“Boys do more in every possible way besides the kitchen! period”
– umm…what would you do without food?!
Girls do and direct everything and often the boys are asked to help out in the physically harder things.
just admit it.
April 9, 2012 3:47 am at 3:47 am in reply to: Should Oldest Son Inherit a Rov / Rebbe's Position? #8665272facerParticipanthopefully the child that knows he is destined to be the next Rebbe will be raised with a sense of responsibility, like in a dynasty. however there have been times when the eldest son was not suitable for whatever reason and a different son took over, its really that simple (hopefully).
2facerParticipantsomething that a dog will eat. meaning that a food item that is very spoiled is not roeh laachilas kelev and is therefor not chometz. this only applies to once edible food.
April 6, 2012 3:17 am at 3:17 am in reply to: The Longest Seder ContestHow Late Will Your Seder End? #11995722facerParticipanti read somewhere that a certain Rebbe likes to act out the story of yetzias metzrayim and so many bochurim volunteer to sift throught tons of sand the entire night before the seder to check for any chametz in the sand before they spread it over the shul floor. crazy or what?!

2facerParticipantZeeskite- i agree with you entirely. i believe it is a day of kedusha for the chosson and Kallah and some of the dancing and music can be a little rocky but there are 2 reasons for this kind of dancing (depending on the people).
1- they want to dance in a goyish way
2- they got carried away in all the excitement
both reasons are valid and yet i think everyone should be aware of what they want to do and if they dont want to dance like that then they should be careful with themselves, thats all.
plus the GOQ is right, if you are one that does not want that by your wedding, just make sure to read over the list of songs your band wants to play and make sure theyre not too rocky. The kind of music played by a wedding can make all the difference.
2facerParticipantnot making fun and plus just because i dont post doesnt mean im not part of the club like i said i read alot of them all the time

Chassidish get married at 19 boy, 18 girl

2facerParticipantk so i didnt read the whole thread so im not sure if anyone posted this joke yet or not but i guess its worth the laughs.
a mother of twin boys was having a hard time disciplining them. those two were always doing trouble. one day, she was so fed up she decided to take them to a priest to give them a good lecture. the priest requested to see the boys one at a time.
the older twin went first. the priest sat him down, stared him straight in the eye and asked,
“son, where is god?”
the boys face froze in fear
the priest asked again, “where is god?”
the boy just stared.
the priest was fed up and yelled “WHERE IS GOD?!”
The boy got up and ran all the way home. when his twin brother came over to him he said:
“Brother were in big trouble this time……
GOD IS MISSING AND THEY THINK WE DID IT!!!!”
(I just love that last line)
2facerParticipant613blue: you can always try and publisha a book. or if thats too drastic you can try and submit it into some magazine that will publish it if its rlly good. theres also these poetry contests that you can sign up for, im not sure how it works though. but yentingyenta is right, its more for just expressing emotion and maybe one day when you die someone will discover it and Publish it and youll be famous. thats what happened to a bunch of these famous writers.
2facerParticipantKido: if you want really well written books with a non-jewish style try my favorite author; Etka Gittel Schwartz. shes really the best by far and very liberal. she wrote ‘shortchanged’ and shes writing the ‘full harvest’ serial in the binah magazine. its aweswome!
2facerParticipanthey im new here so heres one of mine and let me knw what u think.
life is the thing in wrappings
thts handed to each soul
and does the work without the pay
and never stops at all
most precious in the world it is
yet some percieve it sore
its those who cant unwrap the gift
no matter what its form
ive heard of those ungratefull ones
and i just cant believe
cause never in extremity
it asked a breath of me
