“How Different this nite is from all other nites”!!

This Mah is not “what” which would portend a 5th question. It is an exclamation of “How” as in “Mah Tov” & “Mah No’iem”.

Considering that on 1 of Rav Avigdor Miller’s tapes on Pesach, he mentions that haShem took us out of Mitzraim to get married and have Jewish families, hence this is the right tome to be talking about marrying as we are about to re-enact Yetzias Mitzraim.

Thisd year we shall have the longest time slot since 1899 between Tzeis haKochovim and Chatzos, due the unusual earliness of the Secular date of Pesach.

However, if your Seder is identical in length each year, this year shall be the earliest finishing line, since 1899.

Despite the 1st Mishno in Arvei pesochim, we always have a very substantial high tea {sometimes hot dogs, fish, salads}, both on Erev Pesach [even when on Shabbos], and Rishon Shel Pesach to tide us thru Motzi Matzo, as clearly 1 raddish on its own shall not be able to accomplish that task.

I would rush to the Chuppo tonite or even tomorrow morning in the 1st third of the day when we could still have a formal Seudo with haMotzi, so that I am not stuck waiting 33 days until Lag b’Omer, but only 1 issue is preventing me from doing so:- I am already married, and polygamy is a Federal offence in the United States of America.

Thank you Sam2 for reminding everyone how knowledgeable Rav Schachter shlita is, and what a lack of Kovod haToroh it is to say anything against this Odom Godol. I 2nd motion your remarks Sam2.

As far as why many utilize Horseraddish, it is because Morror biZeman haZeh is mideRabbonon, whereas eating even 1 minifestle insect is a Biblical prohibition, and Horseraddish is probably less tricky to clean out than is say Romaine lettuce.

When someone comes all the way from out of town, you owe that person an entire weekend, and not just 1 date.

But were you Parshaman in regular phone contact with this person before venturing out? As a general rule, if the date entails out of town travel, have several phone dates before budging anywhere.

Beleive it or not, most of their problems & issues do yes travel down the phone line, and cannot be hidden even over the phone line.

Thou art One Thousand % correct in your assertion, and even Shabbos Shuvo Sermon is supposed to include some Hilchos Yom Kippur & Hilchos Sukko, in addition to being about repentance.

Once the Rabbi has covered his minimum obligations towards disseminating Halocho, he can follow fashion & do whatever he [or his Board of officers expects] wishes, and most Rabbis want these 2 Shabboss sermons [Shuvo & haGodol} to be different in format from a regular speech.

Sam2:- Possibly if the Matzo Mitzwoh is not all the way until Tzofun, but more probable that the Matzo Mitzwoh is the very 1st keZayis, in light of the fact that the Benediction “Al Achilas Matzo” is recited in conjunction with the very 1st keZayis.

If Tzofun would be the prime Mitzwah of Achilas Matzo, it wouldn’t only be very preferable to consume the Afikomon prior to Chatzos, but absolutely mandatory, in light of the fact that the Toroh precribes {in Parchas haChodesh} to meat Matzo “Bo’Orev” [conotation of evening and not the entire nite] unlike Korban Pesach whose time frame is “baLailo HaHu” [Keri’as haToroh of Shishi Shel Pesach].

Either one Zecher L’Pesach and one Zecher L’chagigah or it’s one Zecher L’Pesach and one with which to be Yotzei the Mitzvah of Achilas Matzah.

Actually 1 keZayis is Zecher the actual Korbon Pesach, and 1 keZayis is Zecher the Matzo consumed with the Korban Pesach.

Kisslev 23, 5774 is on a Tuesday, 2 days before Thanksgiving.

That Shabbos is 3rd day of Chanukah, whence Mikketz is the Parsha, but Maftir is 3rd Nossi followed by Haftoro from Zechariah in honor of Chanukah.

Thursday Thanksgiving morning, is Kerias hatoro for 1s day of Chanukah, commencing Chamishi of Nosso. Note carefully, that in that same Kerias HaToro there are 2 widespread Minhogim as to where Sheni commences; 1 is used in most Chutz Lo’Oretz places, and the other is used in Israel & in Yekkish places in Chutz Lo’Oretz as well.

The reason they send around wooden spoons is to remind us of a very little known Halocho, that just as metal can be Kashered thru Hag’olo, kikewise wood & marble can also be Kashered thru Hag’olo.

From a practical aspect, a wooden spoon is useless to pick up a crumb, a feather being more effective, if really bent on not utilizng one’s fingers.

    Rabonim Crusade Against Sushi

There is only 1 crusade I can see against Sushi:- That it cannot be utilized for Eruv Tavshilin, as it is not a cooked food, despite it being very Choshuv in this day & age to serve at a Shabbos meal, especially in a capacity as entree.

No doubt 200 years ago, no-one would have donned a business suit for Shabbos & Yom Tov, and today it is the most commonly worn Shabbos attire. Likewise Sushi has come to be accepted as very respected food.

About as problematic as a Jew celebrating Easter.

But I hope & trust that it wasn’t problematic for Michael Bloomberg to attend this parade on Shabbos.

As per Halocho, I am Don him leChaf Zechus, that he walked to the parade from Gracy Mansion not to desecrate Shabbos, and even if he did carry something at the parade, I am sure he was relying on the “5th Avenue Synagogue” Eruv, and I am sure that he or 1 of his aides called in on Friday to verify that the Eruv was intact & operational.

Next year after he has left office, he shall have to decide if he is more interested in spending the day on 5th Avenue attending St. Patrick’s Day Parade, or maybe more interested in spending that same day on Rehov Ben Yehuda watching all the costumes on Shushan Purim.

My green tie has pictures of the Arba Minim on it, so if St. Patrick’s day were to occur during Sukkos, I would have no problem wearing my green tie on St. Patrick’s day, but being that Sukkos is far away from St. Patrick’s day, I am unable to don my green tie on St. Patrick’s day.

Even when Palm Sunday occurs on St. Patrick’s day, since they use dry palms and only a single branch or 2, and not an entire Lulov as in the design on my green tie, it doesn’t match my tie.

I would be more interested in the Popes relationship with the jews of Buenos Aires than of Rome.

“The Apple Never Falls Far From The Tree” so eventhough this is the 1st Non-European pope, but his parents were Italians who immigrated to Argentina, so his family ties/roots are still verly closely connected to Rome & Italy.

But I would also want to be certain about his relationship with the Falkland Islands, that he should be absolutely clear, that the Falklands are absolutely British, especially as this Wednesday, Nisson 9th, is the 31st anniversary of the illegal attempt by Argentina to steal the Falklands from the British, which cost 907 lives:- 649 Argentinians, 255 British Servicemen, and 3 Falkland Civilians.

Why not just eat kitniyot for the week before Pesach? You can make it in your Pesach post, and eat it on your Pesach dishes.

and likewise utilize Egg Matzo as a staple during the week before Pesach, maybe to spread cream cheese & jam, and recite Mezonos, and on Shabbos haGodol, after a kezyis/Beitzo of bread in a corner, continue onto a Kosher lePesach meal, which too can be suplemented by egg Matzo.

Furthermore, you shall thereby have Mezonos in the house immediately after Pesach, when these egg Matzos can again be consumed, and they can be owned/possessed during Pesach.

Thanks to my extra trip to Israel this year to show moral support to Medinat Yisroel, I was Zoche to be by the Kever of hoRav Chaim Yaakov Goldvicht ZTKLH’H, the founder of this wonderful Hesder program, on his 18th Johrzeit, on Zayin Adar hoRishon.

Furthermore, we Zionists are staunchly opposed to transportation on Shabbos [other than an ambulance or fire engine in case of danger to human life, as we just recently studied in 16th Perek of Tractate Shabbos, whose Siyum was this weekend], as well as no non Halachic compliant marriages, a very strong difference from Lapid’s desires.

Furthermore, even Shas is now very strongly in favor of the “haTikvah” song, as was recently reported on YWN.

In england it also works like that (and most other countries) if 1 party doesn’t get over 50percent of the vote a coalition has to be made which will then be over 50 percent.

In 1974 the party without the popular vote, got more seats in Parliament, and became Prime Minister.

It was so untenable, that within a few months, a new election was called. But someone can become the British Prime Minister even without 50% of the popular vote, as long as s/he has over 50% of the seats in Parliament.

Meanwhile, both Lapid & Bennett better begin fearing for their Olom haBo, let alone for what might transpire in the next Knesset election.
