the Chazon Ish said tachanun He also was exceedingly adamant that every eligible voter must vote at Israeli Elections, unlike some other influence-rs.

I will resume Tachanun after Yom ha’Atzmaut, and re-suspend Tachanun come Yom Yerusholayim. But just for the record:- Both Tachanun & Hallel come from the very same book of Tehillim, 1 being Chapter 6, and the other being chapters 113-118.

On this day of Yom ha’Atzmaut I wish you Luna Longwood Hatzlocho in coming up with this song prior to Yom Yerusholayim, and I really would love to find out about this song. It would lend so much meaning to this Yom ha’Atzmaut and to upcoming Yom Yerusholayim IY’H.

I’m glad you are encouraging people to make aliyah! Yay! B’H making Aliya is such a true reality, because B’H we were blessed with the wonderful Matono of Medinat Yisrael 67 years ago. Yom ha’Atzmaut Sameach to each & every single Yehudi. Already just surpassed 2/3 century.

The bottom line is:- If you were Mechabed Chol haMoed appropriately, you are off the hook for BeHaB; If Chas veSholom you were Mezlzel Chol haMoed you better repent seriously on BeHaB since Mishno in Pirkei Ovos states clearly:- Kol hweMevazeh Es haMo’ados>> Ein Lo Chelek leOlom haBo, which all the Meforshim explain to be talking about Chol haMoed.

Clearly BeHaB is primarily about Chol haMoed, as non existent after Shovu’os.

On YWN there is an article of a Beth Din in Israel which refused to dispense a Get today because they wouldn’t perform a Get on Rosh Chodesh, even though this woman has been chained for 4 years, and today husband was prepared to dispense Get.

Furthermore, over the years I have been an Eid at Gittin several times including on Rosh Chodesh.

You still should don sackcloth on that yom ha’atzmut. You “Kofui Tov” ungrateful fellow Joseph:- We must extol the wonderful Nissim the Ribbono She Olom blessed us with the Medinas Yisroel, welcoming all Jews with open arms. Instead of sackcloth, I shall be donning my blue suit & white shirt and matching Israeli flag cufflinks & necktie, and be reciting Hallel bSimcho Rabbo.

I shall hold off with my sackcloth until Sunday Ov 10th, unless Moschich IY’H shows up prior to then.

Meanwhile we shall be making Eruv Tavshilin on Nisson 20th, 4 out of 5 years running, even in Israel.

This week we conclude the Nach Yomi program @5 Pesukim daily, which we commenced On Sukkos 2005, and here we are 9&1/2 years later about to be Mesayem Nach on Iyyor 3rd, and commence next cycle of Nach Yomi on Yom ha’Atzmaut Mukdom this Thursday, so great time to jump on bandwagon, and IY’H cover entire Nach by late 2024.

“The time of sunset is defined in astronomy as the moment when the trailing edge of the Sun’s disk disappears below the horizon.” This is how Wikipedia defines sunset, so this is the only time of sunset, and any later time when sun rays disappear from horizon, is end of Dusk, but not sunset as explained by wikipedia:- “Sunset is distinct from dusk, which is the time at which the sky becomes completely dark,”

So long as it is on different days (as opposed to the same day) is akin to Availus in Omer, that 1 year one can observe 1st 33 days, and next year observe last 33 days, or vice versea, all this so long as it is on a different year.

Needless to say, a man being Ogun = chained away from his children can surely lead to ill health for men.

most will agree that the Bracha can be recited even after Nisan like we Australian Jews, who do not recite Berocho until some 6 months after Nisson, during Tishri. In fact we often utilize this Berocho as an opportunity to gain 1 extra Mitzwah during the Asseres Yemei Yeshuvo.

So how about helping the parties broker a coalition based on realistic demands? so that the religious parties end up being in the coalition. They simply can’t also receive all the portfolios they are demanding. Just think back to Solomon in Haftorat Mikketz who also couldn’t divide the baby in 2 – Likewise these portfolios are indivisible, and these politicians all have to grow up soonest, so that they can get to work and overturn these harsh decrees still on the books.

in the end you should have touched base with your Rabbi, and followed his guidance.

He would have given you 1 of the 3 options that exist, but the one that is the right one for you:-

    1) Stay in Shul & recite Jizkor.

    2) Stay in Shul & don’t recite Jizkor.

    3) Leave the Shul & don’t recite Jizkor.

I don’t know what sfardim who make a mizonos on matzah during the year will do This issue was already addressed by Rav Ovadiah Yosef ZTKLLH’H”:- Answwer:- this scenario of Isru Chag Pesach on Shabbos is a unique situation, when the rational that Matzo is your only bread and hence rises from Mezonos to haMotzei during Pesach, is still in effect on this Shabbos Isru Chag, and does not revert back to being Mezonos until after this Shabbos Isru Chag Pesach.

I attended a Shiur by Rav Ovadiah Yosef ZTKLLH’H in person back in the 1980’s when he discussed this question amongst several others.

Why on earth do you add random bits of information Yekke2:- Because I was making it my business to try & steer this topic away from any resemblance of Hesped, to fulfill the Biblical obligation of “veSomachto beChagecho”.

Relating any facets of Rav Wosner by definition is a Hesped, & cannot be covered up by feigning loopholes.

Just like introducing a topic on Shabbos by saying “it ain’t Shabbos talk” and going on into say a business topic, cannot be covered up by feigning loopholes.

We are living in a weak generation where we always have to be soft and merciful etc., but this certainly has not been the way it would be in the pass, and is not ideal, but if we today conducted ourselves as in past generations, they simply would walk entirely off the Derech instead of being scared up by ethics.

Should I be surprised? they didn’t abolish Seder on Shabbos as Shofar & Arab Minim are abolished on Shabbos in case carried 4 Amos in Reshus hoRabbim, since I surmise there are people who carry their own Haggodo & wine to the Seder.
