brooklyn-that’s exactly my question. Once the mitzva is fulfilled, is there any reason/mitzva that people will keep having kids with no way of providing for them?
Most people are not completely destitute when they get married, (unless they’re the result of this same vicious cycle.) Most people can work, make money somehow or other. They don’t necessarily start out this way. It’s one thing to have some kids but is it really a mitzva to have fifteen?
Btw, I’m not asking to keep an argument. This is something that really bothers me every time I see it and I would like a real answer.
Beauty’s in the eye of the beholder and yeah if you’re like me, who’s seen what a good-looking guy looks like (I guess it must be the movies…), these guys are not that. Not that they’re necessarily terribly ugly, just not the same. It’s probably also cuz they’re not as well-groomed. I dunno:(
It’s one thing when a person’s in a situation to have bitachon. How could people put themselves into a situation where they have know very well that they have no means of dealing with it? How many families in E”Y live fourteen kids in two rooms and almost no food or clothes? Are they really supposed to have kids number fifteen and sixteen?
Curious- where do you take cleps that it costs you so much money???
We always did soy milk in our house and then wait at least one hour before giving milk to kids. Ask your rabbi as it seems that you don’t usually do what most of us do.
College Level Examination Program. It’s a test on the whole course. This way you don’t have to waste a whole semester taking it, not to mention the cost of every 3-credits in college is kinda expensive.
I took math, bio, american history, analyzing and interpreting lit, umm… the one that you’re taking now. Yeah, I’m all for cleps, why waste a whole semester if you could do it in a couple of hours. But if you think think you’re Queen of Procrastinating then I must be the Empress of Push-It-Off.

I also don’t understand that. How can responsible adults keep having children if they have no means of providing them with food. It really makes no sense to me and it bothers me a lot. Does anyone have a real answer (besides “Where is your bitachon?)?”

I did that for college too, and I still haven’t fully recuperated it’s more dreadful than you could ever imagine and the longer you push it off the better off you will be it is one of the most boring things i’ve done so far for college; GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah I would do the same, except I’d make sure to only tell after cuz I know from experience not to rely on any expectations. They don’t always happen.

Brooklyn- U know that the best teachers were once the worst students, right? Lol, I was every teachers nightmare, and now I’m teaching sixth and seventh grade. Well, they tried me but it didn’t take them 2 long 2 figure out that I’m familiar with these kind of things. I know every prank in the book (and the ones that aren’t) They’re all angels now. Yeah they think I’m totally nuts and I like it that way. Isn’t that how it should be??

People would call all the time to set her up with a “great catch.” When her mother asked what makes you think it’s for my daughter? Well, don’t fall off your chair, but ppl would have no problem saying bec he’s short!!! Guess what? Her husband is six feet tall!!
