Whats the chiddush? I’m sure many people remember the Germorah that basically says: “Someone who has… a lot of money and wants to lose them… should hire workers without supervising them.” Bava Metzia 29b

Yes the averos count, thats part of the risk of coming back here. He may even end up worse than before ch”v. But i think nowadays people are more aware of such things and usually end up better. And i think the only way the גיהנם will be a shorter stay is if he suffers here.

    Menachem Shmei,
Thank you for addressing my questions, i appreciate and im still trying to understand the issue here. Q1, So if Yaakov is alive, even though we cant understand in what way, how does it help the discussion here about Chabad? Q2, Where does Chabad get the idea LR can be alive? Q3, What source do they have that its even possible in our days? Q4, What source is there for LR specifically?

Ok lets go with the Rashi pshat and say that Yaakov lo meis. Q1, what does it mean, how is it different from being dead? Q2, who is authority enough to say that if Yaakov aveinu can get to lo meis status then we can say the same about the LR? (how do you compare them? what is the source to have such a comparison?)

You forgot to mention the car with bomb near his rally, at 2 of his rallies people got sick (which were probably chemical/radiowave attacks). The good thing is all those cats that he saved in OH gave him an honorary 9 lives, so he is strong as ever and nothing will stop him from finishing his job.

I saw their ads and I also almost gave them the money. They also told me since my credit score is below 700 that it will take extra I think 2 months to fix it and then I would be able to get those loans. I knew that 2 months to get my score to be over 700 is not possible and that’s why I declined their offer.
Now I will tell others to stop advertising them. It’s disgusting that they think they can cheat and still be able to advertise to the US.

You said by pikodon a person is given back the same type of item that he left even if it isn’t identical but close enough.
This pot doesn’t have anything recognizable that resembles the dog food meat so you would need to buy new pound of treif meat for the dog.

I heard from Hatzolah guys that if they take insurance then they have to provide care to everyone who calls them. And no matter what day of the week. And 911 may dispatch calls to their buses if they are closest to take the call.
So it becomes a whole different company.
My only solution to this was to have 2 companies and depends on the situation that’s the one that responds but it can get tricky and we still need city to respect Hatzolah amd help it out.

For some reason most people don’t wash their hands before eating fruits which were washed.
For some reason people don’t bench with a Kos during the week.
Most litvaks don’t avoid making kiddush from 6pm to 7pm.

I had more such examples but can’t recall them now.

The bottom line is they can not Ban guns but they can and should make it much MUCH more difficult to buy one. Also only the most simple guns should be available for sale. Anyone who owns a more advanced gun can keep it but need to re-certify for it every year and pass a mental/psychological tests in addition to showing capability to use it safely and accurately (ie. someone who is going blind doesnt need an automatic gun…).

Why does it need to be certified? Just like any used phone you buy you should be aware that some parts will break faster than if it was a new phone. I was fine with it and I’ll happily replace my phone every 2-3 years to the newest pre-owned model.

There are ready made oil cups sold in small plastic cups and if the wick bends to the side the cup will melt away.

    @joseph
I don’t know what’s plastic glass maybe a mixture but if it burns i call it plastic. Glass shouldn’t burn but may crack when it gets hot so may be dangerous as well.

There are some people who are smart about fires and think they can estimate the worst case scenario. But unfortunately most people aren’t that good and most people wouldn’t read these suggestions or follow them. Can we come up with fireproof plan b. How can we help people to make sure that they are doing it right?

It’s easy to say don’t leave fire unattended but I bet 90% of people don’t follow it.

Was the family using ready made lights in plastic cups?
Maybe those should be banned? But what about other cases?

Maybe we should just create an organization that would review light places, trays, smoke alarms and fire escape plans.

    @joseph,
Using them is easy but the difficult part is making sure that everyone uses them correctly. Also, most peoples windowsill wont be able to fit a normal size tray. Moreover, many peoples candlesticks are taller than the circumference of the standard tray so if they fall the tray may not help.

When you go to google.com from israel it will automatically send you to google.co.il based on the location of your IP.
Its called Geo IP targetting and its very simple to set up. Also the site can be set to automatically show content in the language your browser is set to accept. So dont worry about technical details.
Also, Hashem.com is owned by a very generous person and im sure he would give up the domain to moshiach.

@Gadolhadorah – R’ Ahron did worry about the compressor going on and i think some people in lakewood either wait for compressor to be on or have the fridge on a timer to be completely off around the meals times.
Nothing personal but here is how i understand it…
The difference with compressor and going into BM is that if you time your fridge compressor during the week you will learn a pattern and exactly how many seconds it takes for it to go on. So just because you are lazy and dont count those seconds on shabbos doesnt mean that there is no psik reisha at a certain time.
If i stand next to your fridge and i count out the seconds and i tell you if you open the door now even for 1 second the compressor will go on, would you still open it? So is lack of knowledge a valid excuse?

    Washing hands…

Next time you wash consider the side of your hand that’s along your pinky finger. Most people dont even attempt to put water there but assume that enough water will flow there from the other parts of the hand.

I think the only way to get all the parts is to spin/twist your hand while the water is flowing out of your cup.

    You asked for it…

    1) All Yeshivah’s to teach practical mussar and to encourage students to discuss baal teshuvah type of questions why/when/how…etc.

    2) All kollel/beis medrash programs to teach practical business halachos.

    3) All kollel/beis medrash programs to give a stipends based on weekly test scores.

    4) Decree for all the boys and girls to start shidduch dating at the same age. Don’t have to force the people just tell the organizations to encourage it.

    5) Create many type of job courses (separate men/ladies hours) and without prerequisites. Also, it should be free to attend but only have to pay for it after you find a job.

    6) Free gym with free trainers and free diet counselors for anyone who wants to attend it but you would have to pay for it if you slack off. (With monthly contracts not life contracts.)

    7) Create and uphold Takonos for Simchas and maybe also for apparel / sheitals / cars / carriages…etc.

    8) Free Netspark type of internet filter for your mobile and home that is paid by replacing goish internet ads with yiddish ones. Every Kehilla will have its own standards levels but to be part of a Kehilla you would need to install a filter with at least their level or higher. Anyone can type in anyone elses phone number or address and check if their filter is still active.

    9) Anyone who is poor will be provided for from a communal Maiser fund. No need to go shul to shul, door to door. And this way people might give more Maiser towards this fund since there will be less chances of fraud.

    10) Declare BP and Flatbush as a separate and independent city and create a real Eruv there 🙂

Once we get a hold of data showing what percentage of couples in our community marry someone their age, what % marry older by 1yr, what % by 2 yrs and so on then we can get a better idea about the age gap.

So i was thinking maybe we can ask for this info from onlysimchas. Or we can simply crawl their site for this data.

“Why should Hashem’s will have any intrinsic value?”

Because Hashem is Perfect, HE is just, HE is generous and HE knows what’s best for us. So by definition everything he tell us to do has to be beneficial for us and for HIM.

We have to realize that we are ONE with Hashem so the mitzvahs aren’t just for HIS benefit it’s for ours as well.

Doing mitzvah is beneficial for us (sachar) in this world even if the reward (pras) will only come to us in the next world.

Remember when your parents told you to always brush your teeth?

Of course your mouth may smell better, and your teeth may stay healthier for more years… However, you may not realize those things in short term. What you do realize and feel good about is that you are being obedient and making your parents happy. And you know that your parents told you to do it for your own good and that’s why you keep doing it.

Besides for the Age Gap problem we need to look at something that we (each one of us here) CAN change…

Chasiddishe boys sometimes get married after they turned 23 and they may even marry a girl who is 19 but it doesnt destroy their system because…

1)Chasiddishe boys are taught to respect and like all types of Chasiddishe girls

2)Chasiddishe girls are taught to respect and like all types of Chasiddishe boys

(Too skinny, too fat, too old, too young, too ugly, too poor, too many health issues, too many problems with parents, too much into working instead of learning…etc.)
