always hereParticipant
what’s the story? the CR’s closed for all Pesach?
always hereParticipantwhen my son was younger he was allergic to corn, so @ Pesach we used to stock up on many items that are made year-round with corn syrup: i.e.- ketchup, lollipops & other candies…
always hereParticipantI still don’t know what we’re going to do! the kitchen’s almost finished. my DH said he’ll buy food (to be eaten @ the kitchen table) & I said: “what?! breakfast, lunch, & supper?” this is crazy to be finished so early when we all still want to eat chometz, but we had to work around our cleaning girl’s schedule.
always hereParticipantwe’re finishing up the kitchen today, but not turning it over yet… it’s too soon for us!
always hereParticipantthe old Netanya on Ave. J in Flatbush: the best tasting sauce (to me… not spicy), & nice ‘n cheesy. but now there’s new ownership & I have yet to find a pizza place that has the sauce just how I like it.
always hereParticipantstop smoking :/
always hereParticipanton the 2nd day of Pesach we celebrate my husband’s birthday 🙂
always hereParticipantmy shvigger, a’h, used to make falsa fish.. shaped like gefilte fish, made from ground chicken, cooked in water. they didn’t eat fish on Pesach.
always hereParticipantaltho’ it’s my son-in-law’s family’s custom to give the engagement ring after the chuppah (Lubavitch), my daughter wanted her ring earlier; come to think of it, her mother-in-law gave it to her @ the vort, after calling in my son-in-law from the men’s section.
always hereParticipantI’m grateful that the worst that seems to have come from the Con Ed transformer explosion on my corner seems to be only alot of smoke!! I’m grateful that my 6 y.o. grandson & all the other boys in Yeshiva Chaim Berlin are apparently all fine, too. B’H!! I’m grateful that my daughter & granddaughter got to my house safely immediately after it happened! B’H.
always hereParticipantmisleading, confusing title: not wedding ring–> diamond engagement ring.
always hereParticipantI don’t know why I thought I was the only one to have & call it my bag of bags! LOL 😉
always hereParticipantI feel badly for ursula! when I read her post, I just read her comments about what she was grateful for: her family, etc.
now I feel that I may havta censor myself for things in my life that I’m grateful for cuz other people don’t have that in their life? I’m not trying to be insensitive here- at all- but… can we only post comments as long as they’re parve?!
I don’t wanna talk about UPS guys!!! :/
I’m just sayin’…
always hereParticipantha ha ha ha~ Mazel Tov! may you both together be zoche to build a binyei adei ad!
April 7, 2011 4:00 pm at 4:00 pm in reply to: How long before Y"T does your house become Pesachdik? #1009501always hereParticipantZeesKite~ I can understand how this thread can be disturbing.
for years when all my children were younger/living at home, & I worked, & my husband worked full days/late hours, we would finish up for Bedeket Chometz late in the night.. & be covering counters & tables erev Yontif. but– as has been said to death- we all sit down to the Seder at the same time.
I almost feel like I’m cheating… I have a girl coming over 2-3 times a week, doing one complete room a day [spring cleaning].. & I’m not ‘down in the trenches’ cleaning my fingers down to the bone. (thank G-D for self-cleaning ovens, too).
I’ve been reading all your posts (PLEASE get more sleep!!!!) & I’m sure, that for the removal of all the chometz from your home & life, you will be rewarded, iy’H.
stay strong, but don’t make yourself crazy! 🙂
April 7, 2011 2:28 pm at 2:28 pm in reply to: How long before Y"T does your house become Pesachdik? #1009499always hereParticipantFeif Un~ I have the same exact answer (comment). 🙂
always hereParticipantmy 3 y.o. granddaughter is eating some salad. “I found marror!” she said excitedly. =]
always hereParticipantthanks, oomis. good idea to try it on something else first before the leichter. =]
always hereParticipantI don’t know what heartburn feels like! I thought, cv’s, I was having heart or chest (lung?) problems… that’s why I was so surprised to have been prescribed antacid! but it worked, so…
always hereParticipantI’m grateful for calls from my grandchildren.
today my 5 y.o. grandson called to tell me about his new clothing for Pesach. soo sweet, ka’h 😀
always hereParticipant2 separate times, a year apart, after returning from Israel, I had peculiar feelings around my heart. (& those times I ate the healthiest, drank the most water, & exercised the most). normal EKGs, B’H, & I was prescribed Prilosec both times. boy! was I surprised… heartburn? really?
always hereParticipantcherrybim~ thank you for the photo link. B’H they’re ok.
always hereParticipantwow!! did I get fooled & was I off!! I thought HRH appeared on April Fool’s Day &, at first, thought he was Mod-80… then the Editor. this is embarrassing! :-O
always hereParticipantsmileyface136~ I agree. as I’ve said in the past, there should also be a cocoa room 🙂
always hereParticipantGumBall~ sorry, but: serious accident does not equal LOL :/
always hereParticipantwe’re here for you adorable~ talk it out here as much as you need to. …hoping to hear that you’re calm soon.
always hereParticipantI’ve used the silver polishing gloves & cloths, but am very curious about that aluminum foil method. does it havta be ‘Spic ‘n Span’ or will other liquid cleaners work, i.e. ‘Mr. Clean’??
always hereParticipantI yam what I yam and that’s all what I yam 😉
always hereParticipantreal-brisker~ nah, I was thinking more along the lines of a Mod or Editor. didn’t he show up for April Fool’s Day?? … just a feeling, but I’ve been wrong about my guesses before 😉
always hereParticipantMy daughter had been dating for about 2 years.. 13 boys.
I’m not a big learner, but I decided to learn from ‘Chofetz Chaim – A Lesson A Day’ daily for 40 days. Just about at the end of the 40 days, she was redt a shidduch, & they were engaged 2 1/2 weeks – 6 or so dates- later. That was almost 8 years ago. B’H!!
I promise this is true.
(I believe) my daughter’s biggest thing was to daven for CLARITY.
always hereParticipantI’m grateful that my older daughter just picked up my sheitel to bring in to be redone! 🙂
always hereParticipantsmartcookie~ I know of a very similar story… we know the boy. (they recently had a baby, B’H.)
always hereParticipantI’m curious as to what HRH’s subtitle would be… hmmm ;-P
(I’m such a yenta).
always hereParticipantI’m grateful for the special quality time I got to spend with my younger daughter over Shabbos 🙂
always hereParticipantbpt~ hope you (& all) only HEARD it!
always hereParticipantI don’t think I’ve ever been *EDITED*, but when my posts get rejected I take it, not as a potch, but as a FRASK, & take it very personally; I usually go AWOL (AFK in computer-speak: away from keyboard), get a little introspective. …& then I come back.
always hereParticipantGmail Motion BETA video …. funny!! .. wish I could post the link
always hereParticipantI’m now having an ‘LOL’ moment 😉
always hereParticipantDaas Yochid~ surf & turf is fish & meat — surf=water, turf=land; typically in goyish/treif restaurants they serve a main dish of lobster & a piece of steak (on the same plate).
always hereParticipanteclipse~ I believe I know WHO you are, but I don’t know YOU.
always hereParticipantI am egocentric in my speech… you can see it in my posts: me,me,me.
I recognize it & know it.
(not in deed.)
always hereParticipantfind your zigug,
I pray for thee..
so you end up happily married
for many, many years like me!
always hereParticipantam I having an ‘aha!’ moment?! ..hmmmm
always hereParticipantso poignant, EzratHashem
always hereParticipanthmmmm… I forgot about the YW Editor, cuz he(?) hardly posts … = HRH (not Mod 80)
April 1, 2011 3:16 pm at 3:16 pm in reply to: Live out of town and I need (fresh affordable) food for Pesach #755123always hereParticipantdefinitely depends where out of town you are!
I remember when, years ago, we shlepped suitcases of Pesach food to my sister in Seattle, only to find an Albertson’s with a selection, including shmurah matzo.
always hereParticipantLOL 😉
yesss, of course! I coddle, agree, comment, revere, honor, obey, respect, idolize, etc., etc., etc. (kudos to ‘The King & I’)
;-D
happy April fools’ day!
always hereParticipant“the more colorful threads, the more lively the fabric!” …
niiiice 🙂
always hereParticipantfollowing along Zeeskite’s reasoning (beautiful post, btw):
each one of us is like a snowflake… no two alike. 🙂
always hereParticipantMod/His Royal Highness~ are you having a split-personality moment?! just wondering… ;-D
