So it depends on the degree of the sun which is different for every location and time of day. There is a way to calculate it but not very practical.

The problem of striping the bed is that the room looks bad until the hosts gets a chance to do laundry which can be middle of the week.

I think its better to do the bed in a neat way but maybe not exactly the way it was to show which bed you’ve used.

    aries2756,

I agree with your post and im sure we as a community can and should come up with many more such steps to prevent abuse.

From our point of view we have a choice but from Hashem’s point of view we dont.

Example: You are about to do something and then all of a sudden (based on your previous experience or learning or emotions) you realize that you shouldn’t be doing it and you stop yourself.

It took you time to come up with that decision not to do it. So you feel like you made a choice.

But for Hashem it was instant at the very beginning when you got the original idea to do it Hashem already knew how you’ll feel about it and what memories it will trigger and based on that you wont end up doing this action.

    soliek,

What are you talking about? I also agree that someone who abuses should go to jail but i was talking about someone who is innocent and happens to be accused.

Read the article in Forward and notice that the big papers will not write about false accusations but they all wrote a story when that Rabbi was accused.

Why should we err on the side of the children? As long as the person is removed from children why should we risk putting innocent person in jail and ruining his family? Is it fair to his children?

I understand that if there is enough evidence people should go to the police im not against that but make sure to get enough evidence first.

Also, for some reason Jewish community feels it needs to force the person in jail at all costs. There are many cases where the Jewish Community or our activists made a big deal if someone got a plea bargain or low sentence so now the DA makes sure to over judge every case.

It’s pure discrimination but the worst part is that it was brought on by our own activists!

Anyone who read this article in Forward should also mention about false allegations and people being paid off to testify falsely and police encouraging such things.

I’ve noticed it also and i think there is something to it. In my opinion people are more likely to approach someone who looks open minded and non threatening.

It could be simple things like not crossing your hands together… i cant think of any more such signs right now.

    From my research…

Eilat – Neptune, holiday inn (the one adjacent to the airport), i think also blue lagoon. They used to be mehadrin but i would suggest to verify before going. And i never stayed there for shabbos.

Dead Sea – doesnt have any mehadrin hotels but in some of them you can pre-order mehadrin meals and they’ll just warm it up for you double wrapped.

    lolkatz,

Can you point me to the exact post where AYC was prying personal information?

Also, please point me to the gun that he was holding over people while asking his questions.

Coffee room has a rule about giving out personal identifiable information that doesn’t mean someone cant ask. I didnt see AYC asking for such info but if he did that means the Mods are fine with it since they check all our posts.

Ice… is making a good point if mods allowed ayc post to go through then it can’t be so bad. And if anything the Mod who allowed it should be responsible for it since mods are supposed to know better.

But again I don’t see anything wrong with that post. If I claim to be

Obama and tell you to unblock Joseph will you listen to me?

Everyone has a choice what info we believe from anonymous posts and what not to believe.

I still don’t see what personal info ayc tried to get out of us? Is manipulation without a purpose forbidden here?

    Jothar,

Evidence of suspicious account would be if you would find a post where AYC asked others for personal information not volunteered his own last name.

Just make sure to verify that its a real situation and not someone making up a story just to get at someone.

Everyone here is ready to call authorities as soon as they hear any rumors. But keep in mind that some of the cases you read on the news about turn out to be false accusations.

    Few points…

1)Something has to be done to improve this “crisis”.

2)No one wants to invest so much money especially with an organization they don’t trust.

What if each girl would give this money to her local Shul to hold in escrow? I know this isn’t a perfect solution but I’m just opening the door for others to come up with a better plan.

Im using GE with shabbath mode and its mainly created for yom tov. You can also use it for friday night with a timer going off before you ready to take the food out.

But you must run it few times on a weekday to make sure you understand how it will work and get used to it.

Star-k even allows change temperature of the electronic over on yom tov but i think most other Rabbis dont. So make sure to ask your rabbi about it also.
