology. “

my daughter used to use those hot irons, but then she used her own money to get a ‘Japanese Hair Straightening’ @ a salon. I don’t remember how long it lasted in reality, but read this: “The results for Japanese Hair Straightening usually last for one year and may require a touch-up session to take care of new growth.”
