There is a Halocho, that one should be better dressed on Yom Tov than Shabbos, as “Simcha” has stronger obligations than does “Oneg”. I assume this is what WIY is referring to.

Last time I was in Meah Shearim Geulah window shopping, I saw in the windows, a Challa cover saying “LichVod Shovu’os”. Sounds like an ideal gift for the older couple, who already have everything they need.

Meanwhile I observe this Halocho, by keeping a couple of fancier neckties for Yom Tov, than I wear on Shabbos.

11 months is for people who conducted their life with dignity, but had unfortunate mishaps here & there.

Someone who did not act within the fold, unfortunately can be there for ever & ever.

Systematically causing divorces to mushroom into huge battles is by definition someone not acting within the fold of a Ben Torah & religious individual.

When you finish 1 Massechto in Daf Yomi, take a break from Daf Yomi to reveiew the Massechto you just terminated. Seeing the Gemorro some 30-60 days later instead of 2711 days later will be very good to cirumventing forgetfullness.

Knowing even 1/4 of Shas even 1/2 resonably well, will work far more wonders for you than just tipping the ice berg of everything in 1 ear out the other ear.

Follow this advice, and continue enjoying your Zayis + 14 other fruit come Tuesday nite/Wednesday Hamisho Ossor b’Shevat.

    Hi Mr. Health:-

Please let me know who screwed you up?

Rest assured, everyone of them without a single exception, shall burn in Gehinom for ever & ever.

Anyone who in anyway whatsoever interferes with a father parenting his children, or in any way chains a man, even for 1 day, is a murderer, who is violating Jewish law, both marital law, and Dinei Torah laws, as well as abetting violation of 8th of 10 commandmants, as appears in this week’s Parsha.

Mr. Health:- You are not alone; We shall do everything to take class action against those bums who have fowled up the divorce system from how it should work & be operating.

I have a small # of children, and a picture of each one, on my desk at work. You should hear the comments I receive at work:- What a huge family I have! and how can I afford it?

Many people at my work place, have no children, and of those who do have offspring, most have only 1 child, and tell me quite openly, that they could never afford to have a 2nd child. Only very few have 2 children, but I am probably the only one with more than 2 children, eventhough, I have fewer children than most of my friends.

When I ask the people who don’t have children [mainly by choice], they tell me, that they need their freedom; When I ask them who shall take care of them in their old age, they say things like their nephew & niece, or they simply cannot worry about it now, and will deal with it, when they come of age.

As for my most controversial opinion:- Recitation of Tachnun on Yom ha’Atzmaut, and Yom Yerusholayim; Tachnun has no place in the liturgy of these 2 important holidays.

I went back to the states for a bar-mitzvah about a year and a half ago. The davening went from 9 to 12, and it was painful to sit through all the extra stuff. Mee shebayrachs that lasted 5 minutes apiece. A 30 minute drasha.

Is the day so short that being in shul an extra half hour, on Shabbos no less, will interfere with ones schedule?

I have news for you:- A Resounding Yes!! People who sit at these “never ending Minyanim” on Shabbos morning:- 1) Most of them end up eating before Shul, or if they don’t eat, then feeling so weak, and not eating before Chatzos when on EST; 2) Often will miss Zeman Krias Shema, and many people not aware to say Shema before going to Shul. 3) Most of them don’t end up eating Seudo Shelishis, not even a snack for Seudo Shelishis; Most of these shoules that go from 9-12, have a massive Kiddush afterwards, where people are so hungry that they stuff themselves, but since no Challah nor Matzo, so doesn’t count as a Shabbos meal, since cannot eat Seudo Shelishis before 2nd meal, and 2nd meal there is no way to fulfill it without bread.

Furthermore, the extra time is Mishebeirach’s & Chazzonus & maybe also many Hosafos, but not a slower Silent Amidoh nor a slower Pesukei d’Zimro. & most of them won’t remember the rabbi’s speech from an endless Shabbos morning.

B’H I attend an early Hashkomo, eat at a normal hour in the morning after davening with Motzi, and have Seudo Shelishis early afternoon, and am even able to have apetite for Melave Malka, and spend the morning with my Seforim & children, and everyone loves the arrangement we have.

As for weekdays:- If a man hasn’t arrived at least 5 minutes before commencement time, by definition, he has arrived late. Being on time, is defined as being ready with your Tallis & Tefillin on, so you can actually begin the Davening as soon as the Chazzan begins services. Preferably, if one has already recited Birkas haTorah & maybe also the 15 Berochos which the Chazzan then says aloud, then at least there is some chance of keeping up with the Chazzan.

Parents must be informed immediately of a pregnancy, and any delay is a Bitul Aseh of the 5th commandment.

Furthermore, everyone should have their parents’ Reshus & blessings, to call any time day or nite 24/6 as soon as the baby is born. Every parent & even grandparent will only be too happy to be awoken during the nite with such wonderful news, and once Reshus is sought, no issue of Gezel Sheino. What an awful thing to await the arrival of daylight to inform a parent, and not call inmmediately.

Firstly, even if you order a generic Kosher meal, it will probably arrive as a Kosher lePesach meal, and even continue to do so, for about a week after Pesach, till the airlines have liquidated all their Pesach supplies.

As to what you should bring with you:- Any Kosher lePesach food you like, as long as no liquids, for security. But you will probably end up not needing it, since it is almost certain the Kosher meal shall be Kosher lePesach.

My point is The Rosh Hayeshivos of all yeshivos have to get together and come out with a takana:- 1st Takono they have to enact is to encourage the boys to go out with girls of their age & older; Next Takono is about downsizing the extravegance & enormity of Chasunos & all Simchas in general.

Of-course being that some of these Takonos have been attempted at Agudah conventions, which themselves are the highest level of luxury & expense, such a Takono to downsize a Simcha is futile, because 1st:- Practice what you Preach.

But seeing how miserable such attempts have evolved in the past of making unified Takonos, they certainly are not about to make a unified Takono of not sending boys to Eretz Yisroel, especially in light of fact that:- 1) Aviro deYisroel Machkimo 2) Lakewood is not for everyone, especially most Americans who whilst steiging on their Gemoro cannot concurrently be steiging on breaking their heads understanding a Shiur in Yiddish.

stay in the freezer:- Please don’t ever utilize this expression; It is a horendous way to describe a human being, since unfortuinately, dead human bodies are placed into a freezer in many cases, so it is highly insensitive & derogetary of this Brooklyn Shadchan to talk such language, and has opened some very raw wounds.

Please compose a Tefila for the real “chained”, namely innocent children who are chained away from their fathers, and fathers who are not getting “parenting time” [a.k.a. visitation] which is their rightful lot.

Unfortunately for most Agunot, most of them only have themselves to blame, for having withheld “parenting time” from we wonderful fathers, who have so much to offer to our children, using innocent children to fuel hatred.

Every single case of an Agunah I ever came accross, the woman only had herself to blame for being an Agunah. HaShem in his infinite wisdom knew that some day in the future, there would be woman’s lib, where the courts only care about the women, and not about the men & their children, so haShem in his infinite compassion & wisdom decreeed the requirement of a Get so the innocent man would have some control on the fate of his innocent chained children.

The Torah calls a Get a “Sepher Keriesus” a cutting off book; Consequently it is a clear cut Halocho leMaaseh that there must be absolutely no left unfinished business to take care of, before dispensing a Sepher Keriessus, and whoever so tragically misguided you silentone just to give a Get and loose your place in the Driver’s Seat, is hereby declared defrocked, and will face a frightening Din v’Cheshbon for what he did to you, when he gets to the next world.

As for this world, get yourself a new lawyer who is competent, and meanwhile bombard this guy who screwed you up with this Get, until you get satisfaction; If need be, sue him as well.

But remember Silentone:- Your kids will come of age, and shall never forgive their mother for screwing your relationship with them.

Gingrich has a lot of awful baggage on his hands. Even though most voters have very short memories, but we simply cannot shrug off from our minds, how Gingrich had the Chutzpah to shut down the USA Government during November 1995. This is a terrible thing which Gingrich did, and he can never be forgiven for this cardinal travesity.

This is no way condones Obama for his rotten attitude & presidency, if he even is a US citizen by birth??

May I also bring to your attention a little known astronomical fact, that it takes approximately 7-9 minutes less to get dark around equinox time, than at solstice time. Hence even if 72 minutes was time it takes to get dark around June 21 & December 21, around March 21 {near Seder nite time} & September 21, it takes less than 72 minutes to get dark.

To answer your question mik5, we would need more information, the most pertanent being at which latitude you are residing? If you are as far North as Rabbeinu Tam & his contemporaries resided, then there may be some serious obligation to await 72 minutes. Assuming you live somewhat closer to the equator, and if you reside in the USA or/& Israel this is the case, clearly 72 minutes is way longer than the time it takes to get dark & have 3 stars emerge, therefore some fabricated Chumro cannot override any Chiyuv; This includes absolutely not keeping leather shoes on your feet past regular Zeman on Tischo b’Ov nite, not delaying Channukah candle lighting beyond 1/2 hour from real Zeman, not delaying Seder nite commencement when kids may fall asleep & you may miss Afikomen by Chatzos.

As for your specific questions, you absolutely must participate in the Minjan for Maariv, and you were absolutely Yotzei Havdolo at your Shoule.

in reply to: seuda shlishis after shabbos? #844343

The answer to your question Sam2 & Israeli Chareidi is, that when a Tzibbur commences early Shabbos [if only synagogue in that locale] you are dragged after them, so it is full fledged Shabbos, whereas if a Tzibbur prolongs Shabbos after 3 stars are out, no-one is dragged after them, hence this time cannot qualify for Seudo Shlishis.

As for your question the Goq, absolutely not, otherwise we could solve some of our schduling issues on Shabbos Erev Pesach, and no-one came up with this idea, because Seudo Shenis has to be consumed by daytime.

As to your concern crazybrit, go to an early Hashkomo or/& Vasikin Minjan, have Kiddush & Seudo Shenis by 8 or 9AM, and by lunchtime & Chatzos/Mincho Gedolo, consume Seudo Shlishis with hearty apetite. & for another suggestion, keep a box of Matzos in your Shoule’s social hall, so next time you attend a Kiddush there, have a piece of Matzo transforming the Kiddush into Seudo Shenis, and lunch at home will be your Seudo Shelishis with a hearty apetite.

Of-course Rabbi Shmueli recites Tachnun on Nittel Nacht, or more accurately:- Mincha preceding it & Schacharis following it, except of-course when it is Chanukah, which of-course it can never be, if HaLevi is referring to Russian Orthodox Nittel Nacht.

Ironically Rabbi Shmueli does not recite Tachnun on day of Shmuel HaNovi’s Johrzeit, as Shmuel Hanovi’s Zechus led to the incredible amazing Ness of Yom Yerusholayim on his very own Johrzeit.

Many years ago I was leading services at a small Steibel, and after Schacharis Amida, sat down to Tachnun, despite some old guy screaming at me to say Kaddish. After services he was so livid at me for having no respect for his revered Rebbe, whose Johrzeit was on that day.

I made it as clear as crystal to him, that my recitation of Tachanun had absolutely nothing to do with disdain for his Rebbe, and that I even recite Tachnun on Adar 7th, even though clearly I respect Moshe Rabbeinu, but quite simply:- Schulchon Orech makes no mention in the list of dates of Tachnun omission, neither of Adar 7th, nor vis a vis private dates, of any Yohrzeit like say for a Beris or Chosson. Despite my response to him, he remained livid at me, but clearly I had nothing to apologize to him about, being that I was conforming to the Shulchon Oruch.

So to answer your question Gubbish, you should absolutely have recited Tachnun today, and you Gefen should absolutely recite Tachnun tomorrow Monday.

When I find myself at some Minjan not reciting Tachnun on a Tachnun day, I recite it quitely as per a Pesak from my Rosh Yeshiva ZTKLLH’H, and if I know ahead that they will be omitting Tachnun when it is supposed to be recited, will already recite Tachnun after silent Amida prior to Chazoras haShatz.

Shomor v’Zochor:- 2 sets of commandments, hence 2 Shabbos candles, period!! I don’t add Chanukah candles for kids, and likewise don’t add Shabbos candles for kids.

If one ever forgets to light {and not for the reasons that you “adorable” state that happened in your circumstances} and does have to light an extra candle, this only continues until the following Yom Kippur inclusive. Clearly after being forgiven by haShem on Yom Kippur for having missed to light that time, your slate is cleaned, and back to the regular 2 candles.

1st things 1st:- Both Tachnun & Hallel come from the same book of Tehillim; so Mimonofshoch, both on Yom Ha’Atzma’ut & 23 days later on Yom Yerusholayim, we are all going to recite the same book of Tehillim, some of us from the earlier Perek 6, and other from latter Perkim 113-118.

By a Shiva, we also are all going to recite the same book of Tehillim, some of us from Chapter 16 {or 49 according to some Minhogim} whereas other will still be reciting Chapter 6. By a Shiva we don’t recite Tachanun because Tachnun reminds us of Din, and by a Shiva in the immediate aftermath of the departure of a beloved, who cannot be thinking of the ongoing Din of the recently departed individual!! I hope this answered your 2nd question, Gubbish.

As for your 1st question Gubbish, your very 1st question should have been:- How can I Daven at a shiva, since there is a Halocho:- That 1 should always Daven at his/her Mokom Kavu’a, and not be Minyan jumping around. I was taught many years ago at a Halocho shiur, that despite this Halocho, sometimes other considerations override this Halocho, such as the Chessed of being “Menachem Avail”. Clearly, not having a Minjan at a Shiva house, and even having to await a Minjan, is a Bizoyon both to the Deceased’s Neshomo & to the Availim, whereas a large crowd is a huge Kovod both to the Niftor & the Availim, so you Gubbish should absolutey attend the Shiva Minjan, eventhough you will be omitting Tachnun. Reciting Perek 16 {49} and a Mishna Shiur will probably take more time than Tachnun, anyways.

By attending the Minjan at the Shiva, not only are you not being bad about Tachanun, but you are being a Tzaddik for fulfilling and complying with a Torah obligation of “VeHolachto BiDerochov” :- “Mah Hu Menachem Avail >>> Gam Atoh Menachem Avail!!!”

Needless to say, like many other Tinokos hseNishboru [such as I see at my work place every day] they need to repent & become more religious {B’H for proportional Representation in the Knesset, so that religious parties are of consequence in Israel}, but this in no way justifies the sickos of Naturei Karta nor Satmar to ever lament our glorious Medinas Yisroel. I am a Makir Tov!!
