My wife & daughter are both an “Isho Chashuvo” so as pair the Remo, they are Mechuyovos to lean.

As for unimportant women, they are off the hook for having to lean.

To get married, because we don’t wish to emulate neither the previous nor the new pope to be.

When shall the Johrzeit in a leap year be observed for this couple?

Who gets custody of this young boy? Just this past week, YWN ran an article as to how important it is even for young couples to have a will. No-one could have imagined how timely this message was.

Tragically, this young boy is in the same situation as Abaye.

Later she saw it also said Shabbos next to Adar 13th on her calendar, so discontinued fasting.

I once heard every 19 years it is the same. Is this true?

If you look at the time of Molad it would be even truer, but because our current calendar can be pushed off by up to almost 2 days to avoid Yom Kippur being on Friday or Sunday or Hoshana Rabba on Shabbos, hence this can push off date of Rosh haShono by up to 2 days, so not always identical every 19 years, but always within 3 day span.

Due to this ovelapping, 8 & 11 years later, tend to be very close.

This year shall be earliest since 1899, becaue Molad Tishri is less than 1&1/4 hours away from the cut offline.

By the way, Birkas haChamo is every 28 years, not 27 years. But 27 years apart tends to be very close in date, being 19+8 years.

Some Far East religions utilize an 84 year system. Again this is (4*19)+8 years apart, and is extremely accurately close.

I ony have 1 query on Terumoh:- Why do most of the Chumoshim commence Shelishi at the wrong location? Shelishi is supposed to commence by “ve’Es haMishkon Ta’asah” and not before the Parsha of the Menorah, which is still part of Sheini.

The Bronx is the only Borough of New York City which is on the Mainland of the USA.

Oh:- to be very accurate:- When crossing over the Broadway Bridge from Manhattan to the Bronx, there is a tiny enclave on the very southern tip just North of the Bridge which is legally also part of Manhattan, so there is also a tiny enclave of Manhattan on the USA Mainland.

There are shittos that hold of that later zman. (I believe it includes Rabbeinu Tam.)

But seriously excludes the Mishno Beruro, who is incredibly emphatic about how critical it is to pray Mincho [Not just commencing but terminating the Amido] prior to sunset.

Yet please note however, that the Mishno Beruro makes no major issue about Maariv BiZemano V Early Maariv, nor of Schacharis before sunrise V Schacharis after sunrise.

Ordinarily, when confronted with 2 scenarios, 1 being with a Minjan but at a worse Zeman V a better Zeman b’Yechidus, praying at the Minjan always overrides the other preferable factor.

However:- 2 exceptions:- a) Mincho must be before sunset even B’Yechidus rather than with a Minjan after sunset; b) If someone is going on a long distance journey, even if he will reach his destination before the end of the Zeman of the current Tefiloh and be able to pray that current Tefilo at his destination with a Minjan, he must still pray that current Tefilo prior to setting off on his journey even if b’Yechidus.

However, even in the case of Friday Chanukah Mincho, it is better to pray with a Minjan after candle lighting than before candle lighting b’Yechidus.

Meeting someone on a dating website, while not a bad idea, is hardly traditional.

But having a Shidduch crisis and an unacceptable proliferation of old singles is even less traditional, so given that Jewish Dating sites are aiding in alleviating this intolerable scenario, it is very traditional to resort to whatever removes bachelorhood/spinsterhood and increases marriages.

Then they”ll cry about their unending singlehood and insist they’re not being picky, they just haven’t found their beshert.

& when such singles came to the Steipler, he berated them telling them, that you did meet your Beshert, but turned her/him down.

Since the topic of this forum was the usage of computers, my remarks were very relevant, although I explained based on my sentiments, that computers are great to find a mate, but once specific questions arise, a computer cannot fulfill the role of a mentor.

In other words, if I wasn’t clear:- A computer can yes replace a Shadchan, but cannot replace a mentor.

It is absolutely the Jewish way to meet a Shidduch thru a Jewish dating site.

As far as using it in lieu of a mentor, get yourself a live mentor, even if you end communicating with this life mentor over e-mail or telephone, and even if this mentor who knows you is in Israel and your in the USA, or vice versa. But the mentor has to be familiar with your situation and circumstances, and be someone whom as soon as s/he hears from you, will immediately know where you left off last time you touched base, and needs no recapping each time you touch base.

Then how do you explain divorce?

By staying married and not divorcing, because divorce causes the Mizbeach as well as innocent children to shed copious tears, in addition to awful acrimony and suffering, so simply better to remain married and never divorce. Instead:- Work on your Middos & make a go of your marriage.

    2 further points to consider:-

    a) Parshas Shekolim is not Parshas Zochor, so if it becomes necessary to miss Shul:- so be it; Just remember to finish Seudo Shelishis long before nitefall, so that no questions arise about which Birkas haMozon to recite

    b) Assume your Eiruv is down.

Well, as already promised in this coffee room topic, I am as per my word & commitment, increasing my Zionism, in protest at this organization which abstained from voting at the Israeli elections.

I have already made several purchases at the YU Seforim Sale.

Then IY’H this coming week I am taking this unexpected trip to Israel, to boost the Israeli economy. Based on the weather forecast, this snow storm should be history by the time my Aeroplane IY’H takes off. HaShem has been very good to me & my spouse, and we have a lot to be grateful for, that as Adar commences we shall IY’H experience true Simcha going to Eretz Yisroel [without a snow storm on the day of our trip], praying at the Kossel, and augmenting the Israeli economy. All of this on the coattails of this Rabbi who pressed so hard to dissuade voters in Israel, which truly repulsed me.

We eagerly look forward to purchasing & distributing Matonos l’Evyonim & Shelach Monos in Eretz Yisroel.

Never to early to buy a never its actually a Segula for a long life.

Not to mention, a wonderful Seguloh to end up paying less money for the same plot, as prices only move in 1 direction:- The same direction that our Neshomo will eventually go, but just so much sooner.

And yes we never know when our time expires so buy it while you can if you want to be buried In A specific place

If anyone had been expecting to procure a plot at Har Menuchos, they have probably already missed their chance. Har Menuchos is sold out. They may be working on building caves over there as per the Mishna in Bobo Basro, but I don’t think most of us wish to end up in a cave, not even if Halachically sanctioned.

mirroronthewall:- and hear shofur the whole, elul

Needless to say, I blow the Shofar for my wife & daughter each & every morning in Ellul, before going to work. Furthermore, if for some reason I miss seeing them in the morning, they are also able to blow my Shofar. On Friday’s, if I left early, I still blow for them in the afternoon, as I am home before Sundown on Fridays.

But more disturbingly, can praying on a bus really engender an atmosphere of “Da Lifnei Mi Atto Omed”? Can any rational person really envision himself standing in front of a King? whilst on a fast moving bus, watching his balance etc.

I paid $12,000 and obtained 2 plots in the Ancient Cemetery in Tzfas, 1 for myself, and the other for my spouse.

This makes it less than 1/3 of the price per plot, and far more Kedusho, and nostalgia, being that this cemetery has been in use for over 1 millennium, with great Gedolim.

Our plot is a few feet away from Yair ben Pinchos, who was mentioned this past Wednesday, 9 days ago, in the Daf Yomi {Shabbos 112}.

    3) How much do you prepare for tomorrow? Schedule, keys, pockets,

I always prepare my clothing for next day before going to sleep, so that in the morning, I never arrive late to Shul Chas veSholom. BTW, the definition of arriving in time to Shacharis is being at least 5 minutes early, so that I am clad in Tallis & Tefillin before the Cantor commences services.

Of-course I also schedule time to talk with my spouse at nite, or to quote Hilary Clinton:- A am there at 3AM for my spouse.
