the girls do not get tonz of dates! the guys have a ton of names and after looking into them they get 3/4 off the list and then go out with the others. so the girls might be on his list but they are not dating!
i think this is great for safety as well. no one can just go off with the kids on his bus, he is being monitored.
Middle- I think your post is amazing. you dont necessarily see what is wrong with posting about their bands and songs but you were asked not to and you respect that you dont wanna hurt anyone and you are backing down-without trying to fight the system!

Whenever I cry for something insignificant and then realize that I’m being silly, I try and change those tears to be yearning and to get closer to Hashem. I just think about all the people that need things and I cry to Hashem. its hard to get yourself started to cry about things that we dont connect to like the golus that we are in but if you are crying anyhow and think about that its easier

In that way boys might have a harder adjustment to marriage but there is a lot that the girls have to adjust too. just because they are natural “givers” doesnt make it easy for them. Its an adjustment whichever way you slice it.

I think there is a time and place for everything but if you tell them that We dont…watch TV or we dont do… (things that are not assur but just below the standard you set for yourself) then you are sending them a message of confidence too. not that we are holier than though but that we dont do this. theres a certain pride they can get from that.
didnt read the other posts here but I think if you write it down on a paper and put that into the box and then pay it back its fine. but when you pay the tzedaka box back you have to give some extra money for that reason- its not a bank

get inviolved with chesed organizations. I did some of those things in HS with them…went to hospitals…. they pick you up and drop you off and you can go with friends.

I think you should get him something to play with during recess and you’ll see how fast the boys come to play with him. I would speak to the principal behind his back and tell him why your son does not want you to make the call but as the mother you know that your son is suffering. I think your suggestion is a great one about having a rebbe at the recess grounds at all times. I feel bad for you but in the end your son will be a fighter and learn to deal with other people.

GOQ- im cringing just reading that story. I can relate being that I never used to be good at reading hebrew out loud and almost never did it.
so are there more good girls or good guys? im confused. I think there are more good girls than good guys. anyhow where is the scale that you are all measuring the guys and girls by? if there is a bad boy and a bad girl thats a perfect shidduch so why are they bad? because hes not learning all day? that makes someone bad? and because she likes to dress in style and likes to run around shopping with her friends all day????????

I once went to a wedding wearing perfume and all but when I got home something told me that they were at the wedding too and they thought I looked way too “good” for a single girl in shidduchim…meaning attractive. I was not ready to say Ill wear less makeup or something like that but I did say that I wont wear perfume to friend’s weddings as a single girl. I dont need the one to be machshil guys

i can never eat more than a tiny bite of apple pie but i like it. same goes for apple pie. Uch to blueberry. just eat fresh blueberries nothing compares.
