always hereParticipant
nottelling~ I thought I knew who you are (SN).. but now I’m thrown off cuz you’re calling me by my whole name 😉
always hereParticipantDaas Yochid~ ‘Why, what did you write?’
thank you for your response 🙂
I wrote strongly about how smoking is an addiction, etc., etc.’
always hereParticipantnottelling~ I have a feeling that I know who you are.. a sensitive soul like myself… the difference is that I don’t feel ignored IRL.
I would say there is literally less than a handful of posters who respond to my posts. sometimes I feel like posting again a little further down in a thread, signing myself as ‘chopped liver’. truthfully, I felt ostracized since my posts on smoking. I’m just sayin’…
nottelling~ I think you should keep your regular SN. 🙂
always hereParticipantdid I write this under another screen name? hmmm, I think so.
always hereParticipantthanks to YWN for the posting on main pg of celebrations around the world!
watching the almost 10 minute clip of the celebration @ Toldos Aaron brought me so much joy.. I have tears in my eyes.
actually, I started out looking for our cousins.
brought back memories of going there w/ a Shomrei Emunim cousin to hear the beautiful singing Friday night. all the women were wearing black teichels & I was wearing a white one, lol.
always hereParticipantI apologize for hijacking. selicha.
always hereParticipantHealth~ it was the royal ‘We’ 😉 .. actually, I was responding to ‘anon for this’.
fyi- I only have this one SN, but as a member- equal to anyone else here in the CR- I am able to respond to any post. …..duh
always hereParticipantwake up on your left side today, didja?! 😉
always hereParticipant(didn’t realize we’d havta spell it out in black & white…. esp. to one who consults medical tomes.)
always hereParticipantHealth~ I have no medical experience, except for being an internist’s dream specimen :/ … but I can see a possible correlation. I’m just sayin’
always hereParticipantoops! but didja google TS? I’m sure there’s a connection.
always hereParticipantHealth~ I would guess that ‘simchas’ has info to share.. not here, tho’.. (privately?)
May 22, 2011 3:49 pm at 3:49 pm in reply to: Why don't jews have dogs? It is clear in the gemara and shulchan aruch that #770392always hereParticipantImaofthree~ I had cats; but when the newest litter of 3 were climbing onto the table onto my husband’s seforim… that was the end of it. now I have a fish :/ .. I’d love to have a kitten again now that all my children are married/out of the house. I’d love the companionship.
always hereParticipantwhat does ‘FWIW’ mean, please?
always hereParticipantlocal Orthodox Rabbi; in other words.
always hereParticipantIOW. OTOH.
always hereParticipantwalk on the ‘do not walk on the grass’ grass.
always hereParticipantpuh-leeze!! ..seriously, are these flavors popular? :/
always hereParticipantGoq~ didja ever try it? sounds, ummm, errr .. give me coffee or cherry vanilla, please 😉
always hereParticipantdunno & adorable~ there’s ‘friendly’ & there’s ‘intrusive’. as you get older you’ll see there is a big difference. I love warm, friendly people but others, (passive-aggressive for example), not so much.
always hereParticipantyup! … yum, soba (buckwheat)pasta brittle atop faux ice cream, lol 😉
always hereParticipantGoq~ I also saw that show & was taken aback by what they were describing as ‘slimey’ Jew’s Mallow. I had never heard of it before either.
always hereParticipantlol @ your post, ICOT! 🙂
always hereParticipantselicha for my omission! … a hearty Mazel Tov!! 😀
always hereParticipanthaha. maybe I could have referred to you by your subtitle, lol 😉
always hereParticipantto: I can’t bring myself to write your name, & I’m not gonna shorten it cuz my screen name has always been shortened by peeps here in the CR to ‘always’ 😉
I agree with you 100%. this prying/interrogation has also always gone against my grain & is a pet peeve of mine.
my solution? I answer succinctly… answer what I choose to and refuse to be pulled into another’s line of questioning. sometimes they are just speaking to hear the sound of their own voice; besides for that, I don’t feel the need to supply info to another just so they can pass it on.
you must be a kinder, gentler soul than I 🙂
always hereParticipantummm…hmmm… I guess I don’t usually joke about a Sefer Torah
always hereParticipantgetzel1~ seriously? I didn’t respond to your first comment. or are you just trying to be cute/witty?
to be clearer: it is not an online Sefer Torah, DUH.
hope I’m not being cranky… not in a joking mood today 🙁
always hereParticipant“Goq, can you get someone you trust to ask the Baal Simcha? Id want clarity. I’d feel the same way as Goq.” I definitely agree.
Goq~ recently we found out that our neighbor from across the street was making a wedding for his son but we hadn’t received an invitation… pretty much the only ones on the block who didn’t. my husband had even been at the neighbor’s own wedding! another neighbor mentioned it to the Baal Simcha, who then personally came over to my husband & apologized & invited us. obviously, it had been lost in the mail.
I’m just sayin’…
always hereParticipantmy husband wears a black suit, white shirt every day… I wear a long jeans skirt almost every day. go figure.
I’m just sayin’….
always hereParticipanthaving made 4 weddings, B’H, I KNOW that a number of invitations get lost in the mail.
Goq~ please be comforted & don’t take it personally. .. my! that sounded trite .. but it is sincere 🙂
always hereParticipantit’s actually quite an impressive website! you can pretty much choose your letter in which Book, parsha, sentence, & even word that you want… and it’s free.
it made me happy.
always hereParticipantooh, ooh!! loved Battleship as a child!! I havta start playing that with the grandbebes, iy’H!
always hereParticipantas a child- Life; in college- Chinese checkers; as a young married- Bridge (yes, it’s a card game); with my children- Rummikub; in my bungalow colony days- Scrabble; with the grandchildren [oldest are 6 y.o.]- Uno (yes, cards again).
always hereParticipanta sterling silver yad.
we once got one for our son’s Rebbe/Menahel … approx. 14 yrs. ago, & I know silver’s gone wayy up in price since then.
always hereParticipantoy! um & umm?!!?!? hmmm
always hereParticipanttruth be told~ ‘shlishi’ has to be a woman (not Joseph)! her last post started out: “on imamother we had this discussion last year.” you HAVE to be a Jewish married woman to join that site!
I’m just sayin’….
always hereParticipantyid.period~ excellent idea! I’ve thought of that many times.
always hereParticipantZees~ so not.
always hereParticipanttime to get back on topic 🙂
always hereParticipantlol, adorable!
no, I’m a mother whose 2 sons were thrown out of school in the past. B’H they’re both married now, but went thru very hard times.
always hereParticipantbinahyeseira~ thanks for thinking of me 🙂 .. I am here (always).. not much to say cuz I have a health insurance issue (cancelled in error, no resolution as yet) on my head that’s got me sadly preoccupied.
following the ‘good boy expelled’ thread closely…
always hereParticipantrite?! curiouser & curiouser….
always hereParticipantcoffee~ hopefully while you’re waiting for the winners to be posted, you’ll get a call saying you won something(s).. g’luck =]
always hereParticipant🙂
flatbushhatzoloh.org .. I don’t think the winners are posted yet, tho’
always hereParticipant“It is very easy to sit in judgment on someone else’s chesbon. I hope you never know the tzar this young man and his family will experience…”
aries~ it’s good to read your words of reason.
it’s really easy to be an armchair tzaddik/dayan; it is very hurtful to be reading some people’s seemingly cold, heartless comments here.
always hereParticipantKiddush, milchig, wait, wash, fleishig.
one year I made a milchig lunch.. everyone in my family was very happy, except my husband. ..my husband says fish & meat for seudas, including for a morning bris.
always hereParticipantmy son once had his father’s video store card on him.. it fell out of his pocket.. & he got expelled immediately. no warning, no second chance.
I think I do believe this could have happened to the boy in the OP.
sad, but true.
always hereParticipant*sits on hands.. too tempted to google* 😉
always hereParticipantjustsimcha~ I can’t believe that you jumped over all those boys!!! (in the bar mitzvah video clip) wow!!
