2ND OPPINIONParticipantThat’s the halacha. As far as being disgusted, didn’t Rivka Imeinu wear a nose band? That would be cartilage piercing.
2ND OPPINIONParticipantoomis- an eved’s ear is pierced in the cartilage part, not the lobe, which is just skin.
2ND OPPINIONParticipantI heard an explanation on that chazal- although tzadikim want to do a lot, they can’t be sure that they will physically be able to accomplish as much as they’d like. They say the minimum because their words are precious to them and they don’t want to go back on what they said. So they start with the min and end up doing the max.
Talking about ahavas yisroel and things like that is different, because it’s not a specific action. When we discuss it, it stays at the forefront of our mind and then we end up bit by bit accomplishing a lot until it becomes second nature.

2ND OPPINIONParticipant…like a tricycle without handles zooming downhill and a rainbow ice pop and then it hits a big rock and goes flying and land somewhere a few miles away and keeps going…
2ND OPPINIONParticipantReborn so many times…
2ND OPPINIONParticipantLF- assuming that ry23 meant what he said, and that my theory is correct, then yes. But then again, if he didn’t mean it and it’s not correct, then you probably meant it anyway.
2ND OPPINIONParticipantNot that I don’t appreciate tremendously what he did for me. I mean, I would NEVER lend ME my car even for a day. I’m fixing it anyway. But I’m still curious what the halacha would be.
2ND OPPINIONParticipantI think when people say what they really mean, other people respond the same way. I mean, there are exceptions- LF, did you mean that?
2ND OPPINIONParticipantWOW. BUSY GUY. How does he find the time?
2ND OPPINIONParticipantPeek at birkat cohanim. I’m soooo curious…
2ND OPPINIONParticipantWhat if you have more than two voices? Like three or four…
2ND OPPINIONParticipant“save water, drink wine”.
2ND OPPINIONParticipantHaving two screen names is not in itself schizophrenic, but is probably a cause for it. There are constant voices going- “Now I’m me. Now I’m the other me that is completely different from the first me”. Its also confusing probably.
2ND OPPINIONParticipantim not here. anyone else not here?
2ND OPPINIONParticipantHow do you know? And besides, if i was quoting someone, then it probobly was not you, which would make it completely irrelevant if we are related or not.
2ND OPPINIONParticipantTo quote someone famous,”Normal is relative; we’re not related.”
2ND OPPINIONParticipantIs there anything wrong with admitting that Hashem guided the christians to separate perakim in a way that brings out a point to anyone who wants to find a cute remez? KZ was just reminding us of Hashgocha Pratis in every area
2ND OPPINIONParticipantCan someone explain with clarity and brevity exactly what the problem is with zionism?
