2scentsParticipant
Elaborate, you mean to say washing laundry, cooking and claening up?
This sounds like a nightmare!
2scentsParticipantdepends on the weather/mood/situation.
2scentsParticipantI think that the logic behind fake/realy jewerly is this.
If the gift is a token of appreciation then the content of the gift is not so important (I am not dismissing the fact that the nicer the gift, the bigger the token)
However if the gift is for an engagement or for a relationship, then the gift has to be real, since it is the content that matters.
I know people that order fake jewerly similiar to their real ones, so they can leave the real ones in the safe, and carry the replicated ones..
2scentsParticipantI think that it is not right to comment on any individual, since no one knows what transpired in their life.
However I do live in a neighborhood which has a few couples, Some that I actually grew up with.
Some do it out of ignorance, I pitty them.
Others do it to rebel, I pitty them as well.
The way I see it, is that they are throwing away a life of innocents, tranquility and happiness, to a life of of emptiness. A life that is built on trust to a holywood lifestyle which lacks it.
2scentsParticipantExplain, for Men? for Women? both together?
2scentsParticipantIf you are concerned that you will get addidcted, you have a very valid concern.
I never owned an iPhone, however I had a BB and Android.
The BB was a great business tool (which is really what i needed in addition to the calling capabilities).
After reading some ‘great’ reviews on the Android, I purchased one.
I hated it, as it is a great toy, with a browser on the go. however it really lacked a robust email structure, like BB has.
Currently, to avoid I have an Ipad, with a regular phone. like this, I avoid the addiction, as I dont carry the iPad on my belt.
however I have instant access to a browser and my emails (there is almost no start up time on the iPad).
2scentsParticipantA Gerer might be a member of the Kehila, however does this mean that he is obligated to follow all the minhagim, only because he is a memeber?
what makes one a memeber? paying membership?
2scentsParticipantsorry to mess up the conversation.
however I hate it (no, I dont cringe..) when someon sends a text message personnaly wishing/inviting everyone.
There is nothing less personal thatn that!
2scentsParticipantfatty chicken?
whats that?!
March 18, 2012 2:40 am at 2:40 am in reply to: Strategies for When Getting Pulled Over by a Cop #8610892scentsParticipantwhats wrong with this questions?
keep in mind, never admit anything.
I was one speeding on the freeway (if you call dricing 70 MPH on an empty 8 lane freeway speeding..) state trooper stopped me.
asks if there is any reason for my speeding, to which I replied that I am very sorry (silly, sorry for what?!) and i dont have any reason.
i tried to explain, that since we were going downhill, it could bet that I did not realize that I was speeding.
he smiled, retreated to his car, returned a few minuted later with a ticket.. smilingly he handed it to me, told me to drive safely.
I checked the ticket, on the back it stated. that I admited that I was speeding.
.. it defenatly gave the lawyer an excuse to charge more!
March 18, 2012 2:32 am at 2:32 am in reply to: Going To / Coming Home From Motzei Shabbos Maariv #8624632scentsParticipantI think that it is stated that from Mincha, you should not greet anyone gut shabbos
2scentsParticipantIn case your offended, I am sorry. I really don’t care if all you wrote is true or not.
2scentsParticipantWhat defines a kehila?
2scentsParticipantGer may have strong chumras.
However I know some Gerer that by no chance do they keep these chumras, from their doing the contrary is true.
Its a chassidus, a chasid is more like a club member, doesnt necessary mean that the person in question will accept on himself any of these rules.
2scentsParticipantthe Internet as a whole?
each part was invented (discovered) by a different party.
March 16, 2012 4:49 pm at 4:49 pm in reply to: Strategies for When Getting Pulled Over by a Cop #8610812scentsParticipantWhat I do, as soon as the cop starts telling me what I did wrong. (or asking me if I know what I did, to which I of course I answer No!)
I make it as if I am getting a lecture, I ask all sort of questions like, wow, I always thought that it was permitted to turn on red if I am in the intersection.. (just make sure not to admit the violation)
I got pulled twice, Once it helped (just had to listen to a lengthy driving course. the other time the trooper smiled and said here you go and there was the ticket..
2scentsParticipantSo what you are saying is that you put a temporary stop to this daydreaming?
2scentsParticipantny100k,
thanks for clearing that up.
I really appreciate it.
2scentsParticipantI know that. However in this case Verizon, the provider didn’t go down rather it was a technician that messed up. They should have the ability to forward the number like you can forward a cell phone.
Besides, you have the ability to set it up, so that when the line is down, it automatically ‘jumps’ to a different number, it gets forwarded on its own.
As I mentioned. Most call centers have hosted PBX, VoIP and regular pot lines (we have service from more than one company) as a safety net. Hatzolo should do the same.
2scentsParticipantThey sure can.
A. If you host them.
B. if you set up that each time the line is down, it automatically jumps to a different line.
2scentsParticipantI dont get it. Hatzola should be a bit more sophisticated than that!
When the lines in my business went down. i had full control. as we have POT lines, VIOP and hosted PBX. it takes a few seconds to switch it.
March 1, 2012 8:10 pm at 8:10 pm in reply to: Problem Being Unable to Consume Much Alcohol – And Can't Get Drunk #8663492scentsParticipantJust make sure that you and people you know (especially if you have anyone that will listen to you) drinks in moderation, or at least with some selfcontrol.
Drinking to much is a serious matter, we (we as in the community) have had more than enough stories
2scentsParticipantI dont know your situation, however since you are asking for advice, I will give you whatever I have.
I would recommend that you take a short break, even for just two days.
In these two days, do not think about anything, just relax learn and read.
Once the short Rest comes to its end, sit down and write up a plan.
Of course this means that you have to calculate all of your expenses.
Again, I am no professional, just a plain person giving plain advice.
2scentsParticipantIs this for routine checkups. or is this regarding high risk?
2scentsParticipantAfter reading some of these posts I can’t stop wondering why this thread is still un-closed.
After all some of the posters are commenting things which are Kefira, at least in the eyes of the yeshivish world.
And yes, I studied advanced A&P.
2scentsParticipantBears have seizures?
2scentsParticipantWhat’s the issue?
Is it that your missing out on the goodies, or that your concerned about lacking the necessary nutrients.
I am severely allergic to milk (anaphylaxis), I have never eatin a dairy meal. I don’t feel deprived.
I do carry an epipen with me all the time. (my rav told me to carry it on shabbos even if there is no Eruv).
There are other foods that are rich in calcium.
2scentsParticipantdoctors orders..
2scentsParticipantUsually repetitive seizures are an indicator that something might not be right.
2scentsParticipantdo you have an air purifier?
I will not question your doctor, however when I was a child, I did had bad allergic reactions, my doctor told my parents to get rid of the carpet in my bedroom.
It made a huge difference.
He also said that I should not sleep with down blankets.
I went for about two years on weekly allergy shots. I dont know if they really help or not, however I rarely get a reaction.
remember its the Allergen that you want to avoid.
2scentsParticipantFirst, figure out the CAUSE to your allergies!
For instance, you mentioned that you are allergic to mites and dust.
does your bedroom have carpet?
Is your mattress old?
do you have mold in your house?
I am no doc. however I did suffer from everything you mentioned.
Same thing is with Asthma.
Asthma is a chronic condition, however you can control it.
you must figure out what is causing the attacks.
(Sometimes shedding a few pounds helps to)
B”H my allergies and asthma are fully in control.
Every situation is unique, however in my opinion, first try to figure out what is causing the reaction.
2scentsParticipantC_A_D well said.
People should know better than to believe everything they read online.
I am who I am, and know what I know, (do I have to prove that?) I have seen countless things online which are false or not accurate.
Thanks for reminding us about this.
2scentsParticipantI liked this line.
“and right now i am learning which posters to answer and which to ignore.”
Does the fact that there are doctors with mean attitudes scare you?
2scentsParticipantwhat kind of info would you like?
most info is available on the web.
Basically seizures itself can be harmful when it is for an extended time, status epilepticus, which can cause some damage. ALS care is needed to stop the seizure.
then there are the tonic clonic (Grand Mal) Seizures. and the Myoclonic ones.
In general Seizures are not so significant unless they occur more than once.
This is from my memory, I am no Doctor.
2scentsParticipantHealth,
Why in the world are you taking someones comments seriously?
I dont know if you are for real or not. neither do I care. (the same could and should be said about me)
But I cannot figure out why you get so all worked up when someone posts something against you.
Just move on!
2scentsParticipantOk, at least your having a good time!
2scentsParticipantin this day and age who needs phones?
I only communicate via Email.
2scentsParticipantCAD,
what is there to chuckle about?
2scentsParticipantHealth.
Care is the right word.
I have seen lots of nurses that simply don’t care. And some that do. The difference is huge.
The same goes with first responders. Those that deliver excellent patient care, and those that make the patient feel miserable.
2scentsParticipantI dont think you understood what I wrote.
Door knob assesment is sort of the general assesment (or initial assesment).
We are also required to take a full set of vitals from each patient (vitals are vital..).
However when you enter the patients room, you should be able to know within the first seconds if this is a sick patient or not. Before you interview or take vitals.
It’s not. Text book thing. Store iit in your mind for after you graduate.
2scentsParticipantI read it in one of my cardiology books, I told it to a medic, he told me that it’s called that way.
That proff. Claimed that it shouldn’t take you more tha six seconds to know off hand if this patient is sick or not.
And that it takes her students four to six weeks to master this.
2scentsParticipantGood for you.
2scentsParticipantPBA,
I happen to be from NY. I cannot get why in the world you feel any bit superior than anyone else!
2scentsParticipantPBA
Why are you trying so hard to insult them?
Cant you find better ways to stimulate this forum?
2scentsParticipantis Blood money an Aveira?
dont get me wrong. I understand that it is wrong. but an aveira or just hashkafa?
2scentsParticipantWho knows. . maybe those few times when PBA was decent, were when he was taking those ten pills..
2scentsParticipantNext time dont be cheap, and stay at a better place!
2scentsParticipantPBA,
whats the waste?
2scentsParticipantI feel for you.
I will take out a tehilim right now and say some Lezchus Yehuda Tzvi Ben Elisheva.
With Hashems help, you should be zoche to have a long happy and healthy life!
I will stop short of giving you any advice.
Refua Sheleima!
2scentsParticipantDoes anyone know why his talk show on ABC went off the air?
Not that I am interested in his shows. I Cringed when he said some stuff. I am just curious.
Thanks
