Lack of Bitochen I imagine would mean that if you are preparing for death, you might have slight doubts about the coming of Moshiach when in fact there will be techiyas hameisim etc….and probably eternal life.

    I stand to be corected.

With all due respect, there were plenty of reformers in Hungary as well, and many iconic Gedolim who have stememd from Germany, Galicia , Lithuania etc.

Divrei Chaim, (Galica) Rav Shamshom R Hirsh, Wurtzburger Rav, Bamberger, Rav Yisroel Salanter, Vilna Gaon to name a few.

    Coffee addict,

Chill out! I just mentioned it as a side point.

In fact there was that famous story where the Chasam Sofer had to travel to a place where there were certain baths he needed for his health. While he was in treatment, the brick walls which surrounded the bath, started to cave in.

The Ch S then realized that there was a Talmid Chochom which was niftar and he wasnt there to give the hesped. He asked Mechila and the walls started to go back.

I dont remember the exact details of the story, but the point was well taken. .

Its not just aboutt what will happen to him in the world to come. We have a right to see Yashrus in this wolrd as well.

He commited a heinous unspeakble crime to aan innocent child.

In fact, I think one of the networks reported that the mother asked one of the authorities if the will catch whoever did this. They assured her they would and that he would be brought to justice.

I’m sure you mean well,a nd dont take this the wrong way.

But in the futur, if anyone wants to release their sanctimonious opinions in public, please pick a more suitable topic.

    Droid,

SO HE WOULD HAVE LIED!!! Better than to come out a killer.

Furthermore, he could have convinced Leiby that he saw he was lost and had intentions to bring him to his parents, blah blah……Strong possibility that he could have pulled it off!

    He was pure evil!

When he saw the flyers indicatiing that Leiby was misssing, he chose to be a murderer rather than a liar.

He could have claimed to have found him then collect the reward. Instead he massacred an innocent child!

Just a thought to prove that he is PURE EVIL!!!!

Lastly, I urge you all to remember the case of Martin Grossman, a year and a half ago. This was also a murderer, who executed a police officer. At the time, because Martin was Jewish, everyone was calling for his life to be spared. Why is this guy any different?

This guy is different because he killed an innocent defensless child who was in no way a threat to him

With GROSSMAN, as guilty as he was, one may argue that he was fightiong off a police officer in self defense….Nothing to do with the victim being a non Jew versus a Jew

Can someon, please explain the logic in why a suspected murderer would be free of conviction if the ENTIRE beis din has no doubt that he was guilty?

Is it because there would be suspicion with regard to the fact that NO ONE has a doubt?

When he was niftar, they found in his safe tons of invoices with his signature for all sorts of charities. He wanted to give quietly as not to get any recognition.

    Jewishness;

‘Mi Keamcho Yisroel, Goy Echod B’Aretz’

‘We’ , not the other nations of the world, accepted the Torah!

‘We’ not the other nations of the world endured persecution and suffering throughout the centuries Al Kiddush Hashem’

‘We’, not the other nations of the world, work endlessly to bring our own back to Yiddishkeit.

‘We’, have less blood on our hands , a cleaner track record (per centage wise, ofcourse) than the other nations of the world.

Ofcourse we have to strive to be better.

I can assure you Hashem is proud of us.!

In fact, its written in Sefer Iyov, that Hashem will never hold it against us if we are angry at Him for any tragedy that might befall us.

May Hashem avenge the blood of our brothers.

There are some times when its ok to be jealous.

The mishneh says ‘Kinas Sofrim Tarbeh Chochmo’

If someone has a talent that might entice you, it will power up your confidence and provoke you to succeed as well.

Ofcourse as far as material issues are concerned, it is a problem which is not easily solvable.

Maybe its best that you look at those LESS fortunate. I know its easier said than done but……

    Ainodmilvado says:

‘The problem IS that, more and more frequently, it IS done for the wrong reasons. ‘

Who died and left YOU to decide whats considered right or wrong?

Its a mitzvah for a man to divorce his wife if thats what she really wants. I know an unfortunate case where a man dragged his wife for 5 yrs just to torment her.

Whatever the case, I heard a shiur from a famed speaker who thought that infidelity is not a reason to break up a family! Acoording to her, anything else less than physical abuse was not grounds for divorce when you have kids.

Then there are ‘shono rishono’ cases where Rabonim unfortunately write very quickly.

Every Bais Din has there own way of handling a situation like this, but there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong reasons.

    Expectations according to the company I worked for are as follows;

Out of every 10 appointments booked, 6 will turn into meetings, 4 will produce fact finds, and only 2 will go to business.

If you can nail 2 out of 10, your on the right track.

Its possible that other companies have different standards though.

Absolutley! they are surely human. But they have to set a certain example,if they want to lead us in the right direction.

I DO see something not gepast for a respectable Rav to be seen eating out in a restaraunt.

There WAS rebbe recently who harshly criticzed the very ‘american’ idea of eating out every Sunday night with family members. He said pple seem to forget that a sister in law is NOT sister , and a father-in-law is NOT a father etc. etc. V’Hameivein yovin!
