What I don’t understand is that less than a month ago during the Vice President Debate when Harris was asked if she would take the vaccine she said she would require addittional testing. Likewise Governor Cuomo also wouldn’t allow them in New York State uless they were reviewed by a panel of his medical experts. Now becuase Biden won vaccines are Mandatory.
Everyday people are being shot with illegal guns many of whom are dying yet I have never heard of warrentless searchs to confiscate these guns. Mandatory vaccines wouldn’t work. Voluntary compliance is the only way. Media campaigns wouldn’t workto convince the masses, becuase for the last 4 years the media has been bad mouthing Trump and yet he got more votes then his previous election when he won the presidency.
You may say that the antivaxxers can stay in their basement but I have been going to work everyday on the subway, my job requires it. While the subways are not packed thery are more than half full during rush hour. So I see it from a different point of view. Others who drive to work, work from home or live outside NYC may see it differently.

I have antibodies or had them back in June when I was tested and wear a mask in public. I work with gentiles and everyone has to wear a mask so even when I don’t have to wear masks I do. In some shuls I am the only one wearing a mask and I also try to keep my distance from others. But if you are at a simcha and food is being served how are you supposed to eat with the mask on? Similarly davening is uncomfortable when wearing a mask, many who wear masks during davening uncover their nose.
Masks are not a cure they can only slow down the rate of infection. Compliance is only accomplished by peer pressure. Most shuls have signs asking people to wear masks but it is only those shuls who have a gabbi handing out masks to those who aren’t wearing them that have 100% compliance

The vaccine needs to be administered to about 70% of the population in order to get herd immunity. The Frum community was hard hit with Covid, back in March and many of them should have the antibodies in their system and therefor not need the vaccine. You may say blood test have shown that the antibodies are gone a few months after recovery because the body no longer needs them. and so you can get reinfected. The body knows how to generate these antibodies to fight it so in theory even without the vaccine the second infection should be milder.
Until covid is cured the economy can’t come back and eventually there will be a famine. We just had an election and if you look at the map most of the blue states are on either coast and the center where most of the food is produced. If there is a civil war or if the farmers or truckers feel slighted and don’t bring food to the cities I don’t think we could survive.

What few of you realizeis that just as there is no evidence of voter fruad there is likewise no evidence that there wasn’t fruad.
The key problem now is can Biden and the Democrats govern?
    1) Will the Democtrats and Republicans unite to pass budgets or will there be government shutdowns.
    2) Can he solve the Covid-19 Pandemic and get American working again. After all Trump already gave him the vaccines and a plan how to distribute them effectively. Or will Trump be blamed for the failure tosolve these problems.
As to whether the Biden presidency is a dream come true or a nightmare only time will tell. In a little over a year the midterm elections will be upon us and the Republicans may win both houses of Congress.

A key problem facing the Demicrats is will they follow Trump’s plan in regards to the vaccines. According to his plan by May 70% of the US will be vaccinated, giving the US herd immunity allowing the US economy to reopen. Democrats may have a slower approach in administratingthese vaccines.

Another problem is gridlock and or government shutdown.

As far as prosecuting Trump, he already was impeached and there was no smoking gun why do you think these other charges will be substaniated. If Biden is successful Trump will fade away but if he is prosecuted he wil have free publicty.

The question is can the state mandate what you do with your body. If so then why can’t the state dictate whether someone gets pregnate or gets an abortion.

Key factors are, what happens after the states ratify the election results? Will Mitch McConnel and other high ranking Republicans attend Biden’s inauguaration? Will the Biden adminisration be able to use the covid-19 vaccines effectively to combat the pandemic? Will the Republicans control the Senate and will Biden have to fight for every appoinyment? Even if the Democrats win both senate seat runoff elections in Ga he still needs every democrats to vote party line which is not as easy as it seems.
The question is, can he govern. He needs to solve the pandemic, Trump already gave him the vaccine all he has to do is distribute it and get the economy back with everyone going back to work. He has a little over a year to accomplish this before the midterm election season starts and he loses both houses of Congress.

Biden will be sworn in in January and has until the midterm elections to solve the Covid pandemic and get the economy back on track otherwise the Democrats lose Congress.

Thereis no chance of Trump winning at this point. Will he concede or actively coperate with Biden is highly unlikely. After all the democrats have been spending the last 4 years trying to overturn the 2020 election. In 2 months Biden will take over and be responsible for distributing the Covid vacciness and get the economy back on track

The key problem is that although Trump has been vilified in the press and impeached in Congress for the last 4 years over 73 million still voted for him. The problem is that in the court of public opinion he hasn’t lost. It is doubtful Trump will never concede. Trump while not president will probably be blamed for all the failures.
Can Biden and the Democrats govern and win over some of these 73 million? Party unity is the key. If the Republican can win over a handful of Congressman they can rule both houses of Congress. Biden needs Senate approval for his cabinet and also needs his party’s Progressive’s and moderate’s approval which may pose a problem.

CTL It was not my intent to say Biden didn’t win the election and get more votes than Trump. I was merely pointing out that Trump got more votes than any previous presidential candidate including Obama & Clinton.

Prosecuting Trump after he leaves office either criminally or civilly will only backfire. Neither party has a mandate the Republicans have 50 member in the Senate with 2 seats scheduled for a runoff election in January. In the House almost 2 weeks after the election the Democrats have 219 with 15 seats un decided almost all of them Republican leaning. There is already infighting between the Progressives and the moderates. If Republicans can find a few Democrats that will work with them they can control the House of Representatives too.

Trump got almost 73 million votes more votes then anyother presidential candadate in the history of the country. If he wants to run in 2024 nobody is going to challange him in the Republican Party. Biden may have got lucky this time but if he doesn’t deliver on his promises, he is not going to get a second chance and Trump is a shoo-in

Biden didn’t win the presidency the NON Trump won. Even before Trump was sworn in the Democrats and the media were trying to get rid of him. Even members of his own party were actively campaigning against him and yet he got more votes than any prior president in the history of this country. His high disapproval rating plus Covid-19 deaths and the poor economy due to the shutdown were major factors in his loss.
The question should be can Biden govern. The Democrats lost the senate, the best they can hope for is a 50 50 split but that only if they win both of the Georgia seats which is highly unlikely In the House of Representatives as of now Democrats have 218 seats the bare minimum to control the House with 15 races undecided.
While Biden may have won the presidency it’s going to be very hard for him to get his legislation passed if he can’t control Congress.

Until Trump concedes or he uses up all his appeals he can still remain in office. In a standard eviction case the landlord goes to court to evict the tenant, which in this case is GSA who is siding with Trump. Getting him out will require a court order. The Democrats and the media for months have been talking about this, now they are going to be forced to do something about it. They can always impeach him but I doubt the Senate will approve.
It’s been a week since the election and yet control of the Senate and even the House of Representatives haven’t been declared. Getting qualified candidates maybe a problem if the transition team can’t even get office space and funding. Likewise, whose going to quit a high paying job when they are not assured Senate approval needed to get the job.

It’s been 3 days and we still don’t know who the president will be, nor which party controls both houses of Congress. Although it’s probably going to be the Republicans control the Senate while the democrats control the House of Representatives. This will result in gridlock and possible government shutdown in the middle of a pandemic which may result in the Democrats losing the hose in 2022.
If Biden wins there will be a rematch in 2024 as Trump will claim they stole the election. If Trump wins the Democrats will likewise claim they stole the election.

What I think is wanted is that people who have been tested and have the antibodies should be retested for Covid -19 using an address in the red zones thus reducing the Covid -19 positive rate below 3%. As far as I can tell there is no outreach to the frum community outside of some billboards in yiddush at a few bus shelters and some ads in the free papers there is any publicity. No testing sites, no community meetings or going door to door as was done for the census.
The test doesn’t cost anything, but likewise doesn’t prevent or cure covid. The only thing it may due is reduce the positive rate but becuase the current rate is 3% you need 100s of people to be positive to reduce it.

Once the court opens he must appear before a judge and the charges presented, he will probably get bail although bail was supposedly abolished.

Cancelling rent and paying off the landlords is just crazy. Just look at the NYC Housing Authority which has been around since the 1934 and is the biggest slumlord in the city. Some of the tenants even came out for Trump at the Republican Convention for his help in improving living conditions there.

AS far as building Affordable Housing which is now required if you want tax abatement. This means that the builder has to set a side a per centage of apartments to be rented at affordable rates which sounds good. The problem is that most of them go for over $2,000.00 a month for a studio while the average income is $30,000.00 per year, so most people can qualify for them.

A big problem with Teleworking is that just like the employee can live anywhere so too can the employer hire people from third world countries at a fraction of the cost. Who knows how long the job will last.

Many wealthy people choose to live in NYC for the nigtlife with the closing of restruants, theaters and night clubs NYC loses its appeal,

Postponing evictions will only create further problems. Many tenants owe 6 months rents and there is no way the tenants will be able to pay this debt back. Landlords will not be able to maintain thier buildings and of course will not be able to pay thier real estate taxes or thier mortgages. Real estate taxes are a major revenue source for the city which will result in future cuts of services. This will also have a major impact on the nations economy and banking system.

Everyone should be tested for Covid -19 both to see if they have it and to see if they have the antibodies. Here in NY these tests are free even if you don’t have insurance. There are 2 types of tests one a nasal swab tests if you have Covid now, while the blood test tells if you have the antibodies. Everyone should get both tests. If you have the antibodies you already had it and have recovered and don’t even know it. The chances of you catching it a second time are greatly reduced and you can go to shul, but there is still a chance that you can catch it again.
Everyone should wear a mask covering their mouth and nose in public to reduce transmitting this disease. Masks are uncomfortable and fog up your glasses which is why in certain areas hardly anyone is wearing them now. Also because the mask doesn’t protect the wearer they feel why wear it. I ride the subway and see people not wearing masks or wearing them but not over their nose and or mouth .even though wearing a mask is required in order to ride the subway.

The point I am trying to make is that having the antibodies makes you ummune from that strain of the virus. It is possible to catch a different strain of the virus. This is the same as the flu where you can take a vaccine for one strand but catch a different strand. Atleast I understand the antivaxxers as they claim the vaccines are harmful Ttaking an antibody test cost you nothing,. There will be masks and social distancing sio you wouldn’t catch the disease at the lab so what do you have to lose. There is no harm unless you consider the knowledge that you maybe immune harmful.

As far as New York being a Police State you can always move. As far as your friend in BP I finded it very strange as a few years ago an elderly man pulled over inorder to talk on his phone and a cop tried to arrest him and there was a full scale riot. Also you can disobey the police when it’s illegal. What he should have done was get out of the car and let the cop move the car. This probably was a case which was plea bargained down. This is a very sketch case where you there? Was a civilian compliant made against the officer? I am not a lawyer but the benifit of the doubt goes to the defendent who in this case is a police officer so the burden of proof is on you to prove that F~loyd wasn’t resisting arrest.

It doesn’t hurt to take an antibody test so that you will know.. If you stayed inside and had no contact with anyone you probably don’t have the antibodies. As far as blocking off every other seat you would need to block off about 75 percent of the seats in order to maintain social distancing. A 5:30 minyan is not an option as many wouldn’t get up that early. Remember people are paying for these seats A small private minyan less than 50 people is preferred as opposed to a large shul minyan and avoid talking to others in the aisle, lobby and courtyard of the shul as these are areas where it’s more likely to catch the disease
