Anyone pronouncing the Choulom as an “oy” sound unless the Choulom is followed by a “Yud” is ignorant of the rules of correct Hebrew pronunciation. There are only 2 authentic & hence correct pronunciations:- 1) “Oh” as in Go. 2) “Ow” as in How or House.

Anyone who is ignorant of this rule of reading Hebrew should urgently read Rav Hamburger’s learned & intricate details & explanation of this fact; Urgently:- so by next Kerias Shema, you will at least fulfill a Toroh obligation correctly.

But I also was on Frumster now known as JWed, as well as Orthodate, where I ended up being Zoche to have met & married my spouse.

Tragically, the narrow sightness & inflexibility of these separated weddings are squandering numerous opportunities for meeting potential Shidduchim and hence tragically exasperating this tragic Shidduch crisis.

Tuesday Wednesday is the most frequent & also the worst day for Rosh Chodesh to com out. It forces 4 days of longer Davening and puts a huge strain on working men.

Do wives or girls have to shlug hoshanas? Absolutely.

Considering that only 3 factors went into the formulation of our current fixed Jewish calendar, one of them being that Hoshana Rabba is never to fall out on the Holy Shabbat {the other 2 being that Yom Kippur not be Friday nor Sunday}, just so that the 5 Arovos can be beaten 5 times on the ground, this speaks volumes to me, as to how incredibly important this Mitzwah simply has to be.

So absolutely no-one is off the hook, for this exceedingly important ritual.

Please take note Ken Zayn, that irrespective of whether you go to work [Lo Oleinu] on Chol haMoed or utilize internet on Chol haMoed, or abstain from these activities, it has absolute no bearing on whether you are to lay Tefillin or not.

The 1 & only factor, that determines & matters & counts is thy Dad’s Minhog, and nothing else.

R’ Aharon Kotler forced chassidishe bochurim into the sukkah. :- When someone is fortunate to have a Messoro, no-one should force him/her to deviate from his/her Messoro.

It is incomprehensible & perplexing & painful to me, how someone could be forced to break away from his/her ancestor’s tradition.

The Rem’o (HoRav Moshe Isserles ZTKLLH’H) Paskaned to wear Tefillin with a Berocho, and he was such a Choshuv Rabbi, that his Pesak is good enough for me to adhere to.

Hence, even on Hoshana Rabba I lay Tefillin with a Berocho.

BTW:- Whilst on this topic, on 1st weekday Chol haMoed Pesach I keep my Tefillin until after Shelishi of Kerias haToroh, so that I have 2 extra opportunities to kiss my Tefillin, as the commandment of Tefillin is being recited by the Ba’al Koreh.

For sure, if the guy has one of the 7 Ushpizin names, you should absolutely be dating him on the day of his Ushpizin.

e.g. If the Guy is called Moshe, date him this Friday; or if Yosef, date him this Thursday; or if Yaakov, date him this Wednesday.

Needless to say, on Chanukah, if the guy has the name of a Shevet or a Nossi or the father of a Nossi, absolutely date him on the day of his Nossi’s Korbon.

Yaakov Doe:- Correction:- One should dress as if it were Shabbos, but on Yom Tov wear even finer clothing than on Shabbos or Chol haMoed.

In practice, one basically wears Shabbos clothing, but with some weekday clothe, in view of differing opinions, although for sure, in much better attire than on an ordinary weekday.

In practice, I wear Shabbos suit & ties, but weekday shirts, as don’t have enough Shabbos shirts, considering for sure, no laundering on Chol haMoed.

Once, and this includes my saying 2 Kaddishim on the Ommud + 2 mourner’s Kaddishim, each only recited once, getting “L’Eilo L’Eilo MiKol” correct 1st time around each time.

But I shan’t have to worry about saying L’Eilo twice by mistake after Yom Kippur, as I am terminating my 11 months of saying Kaddish in the middle of the Asseres y’Mei Teshuoh.

I was at work in Downtown Brooklyn, on the 21st floor, watching the 1st tower billowing in smoke. As the 2nd plane was approaching, some of us thought it may be a rescue plane. The instant it rammed into the 2nd tower, we knew with absolute certainty, that this was full fledged terrorism.

I got into a subway which was still running at the very beginning, to Lower Manhattan. I was a few blocks away from WTC, when we began to hear this unforgettable sound of the Tower imploding. As fast as we could run, the smoke was coming after us even faster. I dashed into some building into the basement, to escape the oncoming smoke.

Eventually we were told that we have to leave that building; By then, the air had already began to clear, and I was walking up by South Street Seaport, going North. As I was passing one of the intersections, I saw the 2nd Tower implode.

In light of the fact that even the WTC imploding, the air cleared up in about 20 minutes, therefore they should have 1 day clear out Lower Manhattan, and simply blown up the Deutsche Bank Building, and this entire saga would have been over in a matter of minutes, instead of having endured for years & 2 dead firemen.

    This name is already taken

YOu have it easy Iimagine what the sefardim go through (they started on rosh chodesh)

Bear in mind, how easy the Sephardim have it during the days, especially when the real date of Tisho b’Ov comes out on a Sunday. However this is all far too short lived for them, as they pay back very dearly just a month later, when they have to pay back for the easy 9 days with far more days of Selichos.

But I believe that the Sepahrdi Selichos are not as long nor as varied {i.e. not a different one each & everyday} as the Ashkenazik Selichos.

I assume that you OnlyTheTruth are thinking towards next week vis a vis the Asseres yeMei TeShuvo, when one is supposed to make a special concerted effort not to consume Cholov Akkum nor Pas Akkum.

Although not consuming Pas Palter during the Asseres YeMei TeShuvo is a reasonably well known Halocho, somehow very few people realize that this Halocho is one & the same vis a vis Cholov Akkum. …….. Despite today being 1st day of Selichos, this Halocho does not kick in, until the actual Asseres YeEmi TeShuvo.

However, if the Asseres yeMei TeShuivo was not your concern OnlyTheTruth, I don’t know why you sent such an excessively long communique. Somehow the various branches of Dunkin Donuts in Midwood have already had this scenario for years, and the Jewish public seem to know their comfort level on these issues and how to handle them.

Based on a Possuk in Parshas Rishon of Kedoshim, it is 100% Ossur mid’Orraisso to steal; Confiscation is just a cover up word, for nothing short of full fledged stealing.

Note:- I did not say based on the 8th commandment, because contrary to the translation in most Chumoshim, the 8th commandment is “Don’t Kidnap” which is not the topic being discussed in this coffee room.
